I just received a bill from them from services from Jan 1-31. So, i called to ask what was going on because my dad was no longer living, the receptionist told me oh I am sorry we switched billing companies and they have messed up the bill this was for services from nov-dec. Ok perfect but why am I just getting the bill in February? She brought on i guess the billing manager and what a nice guy NOT. I was asking why its taken almost three months to send a bill out to us. They never send one to the nursing home nor to my home until now. The guy goes on to blame the postal service. I explained to them that if you send out the bills the first of the month why did we not get one in December for his nov month? Again blames me and the post office. Not one has either of the two that i talked to ever said I am so sorry for you loss, here I am calling to find out about a bill for my dead father, Then I asked well I his account has been closed he has no money left if this bill would of been sent out sooner we could of paid it but with the cost of him being in the nursing home and then the funeral his account was wiped out. I told him that I don't think I should have to pay because your billing department messed up. Again I would of paid it back in December!! but My dads been dead for almost 3 months now. Then the Billing manager ( I wish i could remember his name) then tell me that he cant believe that I put him through all that just to say you not going to make us eat the cost. Excuse me what?? Here I am trying to figure out the bill. At that moment I decided that yes you are going to foot the bill, If they would of been a bit sympathetic and said I am so sorry to hear of your dads passing lets us take all the late charges off cause there were a lot on there, I would of said oh thank you let me pay the rest out of my money I would of paid the bill!! But there was no understanding from this man that its sucks to be grieving and then months after have to deal with a surprise bill that pops up. My dad had been going to them for years and years its sad that when their patients die they treat the family this way. Again this was not about us not paying the bill I just wanted to know the explanation of it and when they tell you that their billing dept messes up and catches the mistake and then sends out a bill and then they are rude as hell to the family when they call in to figure it out??
