We are haggling over a $140. They sent me a none functioning gun barrel. Was all rusted and froze up . I cleaned it up so it could be sold but decided I didn't want it they offered to return it . I was guaranteed complete refund including shipping both ways . I have sent the barrel back post office says it has been delivered they say they don't have it . Well im out gun and $140. Remington rifle was sent there buy remington for warranty work. they must be the lowest bidder for warranty work. Gun has had ejection and extraction problems and still does after they worked on it twice. Remington is now going to replace the gun as they could not fix it. read more

Ahlman's has every gun you can imagine. Big selection, friendly & knowledgable staff. Fair prices. They even had 454 casull bullets, which is a rare find. It's fun to see the woolly mammoth and various other critters on the inside and there's an old west style shooting range on the outside. This is worth your time if you are going to Cabela's to look at weapons. Take the 15 extra minutes drive. You'll be glad you did. read more

Very disappointing service. My husband ordered an accessory to a gun. We received notification that it shipped, we were charged for the item, but did not receive it. When we reached back out to Ahlman's we were told "Nothing we can do". Now we are out the money and will not be purchasing from them in the future. read more

If you're not a local don't expect good service. I bought a used browning superposed there and wanted to restore it as well. While waiting for background check I was sent to the service counter. An employee was sitting at a stool blocking the counter talking to a rep of some sort. He ignored me a few minutes , when he did acknowledge me he was going to bark at me for having my gun cased, not realizing I just bought the thing. Finally a service person came and couldnt give me a quote because the bluing and wood guy wasn't there. He also told me it'd be 6-8 months almost implying not to waste my time there. So I then went back to gun counter and was told my background check went through. No "thanks for the purchase" or hand shake. The customer service here will kill this business. They act annoyed if you're not local. Little do they realize it's not the locals that keep that place open. I'll find another place. I'm old school and want good customer service when spending hard earned money read more

Every year my husband and I go to the Shooters Round up held by Ahlmans. And every year we have a blast..... except this year. I went directly into the store to get some beef jerky. I grabbed what I wanted then stood patiently by the cash register waiting my turn. When the gun buying customers in front of me finished the cashier walked away to help some one else. Leaving me standing there. This happened 3 more times by 3 different sales persons. No one stopped to help me they went for the gun sales. I was ready to leave the event completely but I calmed myself down and walked away. I have worked retail for 28 years and if I had done that to ANYONE at ANYTIME I would of been reprimanded and suspended. I have worked in stores where Black Friday makes this event seem like childs play. There was no call for it. All the vendors else where on the grounds were polite and friendly. Maybe your sales people could take lessons from them!! read more

Terrible customer service. Bought online gun and did FFL transfer at Ahlman's employees had a huge attitude about putting them out of business. Said they were doing me a big favor. Charged $35 per transfer. Asked me why I didn't buy it from them. This is a gun I would not have bought from anyone in the first place but for the internet deal. read more

So I went here to see what they have and with a particular rifle in mind to compare their prices with other stores. This store is literally in the middle of nowhere and I was half expecting it to be someone's garage. But the establishment is pretty nice. Going in and taking a look around through the racks upon racks of weapons not seeing the rifle I had in mind, I asked one of the employees about it. This man had irritated me so bad with not only how rude he was but his demeanor. I don't think he could patronize me any further, I may not be an expert but I know what I'm talking about. He wasn't only rude with me but to someone who had called the store. He interrupts me mid-sentence to answer the call but to hang up on the caller mid-sentence because they were too quiet (I could hear them from the 4 feet I was away from him) and it must've frustrated him. The store itself is great. Great number of weapons and everything you'd need. The staff is why I'll never return to this store and never recommend it to anyone else. My guess is this place is run off the buddy system, if you don't frequent the store enough or are coming in to make a purchase that day, your the outsider and the staff will ignore you until you go up to them, and even when you do they treat you like the outsider.
