Large sporting goods store, well organized and well staffed, yet actual customer service is not a focus.

I went on a whim into ASICS. I've had a few Gel Frantic pair in the past and I was looking for an…read moreupdated pair. ASICS no longer makes this line, so I was looking for a running shoe and hiking shoe that would compare. I informed Autumn that I was under pronating and that I needed a shoe that would balance my feet. I also had a wide foot and a color preference. Autumn worked with me, having me try different styles in under-pronating shoes, wide, non-wide, size 11 and 11 1/2 pairs. We came across two pair that I love. One was a Gel Nimbus 21 with lite tape for evening runs. The other was the Alpine XT for hiking trails. Both are very comfortable. The Gel Nimbus in particular feels as good as a foot massage! Autumn was very patient and attentive through the whole process. The store had a buy-one, get-one free sale. So I'm happy that I saved money on the shoe I needed to buy and was able to get a high-quality running shoe!

I've been wearing these Asics gel nimbus 27, I bought on Black Friday for $112 very lightly, mostly a day or two over the weekend for a couple hours each day to run errands in, such as grocery store or going out to eat somewhere, I mainly wear my Hoka Bondie 9s for working in and my oofoo slides around the house and for other errands in the warmer weather. About 3 weeks ago I switched to using the asics full time mon-thur for work approx 9 hours a day, in a dental office, only because they match my new dress code color and my hokas do not. In the 3 weeks I've been wearing these shoes not even making 6,000 steps a day, the fabric on top has started to separate in a clear straight line, straight across the top of the shoe. Not a tear, not a snag, not a hole. But A clear odd separation in the fabric, almost like a box cutter went across it. And it's only presented since I started wearing them daily. Filled out the form, sent the photos. They are claiming this is just normal wear and tear. These shoes are made for heavy use such as running and should certainly be able to hold up to casual light use. I've maybe worn them a total of 90 days since purchased. I have never had this happen to any shoe, not even the cheap $30 Walmart shoes I used to wear. My hokas have lasted 2 years of 4 days a week use and are still in great condition, just a little dirty. The company is refusing to acknowledge that this is a stitching defect and refusing to honor the warranty that they sell these overpriced shoes with. Since they seem to deny every claim, as you will see in countless other reviews, I asked for a list of things they do consider to be a manufacturer warrenty defect, they refused to give any information on that, of course. I will not be giving them my business and I will be telling everybody I know not to waste their money. These weren't cheap, but I guess paying the extra 50 bucks for a better quality shoe that's going to last is the way to go.
