Take it from a brother I always drive pass this place and I gave it a try. The outside is deceiving it's actually pretty small on the inside. The food options were limited compared to other Mexican restaurants. The salsa and chip was pretty decent. I order flauntas which was actually pretty good. My wife loved her margaritas on the rocks, I had mine frozen it was okay but it was too sweet and you can taste the syrup. Overall I had better but it's far from the waste place I had. read more

Charges you a "leverage fee" for debit card use. When I questioned the fee my I was told, "everyone does it." Not only was food overpriced for quality and quantity ($7.50 for a side of rice and beans) but illegally charging for using a debit card. If you were charged a "leverage fee" for using a debit card, it's likely an error as it is illegal for businesses to charge a fee specifically for using a debit card in the United States due to the Durbin Amendment of the Dodd-Frank Act; this means you should not be charged a surcharge for using your debit card, and you should contact the merchant to dispute the charge. read more

Awesome "Real Hispanic" kitchen!!! They also have the "Tex-Mex"-Americanized weak stuff to offer. Lol ... really, if y'all would give Taco's de Asada or/and Chorizo a chance... y'all might love them! read more

Gross. Enchiladas have sauce. The tortilla was red but it was so dry I could barely swallow it. Maybe they just brush sauce on the tortilla? The Mexican rice had peas and carrots in it. Uh what? Do they have fried rice from the Chinese place as well? Beans were watery. Waitress was nice but it's really run down and dingy inside. read more

Cactus - a plate of mexican food with rice and beans - Mexican Near Me - Milan, Illinois

Terrible food!! Scrambled hamburger on a taco shell is not a taco! A monkey can make that ! They got our order wrong too!!! Don't try calling them either! Phone doesn't work!! Go to Lolitas in silvis Illinois! It's better food more authentic!! read more

Exceptionally & surprisingly good Mexican food!! Best chile rellenos we've had in QC'S, ALL these years!?!! (Not goopy, had texture and great flavor!) Great shrimp quesadillas, really good chicken hardshell tacos, their salsa is worth a special trip to buy for your own cooking or nachos. Staff very nice & hardworking. Wish we'd tried Cactus Milan a LONG time ago! Instead of driving for mediocre food. Sincerely, try it! read more

My husband & I eat at this restaurant at least once a week. We are not the only ones you visit on a regular basis. Prices are very reasonable and the food is very authentic Mexican food! Very tasty!!! And they make the best margaritas!!!! See you there! read more

Typical Tex-Mex menu, YELP map not correct for location, 315 10th is intersection of 10th and 4th, same strip as Shanghai restaurant. This little place is great for cheap lunch or dinner with good variety of cold Mexican beers and margaritas. I've never seen a flat Chimichanga before, but it's OK and not fried. Well we are a long way from Texas. Salsa OK but very mild, requested hotter variety good and mixed well with everything. Food was fresh, fast, and good friendly service. read more

Been a customer of this place since it opened but has severely gone down hill in the last 3 months the last 4 times I have ordered from there the order was either wrong or the ticket got lost horrible service don't waste your time read more

Had lunch here Saturday July 21 with my significant other. Service was great. Food was delicious. Restaurant was clean. I will definitely be back and will recommend this place to my friends!! I had the chorizo eggs and my significant other loved his lunch fajita salad, chicken, served in a tortilla bowl. read more

Today we left our favorite restaurant, without ordering, because The Cactus, waitress was so rude and obnoxious that we couldn't even think about staying. Evidentiary the word has gotten around as the normally packed place only had patrons at three tables and yet provided absolutely no service for over 30 minutes! read more

I'm a regular here and most waitresses know my order and ask if I want the usual as soon as I walk in the door! Love this place and their yummy food!! read more

I went here with my cousin on a Friday night for a much needed dinner out. I ordered the fajitas and she ordered a chicken dish. Halfway through our meal, she found a long hair in her food. It caused us to lose our appetites. After showing the MANAGER the long, disgusting hair, he took our plates and walked away. I expected him to take the food off our bill, but he did nothing. After being ignored and treated so poorly, we paid our bill and left. Hungry. I will never return to this place. With poor hygiene and even worse management, this place will not stay open. read more

Good food, priced decent, and usually quick service. Evenings between 5-6 can get packed so usually get there before or after.

I get take out from here every Tuesday. Me and guys I work with order a lot of tacos. It's always great food for a good price. my only complaint is sometimes they don't answer their phone read more

I guess if you are in Milan, IL and don't want pizza this place is decent to go to for dinner. It's small, kind of dumpy (I wouldn't call it dirty, but it's a bit run down), and reasonable cheap. The food isn't bad, but it's nothing special either. read more

Cactus has very good service and food. It is also reasonably priced. Their soups are great. The restaurant is also very clean.

Well today when I was buying my usual Mexican nachos I took them home and started eating. I took a second chip and felt something hard like a tooth or a stone. Like any other person I threw the food away but kept the object. This shouldn't be in food it is disgusting and shows poor sanitation and food handling. I can't even think about nachos without it making my stomach hurt and me feeling nauseous. To be honest I'd rather pay the extra amount to get food at rudy's than here read more

Service was horrible and the food... lets just say we will not be back. I ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri and received a margarita with so much tequila that it was not even drinkable. I ended up sick that night too! read more

Dined in w/ a friend around 5pm. Greeted right away and the restaurant was about half full, only about 14 tables and I had heard that they get busy. HUGE MENU! HUGE, I got 3 beef taco dinner. It was good, only thing I'd change is that I would have ordered a side of sour cream. You get chips/salsa as you get seated. The taco shells are like none I've never had seemed like a mix of corn and flour shell, but they were good...actually very good. My friend ordered 4 beef tacos w/ her dinner and orders 3 to go, so she REALLY enjoyed her food. I will for sure be back! Plus I grew up in Milan, so I always feel at home there. I had to take away 1 star because they serve Milan water, and I drank it, but you have to be from there to be willing to do that! read more

Great food, especially love the crazy chicken. Awesome chips and salsa as well. Good, strong margaritas and reasonably priced beers too. Only drawback is the service sometimes, which can be slow, they seem to go through a lot of servers. Other than one girl who is always working who is very good but always seems overwhelmed by lack of help from other staff. read more

This was the worst place we've ate in a long time. Me my husband and 2 kids went. Me and my husband had the steak tortas. The bread was hard, beans and rice were cold, waitress was rude, and we Sat in a spot where every time someone opened the door to leave or come in, the wind would hit us. Never again will I waste 42$ on this place. read more

Delicious, authentic and very reasonably priced! Four of us went during a very busy Friday night - service was very good. Place was packed and lots of 'to go' orders too. We had variety of dishes including a combo, chicken chimichange, sesame pork. All were very good with nice flavor. Salsa was very good too. Definitely recommend this place for what it is - family Mexican restaurant for lunch or dinner. read more

Used to be great! Horrible now. There is a waitress that is rude and slow. This last time I went in I was happy she wasn't there, but still took 20 minutes to take my order and after 30 more minutes I had to ask for my food to go. I was giving them one more chance but now I am done. Never again. This was their third chance to get it right. read more

Good food served in a timely manner. Only thing is the Milan water.. I could taste it in the pepsi.
