Not very PC, but this is sort of a "red necks" Macy's, including work clothes, hiking and camping equipment, fire arms and ammunition, many fishing poles and accessories, etc. All the merchandise seems to be high quality, and the staff is friendly. I bought a brand new Winchester 30-06 and scope here and they tell me that they are all out of the braces to mount to my new riffle so I go back 2 weeks later and now they are telling me they don't carry mounts for my riffle. Their inventory is way off compared to the website. The manager knows it and doesn't care. When I went to purchase something that was noted as 'in stock' , he says "yeah, as far as a figure someone stole three of them. I noticed two days ago ". Really? This will require some biting of the tongue on my part to prevent a novel length comment, but here are a few reasons to Never, EVER, go shopping for firearms at this location... I also want to say that personal attacks on character or appearance are usually something I avoid and admittedly the lowest way to react to any argument or disagreement or unsatisfactory experience with another person, but in this case I know no other way to warn potential customers what they are in for if they are thinking of buying any used firearms at this location. ....An angry little old leprechaun runs the so called "gun gallery" here. The displays are nice and clean and well kept due to the majority of the employees remaining on point and doing a great job at what they do. I buy and sell guns now and then, never an issue and a fun hobby I've enjoyed for years. Today I was scolded by the "Angry Leprechaun" for having brought in a perfectly legal pistol. The pistol was checked in and inspected for a clear chamber by the gentleman at the front desk. No worries, His colleague then escorted my firearm back to the "gallery" for me, another fine gentleman. The stinky attitude I received from the Leprechaun running the gun gallery was unbelievable. He scolded me for bringing a firearm in with 16 rounds magazines and told me that was uncalled for and against policy. I reminded him that I did not just walk in with my firearm, but I was escorted to his desk by one of his fellow employee. And I also kindly explained that the magazines were plugged and numbers on the mag punched to comply with the new Colorado capacity regulations. Furthermore, I also explained that I purchased this firearm just a few months ago through a friend and we both made the transaction through another location that was FFL certified. Full compliance with Colorado law! I was shocked at this man's incompetence and lack of knowledge regarding firearms and Colorado law. My rant is almost over, but to recap; -Most employees at this location are extremely professional. -The store is very clean and beautiful. -Prices on all guns are a bit high and you will not be able to dry fire anything before purchase. Hope you found my review useful. Please check my other reviews to see that I leave mostly high ratings for businesses that have earned it and I'm a pretty positive person most of the time. Same great service and products as the flagship store, but little smaller. Cabela's didn't disappoint me. There's all kinds of really cool stuff here and the staff were very helpful too. A couple things worth keeping in mind: 1) Since this is a new store and one of only 3 in the whole state, demand is high. Thus lines are still LONG (but incredibly swift) and certain items are in short supply. Restrain your expectations accordingly. 2) This is not (insert your favorite hiking/skiing/fishing store here). The product diversity is huge and every type of outdoor activity is welcome. Do not huff and puff when your favorite niche activity is only given one small section while the evil ATV riders seem to have a much larger area to shop than you ;) 3) The marketing at this store may not be aimed at your image. Realize that you might not find the lime green, high-tech, ultra lightweight/ripproof/waterproof/blah camping french press with matching cozy that you were expecting to find, so don't whine. read more

Live nearby, and visited the store today for the 1st time with the intention of making some substantial purchases. The facility is absolutely beautiful, and absolutely worth the visit (they obviously made a big $$$ investment). However, any help is abysmal, as there are either not enough workers, or are too busy BS'ing. Same story at the checkout -- they were way understaffed and the line was LONG (think post office!). Talked to 2 different people- they talked like it was just rewards for purchases, but get to the counter and they're signing you up for their credit card. Hmmm. Never once mentioned the truth in 10 (?) minutes of discussion- it's not rewards at all- it's their credit card in teeny tiny print on the card. Both associates danced all around the truth using their prescribed lingo. Then the bozo at the counter, attempting to further manipulate, lied to me again, acting like the associates were 'out of line' in deceiving me, when in fact they're obviously trained to avoid the truth about what they're pushing given they recited the Exact. Same. Script. Then [the gal] tried to lie to me again! when I called her out. Balls. Bozo at the counter was quite the charlatan, and to add insult to injury, he kept patronizing me when it was clear I was irritated at having been misled. Who are these people! This place isn't impressive at all- the associates hover like vultures for your credit, the smiles are phony, and the prices are ridiculous. the store is huge and amazing. i stopped in to buy hunting boots and was pretty disappointed with the staff. i spent about 15 minutes looking at boots before anyone offered to help. there were lots of employee's hanging out and chatting, but no help. finally had a woman offer to look for boots in my size in tbe back. she was helpful but knew nothing about the products. i did buy some boots, as well as a few other things. huge inventory of outdoor gear here. i stopped by the knife counter, was helped there immediately. checkout guy was also very friendly. management needs to get control of the shoe dept. read more

Got a gun safe, and the salesman Jim was amazing. Inventory indicated that the item was out of stock. BUT...He went in back and found out that a shipment had just arrived, and wasn't in the inventory yet. He was able to get a manager to allow him to unpack the truck and help log-in the safe, and then sell it to me with only a few minutes in between. I was able to pick it up in back, and Jim even loaded it into my SUV. Another GREAT Cabelas experience, which brings me back and keeps me a black card member every year. read more

There are multiple reviews saying they only prioritize white male customers and honestly I agree , I was just here for a Father's Day gift and I was followed and stared at the whole time by employees.... I'm a Mexican female with a black hoodie and sweats, I was with my brother and I mean FOLLOWED AND STARED. At one point I had 2 employees standing in the aisle with there bodies facing the opposite direction but there heads were facing me and they stared until I looked and walked away. One of the employees came and started a conversation with me as I was looking at clothes the conversation was about me signing up for there membership. Then when we were checking out we waited for about 25 min as this old lady with white short hair worked with this family, then when we got up to the register she Sighed and looked as if she was totally done with us even when though we had just walked up then one of our products didn't have a bar code and she said with the most attitude "well you need one and I've got a line" like excuse me ? I'm sorry your product didn't have a bar code and I get the store is close to closing but this is your job. I was uncomfortable the whole entire time I was shopping. Went here for some fishing lures and some flies as well with my 13 year old son. My son had researched the lakes and streams we will be visiting and knew what he needed, just needed some help finding them. One man in fishing department told us he was "too busy to help us with something like that" and told us to go find a certain guy. That guy who was stocking a shelf also told my son he was "too busy" and we'd need to wait for the first guy to free up. Really bad customer service and the way they spoke to my son was quite rude. They spoke to him like it would be ridiculous for them to help a kid- a kid who brought his own money to spend in their store. This store doesn't deserve his money, or mine. read more

I came in needing to get outfitted for my first ever hunting trip. After having gone to two separate outdoor sporting goods stores and having spoken to very unhelpful employees who couldn't steer me in the direction of what kind of gear to get I was pleasantly surprised by the personal attention I received at Cabelas. The rep literally grabbed a cart for me and gave me the options he would recommend for every article I needed. He even gave me price point options, while explaining the pros and cons of every item. I was very well outfitted for the hunt and did not regret any item I purchased. read more

I received a gift card that had been purchased at King Scoopers. I them purchased, using the gift card, a pair of shoes at Cabela's. When I tried to exchange the shoes they had no record of the purchase even through it was made with their gift card. The wanted to credit me $40.00 less that I paid for them ever through I was purchasing over $150.00 in new shoes. I left with the old shoes and did not purchase the other two pair. If you do not have a receipt do not try and take anything back to Cabela's. They are implying that I am dishonest in not having the receipt and insisting that I paid full price for the shoes. In fact I still have $26 on the gift card so simple deduction gave them the purchase price. That was not good enough. I will not purchase anything from them again. Enjoyed Black Friday at Cabela's! Waited until the rush was over about 8am and started out adventure. We were on the look out for a nice priced bow and ended up getting exactly that! I bought some ammo from this location on the 28th of last month and still have not been able to pick up said Ammo. When I ordered it online I chose to pick it up in store and the order confirmation and even the webpage before I ordered told me it would be ready to be picked it up on the 9th. Also, the order confirmation said I would get a tracking number and another confirmation that the order had shipped. Which is kind of weird because I'm supposed to be picking it up from the store so why would I need that info for a pickup order, they already gave me my pickup date. Either way I haven't received any other info from them about my order, even when I contacted customer service. I also do not understand why it would let me buy ammo online that either wasn't in stock or that wasn't going to be ready by the date they said. Even now I can't buy ammo that isn't in stock. This has been very frustrating with their lack of communication. read more

Horrible customer service from primarily the gun dept. The first encounter was back in December, I was looking to purchase an AR-10. The guy at the counter wouldn't even give me the time of day. And he acted like me having any type of knowledge about guns was like unheard of. My second encounter was today. I came by at around 8:30pm (i get it it's annoying when customers do that, but it's not like i came in at 9pm) to see how much they would give me for the same AR-10 I bought from THEM 6 months prior. The guy in the gun room literally rolled his eyes when the person who checked my firearm escorted me down there. They offered me $225 for a gun origanlly purchased for $1700 AND had maybe 4 boxes of rounds put through it. I think he pulled that out of his ass because he didn't want to make the deal because he wanted to go home. The guy in the gun room said it was "beat up". Which is absolute CRAP because it has spent most of its time in a safe! What a slap in the face. I don't know if it is because i'm a female (and i hate pulling that liberal feminist bull crap) but i seriously never felt as such an inconvenience to these men in my life. Cabelas lost my gun business for good. Private buy/sell will always trump this nonsense. read more

I'm sad to say that I am no longer going to shop at Cabelas! There are much better stores out there, namely Bass Pro and Sportsmans Warehouse. I went to Cabelas today and had the worst experience with customer service. I waited in line nearly 30 minutes to buy 3 items. Literally every customer had an issue with something when they checked out in front of me. The clerk and the manager couldn't have cared less. No greeting when I got to the clerk. No "I'm sorry for the wait." No, "thank you and have a nice day." Really what it felt like was, "go eff yourself. I don't care if you are a customer here or not". My time is to precious to go there. I went to Sportsmans Warehouse immediately after and received awesome customer service. Their prices are just as good and their selection is better. It's Cabelas, it is what it is. Most of the stuff there is very expensive, especially hunting clothing. The bargain cave can be a joke, stuff is still way over priced even when they have "slashed" the price. You can occasionally find good deals on ammo, rarely good deals on firearms. Never thought I'd ever agree with the gun-grabbing Democrats, but there might be a problem with background checks - not with the system itself, but with the people in charge of executing them. Take, for instance, the people at Cabela's... My wife and I picked out a good starter rifle for her. The guy that helped us find the rifle was great - very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately, the pleasantries stopped there. Now my wife is a permanent resident with a green card and filled out the background check accordingly. For those of you that don't know, it is legal for a green card holder to have a gun (at least until the liberals get that law changed). We were told that this kind of background check could take three hours and up to three days. No problem, call us when its done - which they did 15 minutes later. They said everything was done and to come pick up the rifle. We showed up the next day to pick up the rifle. Now at this point, we should be able to just pay for it and go - done deal. No. They started looking at the paperwork again and said that my wife needed a hunting license for her visa. Now, I'm no expert on immigration, but I know the difference between a visa and a green card. Apparently these "experts" don't. As my wife tried to explain to these idiots (with her green card in hand, mind you), I couldn't help but wonder how they got there jobs at this store. After about 10 minutes of arguing, they said we'd have to do another background check. It was pretty obvious that we were not gonna get anywhere with these people, so we asked for our money back. After about 10 more minutes of the guy behind the counter trying to get the return amount correct, we ended up getting the cost of the rifle back - followed by a gift card. What's this for? For the cost of the background check. After everything we went through with these people, they actually think we're gonna shop there again? I had to leave the store then before they'd call the cops on me for using excessive profanity on them. I haven't been that angry in years! So we ended up losing about $20 in the whole exchange. Anyway, while we still have the right to buy firearms in this country, don't waste your time at Cabela's. We're never going back there again, obviously. read more

I ordered a bow for my son's bday turns out bear did not deliver on time. As it turned out my boy wanted camouflage and I had ordered something else. Went to customer service to see if we could switch the bow, no problem. And because bear was going to be late we would get free shipping out of town. Talia, Tyler, and Jim all went out of there way to make sure I had a positive customer experience. This the second time Jim has jumped in to make sure I keep coming back. Great Store with Great Staff.....but what they call they call the Cabela's Deli is no more a deli that Taco Bell ! I had their Chicken Club...what a disgusting sandwich. Chicken breast had been microwaved so many times it was like stringy chicken jerky. The bacon on the sandwich was under cooked, nasty chewy and full of fat ! Why would a company as good as Cabela's even permit the sale of such a nasty food product in their store ???????????????? Plenty of quality fast food in the area of the store. I live 15 minutes from this store so I shop there quite often. I noticed on my last four visits to Cabela's that they did not have the product I was looking for at the store. When asked I've been told that it's out of season, you can buy it online, they don't carry that product anymore. My two star rating is because this is a huge beautiful store that has a lot of stuff that I don't need. And in all actuality excluding the Cabela's name brand stuff they have very little selection. read more

I am a true Cabela's fan. Even though there north Denver location isn't the biggest. They still have a really great location with plenty of choices and products. There service is outstanding. Michael helped us with our purchase, and he spent more than enough time with us to satisfy our needs. I have made several trips to Cabela's this year and plan to make many more. read more
