I recently attended my cousin's wedding celebration at La Cantina, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Our server, Valery, was not attentive or accommodating. When my cousin tried to make a simple change to his order almost immediately after placing it, she came back within seconds saying it was "already being made," which felt dismissive and unnecessary. During an important moment--my cousin's blessing--she interrupted by loudly calling out orders across the room, which was very disrespectful and disrupted the atmosphere. Additionally, the room was uncomfortably hot with around 25 guests, and no effort was made to turn on fans or improve ventilation. However, I do want to highlight that Juan did an amazing job. He was very kind, attentive to all of us, and truly helped keep things running smoothly. He made a big difference in the overall experience. Overall, the service and environment took away from what should have been a special and memorable occasion. Sadly, I won't be returning. And in responds to your comment To the business owner Thank you for your response. I stand by my review, as it reflects my direct experience at Cactus Cantina. While I understand kitchens have limitations, the request to modify the order was made almost immediately, and the way it was handled came across as dismissive. Additionally, interrupting a blessing. regardless of how busy the restaurant is was inappropriate and disruptive to a meaningful moment. I also want to address your comment about posting a photo. Referring to a guest as "creepy" for sharing their experience is unprofessional and unnecessary. There are more respectful ways to communicate concerns. I did acknowledge Juan because he provided excellent service, which shows that positive experiences are absolutely possible. My review is simply an honest reflection of what occurred from my perspective.

Country Fried Steak

A good restaurant in the mission grove area in Riverside. Their menu has a wide variety of options from fajita plates to fish and chips. I went with the country fried steak dinner which was great! Dish came with the choice of two sides and garlic bread, which was pretty solid for around $17. The steak was well done and the gravy was delicious. On the other hand, my wife's burger was pretty underwhelming. $2 extra for cheese and I found the burger was not seasoned very well. Overall it is a decent option for a meal, but in our experience the food can be hit or miss. Service was good and the restaurant is okay, the table was a bit small for a party of four.

Been coming here for years for the great people and good food. My favorite being the ground beef Tacos. Also, don't sleep on Adryana's killer Cadillac margarita and great service!

Me and my parents like to come here pretty often for family dinners, we come often and the food is always great. The club sandwich is amazing, always have to take a box with me. We always request to sit with Faith, she's the best!

Reviewing banquet room service for a memorial dinner. Food was above average (our package included a cheese enchilada/ beef taco combo plate per person), but the service was pretty impressive--efficient, and fairly prompt. If in the area again, I would visit, most likely for a happy hour.

Steak fajitas to go. Save your money.

I would ask Yoli's in Riverside to read this!!!…read more Tried Annie's for the first time and the Moreno Valley store#3 excels in service!!!! A short wait in busy restaurant is no problem especially when you are seated then served promptly. I'm not a picky eater, when order eggs over easy I appreciate them showing up that way, when they don't I feel like it's necessary to mention it! I did and our waitress immediately said "I got you" before I could say another word walked away and back in a flash with a fresh plate and complete order of eggs made perfectly! Other business owners should take notice to this! Not only did Breana take charge to ensure I had what I wanted but checked in on our entire meal and satisfaction. Truly a professional at accessing a situation and rectifying without question. I would recommend this store as her and teammates were all positive and friendly making for a great experience and atmosphere throughout the restaurant. The meal the was tasty and I really enjoy a good breakfast! I look forward to returning and experiencing more their offerings! Great job Annie's

The service was there. It's a middle morning Tuesday. Only seen the server once to take the order…read moreand then another who brought food. That was it. No one was rude. The food, hit and miss. A typical American breakfast wasn't too bad. You can't really mess up a typical American breakfast (a pancake, hash brown, eggs, bacon, sausage) hash brown did taste like it's been sitting there. Now the "south of the border" I DO NOT recommend the chilaquiles. Maybe it was a bad batch. It's in a green sauce and it tasted beyond tangy. Definitely had some lemon juice in there. It was not enjoyable. Since the sauce drenches the rest of the plate, everything else (beans and egg) tasted like lemon too. It was topped with some Carnitas (+$4 extra for meat) and even some of it tasted too much like lemon. The restaurant itself, doesn't look bad inside. All wooden. Spacious. Its giving a giant cabin vibe. I would definitely come back still but I have learned a lesson that the south of the border selection here, leave it alone. Don't bother ordering from it. The coffee was great though. I don't think they do refills though. I didn't see a server often to ask.

We were told it would be a 10-20 minute wait, it ended up being 8 min before we were seated. Tables were clean and as we walked past others eating, my game plan kept changing. Every table had a dish I knew I needed to try. We were a party of 4, and I hoped all of us ordered something different so I could grab a taste. Ended up with Chlliquilles, verde, with a rare ribeye. It came with choice of house potatoes or hash browns , and beans. I did not expect to much for my steak, it's a breakfast cafe, they might get it close like a med, but I never get my rare. I WAS WRONG... IT WAS PERFECT!!! It had a char, like it was cooked over fire, it was so tender and juicy, and as a nice size cut. It was the most amazing steak I have had in a long time, and way better than even Flemings (they can't get their steaks right anymore). The chips tasted homemade and their chili verde sauce had pieces of meat in it (special little surprises in it). I do wish the sauce had a little more seasoning nd a kick, but they mixed it perfectly where my chips were still crispy, I still wanted more, and they gave it to me. Beans were ok, and the hash browns could have been served a hotter. Eggs were cooked perfectly so my over easy still had runny yolk, that could blend into my sauce. Husband had waffles extra crispy, and they were lightly crispy but very flavorful. He also had the chicken fried steak. The meat was tender and had a good crisp. It was seasoned very well. The gravy had solidified, so that was a little disappointing. The flavor again, could have had a little more kick, but overall he enjoyed it and would get it again. Our friends had the menudo, which he said was outstanding. The bowl is large, so get it to share if your also ordering food. It had a great kick! And the tripe, was tender and cooked to perfection. They also had the Chilliquilles verde and enjoyed it. Steaks cooked to perfection as well. We will definitely be back, and we have a list of items we want to try, thank you for amazing service and good food!

But the overall experience feels like a test of patience and financial endurance. First off, the service moves at the speed of a DMV line the day after a holiday weekend. We had enough time between ordering and getting our food to reflect on life choices, reconnect spiritually, and consider applying for jobs there so we could check on our own order ourselves. Now let's talk about the drinks. Not cocktails, not fancy handcrafted lavender infused mocktails served by a guy named Sebastian. I'm talking regular soft drinks. Sodas. The kind you buy in a 12 pack at the grocery store. They bring them out in the actual can, no glass, no ice, no refill, no illusion of generosity whatsoever. And if you dare to ask for a second one? Boom, another $4 charge. Charging $4 per soda can while also making me pour it myself feels less like dining and more like I accidentally entered a luxury survival experience. At that point just hand me the Costco case and let me finance it. Again, the food was good. But between the slow service and the hostage negotiation approach to canned soda distribution, it's hard not to leave slightly irritated and oddly dehydrated.
