Front desk lady Carmen isn't any help whatsoever.And is kinda combative and short over the phone with no solution and just repeats the same information. Imagine asking a dental office that runs 1000's of insurances what options would work best for your treatment plan and they won't give you an answer other than to go online. As if I haven't done that myself. Only thing they do is offer there in house system they make more money on. Predatory practice who doesn't care about your health. Pretty simplistic question to answer someone struggling with finances. Steer clear of you have AHCCS INSURANCE bc they'll treat you different then there other patients and rush you out the door. Couldn't even manage to email me my referral. Everything by paper here. Old age. I'll be switching primary dentist. read more

I am posting this review not because I want to, but because it's necessary. Based on my personal experience, I believe this dental practice, as well as its staff, either knowingly or unknowingly harbor a negative bias toward African American patients. Heavy, I know but hear me out. When I went there for my appointment, while on the surface they seemed friendly enough, there was a racial undercurrent I tried to ignore. Being asked intrusive questions about who I am, where I'm from, and what I do is absolutely not normal. It felt like they were trying to determine whether I was worthy of care. The so-called comprehensive exam with Dr. Smith was about 4 minutes long, with him actually looking at my teeth for maybe 30 seconds. I told them I'd had a negative experience at a local dental school, which seemed to have been the catalyst for my recent dental setbacks. To my surprise and disappointment, I was informed that Dr. Smith graduated from that very same school. I should've left then but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I told Dr. Smith about a tooth that had been bothering me, and he reassured me it was nothing to worry about. He gave me a treatment plan and a referral to an endodontist. However, he offered no options regarding a prosthetic for the crown I had lost. When it was time to leave, I noticed the look of shock and discomfort from the front desk when I paid my insurance co-pay. They exchanged glances like they weren't expecting me to pay it. It felt racially charged. They did not schedule me for a follow-up appointment and told me nothing could be done until I saw the endodontist. I said okay and left. The following week, I went to the endodontist. After proper X-rays and a real exam, it was determined I had been misdiagnosed by Dr. Smith. The area in my mouth that he said was "perfectly fine" was, in fact, severely infected and dangerously close to my sinuses. If I hadn't followed up, it could've escalated to something life-threatening. I told Dr. Smith I was experiencing facial pressure, and he dismissed it as pain radiating from a different tooth. Looking back, I felt completely dismissed and invalidated. When I contacted my insurance provider about what happened, they were shocked, so much so that they got the dental office on a three-way call to ask why the "comprehensive exam" they billed for never seemed to happen. There's no way a full exam happens in 30 seconds while missing a major infection. A staff member from Cactus Point Dental said the exam included the X-rays, but the insurance agent pointed out that the X-rays were billed separately. That's when the staff member became defensive and told the insurance rep, on a recorded call, that because I questioned them, I would be released as a patient and was no longer welcome. The call was recorded and witnessed. When I later shared my experience on Facebook, I was attacked by people affiliated with the office. I received racist and classist remarks including accusations that I must be on EBT or Section 8. They said I "ride the system." That's vile and disgusting, especially considering my father was a war veteran who died a service-connected death. I am his child. I don't need to justify the legacy and support my family earned through sacrifice. This is a bad place. These are not people who treat all patients with dignity. If you are African American or Black, I hate to say it but you may want to think twice. read more

This is my favorite Dentist ever and I will continue to go here hopefully forever. Dr. Stradling has done multiple fillings and 1 root canal for me and every-time he makes sure that I'm comfortable not nervous and completely numb before he begins and he works quick! The ladies up front are extremely friendly and welcoming I don't even have to say my name when I walk in they know who I am and check me in. This place is so friendly and literally the best dentist ever I recommend all my friends and family to cactus point! Quality care, Gental hands. Mona Lisa is amazing!! Entire experience was A+. Came in for a deep cleaning and a few fillings. Pain was very minimal, I was anxious but it was not necessary. I will keep up with my appointments moving forward lol. read more

Originally came here about 6 years ago under prior dentist and different company name. It was great then and a 5 star experience. That changed with new ownership. First visit with new dentist I listened to about a 10 minute spheel on how they could pull out my baby tooth and why I should get an implant. Told them not interested but thanks for the info I've been told this for decades and leaving it in until it falls out or creates an issue. After visit get a text about scheduling a tooth extraction. Asked them to note my chart to stop asking me this, and I already told the dentist directly no, I'm not interested... next visit, got asked by literally everyone from the X Ray person, cleaner, dental hygienist , etc what I want to do with my baby tooth and when I'm getting it removed... even after I was done they told me I needed to wait for someone else to touch base.. then a different person came out and asked if I wanted to schedule a procedure for the baby tooth. It was unreal... literally wasted an extra 10 mins after my cleaning in the waiting room to be asked this. One of the last times I went they took X Rays for the 2nd time in a year without asking. Then tried to charge me on my way out for them... I said usually If something isn't covered through dental insurance you ask a customer or at the very least mention it beforehand that there would be charges ... the person had the nerve to tell me our office recommends more frequent X rays, but as a courtesy I'll remove these charges for you this time.. not a sorry we made an error or mistake.. Instead their bad business practices are my one time courtesy lol. One of the staff members also asked for me to leave them a Google review and told me I could take my phone out and do it while waiting for the dentist, which I found ridiculous/unprofessional and seems like something that must be directed from the higher ups if they are able to have an ongoing pleasant conversation with clients I can only assume...... based on multiple experiences the actual clients needs seem like a distant 2nd to this offices goal of making additional profits... oh, and I also referred a friend here years back under prior ownership. She eventually left after new ownership due to this office saying they could get her a new invisiline/ retainer ... which she got, and it wasn't fitted. They took out a tool to carved it by hand on the spot for some reason, ruining it in the process as obviously that would never firmly fit anyone's teeth.. yet still tried to charge her for it. Last visit before I moved the dentist said ahh you still got a baby tooth, might as well just leave it at this point. Seems like it only took 5 years and my last visit for anyone to finally read a note. read more

Most pleasant dental experience ever! I don't normally write reviews but since I rely on reading reviews when I go to new places, I had to share my experiences for anyone looking for a great dentist. I was first experiencing bad tooth pain from dental work done years ago out of state and called in and told to come in immediately and they'd work me in, which they did. Their front waiting room is inviting with their modern cactus theme and the office staff was so friendly. The assistant Julia got me situated at the chair and made me feel like a friend more than a patient. Then Dr. Stradling went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I've had a lot of dental work done in my life so I have many dentists to compare to. I didn't feel rushed, and I didn't feel a thing when he went to numb me. His bedside manners are really impressive and he's got such a fun personality. He noticed a chip in my front tooth, and he offered to fix at no cost, which really improved my smile. I told him about a couple other teeth I had concerns about and he gave me honest advice without any pressure to fix it. But I have returned twice since and again, extremely friendly assistants in Mona Lisa and Keyla. They make you feel like family. I actually look forward to going to the dentist which is not something I thought I'd ever say. I also drove 30 minutes from my house because it's a hidden gem in a valley full of dentists! Great quality of work by their dentists. I know they already have many 5 star reviews on Google, but I want to add my own experiences!
