It had been years since my visit to Kinsey's, but when my son wanted a compoundbow, we took a recon trip to see what they had to offer...and returned two weeks later to make the purchase. We visietd on a Tuesday night when the store was quiet, and our salesman could not have been better to help outfit,educate, and fit him to a quality Mathews Mission bow. The fitting invoved a few trips to the indoor range to tune-in his weight and draw, and he offered a few other tipson his stance and use of the peep sight to help his accuracy. When it came time to put a sight, rest, and peep on, hehelped us find what was reasonable, not what was unnecessary for a beginner. We walked out very happy with the purchase, the education, and the attention given to make sure this bow was the right one for him. Archery lessons are available ($25/hr), and a 3-D archery range is available and was being used, much to the amusement of our kids, who watched the results on the monitor at the main counter. In addition to the full archery shop, Kinsey has a full gun department, and has hunting clothing, gear, calls, boots, and a fishing department that is not as large as the hunting area, but is still stocked. Prices for the bows seemed standard. No higher, no lower than competitors. I like this store, even if it is 35 minutes from home. I will not hesitatle to keep the bow serviced there or to make future purchases with them. read more

Saw a Kinsey's Outdoors sponsored gun on Gunbroker.com. Called and verified if they would hold it for me at the advertised bid base price. Traveled to the store, met with a professional and friendly young man who not only took guns out of stock to match the wood grain I wanted, but also helped me look at several other guns that I was interested in to include when other manufactured models and when to expect another sale on that model. Kinsey's saved me $140 from the manufacturer's advertised price. Great deal for me. They followed up on my satisfaction with a direct mailer thanking me for the purchase and offered me 10% off on another purchase, no matter what I bought. read more

Horrible experience, and not because of the store, rather because of Steve, the oaf, who was unfortunately the person at the counter when I picked up my firearm. After waiting over 2 hours (not a problem, I'm a patient man), he had the temerity to tell me, "you don't mind waiting another 10 minutes while I take care of this guy, do you?" I said yes, I do mind I've been here over 2 hours, my PICS is cleared and approved, everything's complete, let's finish this. Still, he made me wait while he fumbled around showing another customer who showed up after my transaction completed. Clearly, he did it on purpose just be a horse's rear end and trying to push his weight around. The entire time I waited, I observed him doling out bad advice to potential customers and just being a big blowhard. On a positive note, Dianne  was actually the one who informed me that my clearance was complete, even though she was busy doing a million other things. Seriously, I regret not having her take care of me. While Steve just sat there like a bump on a log, she was the one who engaged customers asking them if they needed help. In the meantime, Steve was just taking up space and making everyone's experience negative. What a bozo! read more

Yet another outdoor/gun shop in the E-town Mt Joy area. Every time I go in, the store's empty.

Their gun selection includes some real nice higher end stuff and the staff knows what they are talking about. I found them very informative. I didn't know about their mailing list for flyers (with coupons) but I am on it now. This wasn't my first gun purchase there and it wont be my last. The prices on guns are at least in line with other shops, I couldn't have got a better deal anywhere else, and most important they had the gun on the rack - The 10% off coupon was an unexpected bonus. read more

Then she alerted me about an upcoming sale and mail-in rebate. I ended up saving $200 on a gun that would have been out of my price range without the savings. This shop is all around fantastic. I called in looking for a very old, very specific rifle while I was at work. Joy was the clerk who helped me and I couldn't have been more pleased. She was smart, pleasant and extremely helpful. She held the rifle for me until I was able to make the trip down that night. While there I was so impressed by the cleanliness and organization of the shop, as well as how friendly and laid-back the staff were. An amazing selection of both guns and accessories as well as hunting and archery equipment. This is the shop that other shops should strive to imitate. read more

Was just here at Kinsey's. What a great selection of firearms. Guys there were friendly and showed me different options. I have not been at this store for some time and was impressed by selection (albeit they tend to be a little pricey) but I want to see something in person and hold it in my hands.
