Husband and sons are into hunting and fishing. This place has everything under the sun for such activities. Camping and boating equipment items are available for any sportsman. Lots of taxidermy displays that may not be everyone's cup of tea. Great aquarium for kids to be entertained.

I was staying at the Holiday Inn and the restaurant there was horrible. My wife had the car during the day so I walked about the neighborhood. The food here was so much better than the one at the hotel.

Warning: If taxidermy is a trigger issue for you, you are best skipping this place altogether. If you like to hunt, fish, camp or otherwise shed the bonds of 21st century civilization, this is the place for you. This location dwarfs the ones in the twin cities and is mindbogglingly big. It is so roomy that there are whole scenes of stuffed critters in the back section. If you are not here to gawk at the macabre sight of still animals, there is a vast assortment of clothing, equipment, and firearms. There is a cafe upstairs if you feel a bit famished. There is also a bargain cave where they liquidated some of their stock. Selection here is second to none. I have my eye on an 80L dehydrator. You never know when you might want to dry an elephant.

This is a great store for everyone. They have a great variety of hunting gear, fishing gear, and other outdoor items - including clothes. The store is layed out well - everything is easy to find. There's a taxidermy collection here with animals from all over the world, from leopards to Polar bears. (The kids think it's pretty cool... so do the adults ;) ). There's also a small aquarium in the fishing section. There is a small cafeteria and a fudge shop on the upper level. I had some lemon merengue pie, which was very good (and only 99 cents per slice!)

The trip takes about 2 hours if the river is flowing fast but in Aug 2021, the river was super low and they said that it was taking folks 3-5 hours. You leave your car at the take-out and they shuttle you up. I only had 2 hours. I called and they left a kayak out for me at the Dundas take-out. In the morning, I paddled up river to the Cannon River Wilderness Area (I'd guess 2 miles) and then paddled back to the take-out. It was really pretty. It is all trees along this section of river. I saw lots of birds. I think the part in the wilderness area is even nicer so do the 7-mi trip if you have time. If you do the trip when the river is low, make sure to take shoes for walking in the river. You'll need to get out and drag the boat sometimes. So like tennis shoes not flip flops. The owner was super nice and helpful on the phone.

The snowshoe hike was moved near Northfield, MN and alot more hills and climbing than expected. However, we did get a great view of the ice caves. Also, the sandwiches and soup was delicious. At the end, we had a nice winetasting before heading back home. Our guides were the best and made everyone felt at ease without pushing too hard.

I don't know if they were trying to pull off the Bass Pro Shops idea or what but it really didn't work. We went in looking for hockey equipment and the selection here was incredibly limited, which is surprising considering the area. My husband was looking for higher end stuff, and of course they didn't really have very many options for what little they carried. I guess this place would get the job done if you have to gear up a little kid, but to be honest spending the kind of money they were asking for the level of equipment they have seems pretty silly to me. The employee that we had to hunt down for help was not very useful at all, and it was obvious he didn't know much about the equipment that was in the section he worked in. You could tell he knew enough to retail sale, but not really recommend. In any case, Play It Again Sports is a better option close by.

(Steven Wright) If you're hunting for quality sportsmen gear, this is the best spot locally to tackle your tackle list. That's no fish tale! THE LURE: The store is close to Bay Point Park boat launch, making it a convenient stop for fishing gear or licenses before you head out on the Mississippi River. THE LINE: Four Seasons carries solid inventory on fishing, archery, and hunting equipment. For the lady aiming for fishing boat chic, there's a pink sweatshirt with your name on it! There's even a pink tackle box for the matchy matchy look, but women's sunglasses would be a great add so one doesn't have to buy a manly pair in a pinch. THE CAST: Employees won't ambush you with pressure sales tactics or stalk you like prey, but they are enthusiastic to help if you look confused when your father sends you in for products you can't find. They are also fantastic with questions about the river, nearby lakes, and where fish are biting. I give this store 4.3 jigs for their excellent customer service and inventory! Now go catch yourself a lunker!
