It's time for a revamp, and I'll throw in the last star! Ready? Here we go! This store is located right off of I-78/US-22. We were en route to certain parts of PA, and we decided to stop here for a brief restroom break and just look around to see what was available.
For Yelpers who don't know what Cabela's is, it's one of those big stores that sell merchandise to those who love spending plenty of time in the great outdoors on land or sea. They sell weapons and accessories for hunting and recreational shooting ranges, supplies for fishing and camping, vehicles for outdoor adventures (RVs, ATVs, etc.), and boats (with accessories). They also have a huge selection of clothing and footwear for the outside adventurers, video games and hobby-related merchandise, games and toys for the kids, and accessories for the home and cabin. They also have a cafe here too, and keep in mind that some of what they serve may surprise you.
We were here 3 years ago since our relative told us a lot about this place and said that we should visit. We spent a few hours last time looking through everything and seeing if we needed anything back for NJ. A lot of the prices here were quite competitive. But this time, we only looked and photo-snapped at the animal displays and aquariums since we had other attractions that we needed to experience at in PA. So what were the animal displays showing?
Towards the back of the store, they had a huge display of animals hanging around at a mountain area. Such animals included deer, moose, polar bears, and some turkeys. Right next to that display is a pond with a bridge. In that pond is a moose sculpture with LIVE fish swimming on the bottom. Pretty cool, huh? Oh sure, but there's more.
Towards the right of the store in the back is a separate room filled with more animal displays hanging around in the wild. Such animals include lions, elephants, gazelles, hippos, and alligators. Towards the left of the store in the back is another separate room that simply displayed deer hanging around in the forest. Also in that room was a robot who told a story about life in the wilderness by the push of a button. I pressed it, and even though the story was interesting, the mouth itself didn't move very well with the words. Oh well.
Lastly, we made our way to the aquarium. This was towards the right of the store in the front. This was a small area that showed different species of live fish swimming around in their water tanks. This was enjoyable to see.
The restrooms here were clean. The fact that no one had to pay extra to view the animal displays or aquariums was awesome. My relative said you could spend the whole day here on your first visit. Really? I don't think so, and we didn't during our first visit. However, you should plan to spend a few hours so you can see what they have in stock and view the animal displays and aquariums. Enjoy!! read more
