As a business owner myself, I'm very aware of good attitudes when I encounter them. 5 stars!! Great place! As a brand new gun owner, I was never made to feel stupid, no matter what silly I asked.. and there were some stupid ones!! Steve is an amazing , patient instructor ( former teacher), so that's where he gets it from. I took a 6 hour "intro to handgun" safety course with Steve, and while I definitely have a healthy respect for firearms, my sheer fear has been replaced with knowledge. I try to stop by weekly , and each time I come away with a bit more knowledge than last time. Steve showed me how to break down and clean my firearm. The indoor range is safe, and professionally supervised. Luke Tyler and Andy are always ready to help! I shopped other gun shops near me, and as soon as I announced that I am a total newbie, the snickers, and poor attitude became apparent.Some gun shops I've learned can be very cliquey, and they often seem to ridicule brand new gun owners. Deserves zero stars.---I purchased an antique gun from Luke, over the phone. In his advertisement, it was said to have a rifled bore. I asked him, both in emails and over the phone, to MAKE SURE it was a rifle. "Oh yeah its rifled, its got a nice bore" is what he told me. I make the transaction, receive the gun, and lo and behold it is a smoothbore. Luke did not even take the time to look in the bore (the only request I made), and then lied to me. I called him immediately upon discovering this, and he said to return the gun and I would be refunded. He had the gun back in his possession 4 days later. After a few weeks passed and I still had not received my refund, I give him a call to check up on things. This guy has the audacity to huff in my ear and tells me he is waiting on the CONSIGNOR to return the money to him, and then he would refund me. I thought to myself, this guy is kidding right? Wrong. It took 6 MONTHS for this guy to return my money. This was only after much prodding and bothering and getting the other owner involved, who happens to be Luke's father. He also seemed to be perfectly fine with extracting the money from the consignor, even though this whole debacle was clearly their fault. Unbelievable. These guys have zero accountability. I would NEVER do business with these people. Not as a buyer OR a consignor. BEWARE! Terrible ethics, terrible attitudes, Luke will not hesitate to lie to you on first contact. They don't want to honor their own policy on returns 'only if the item has been misrepresented'. They thought they could take me for $650 because I'm 1250 miles away. They were wrong. Those two are purebred scumbags. read more

If you're going to close your business during posted business hours at least have the courtesy to post you'll be closed... you know, like, outside the building or at least on your website... I guess I just wasted 2 hours driving for no reason. Probably removing you from the list of stores I go to. Appreciate having my time wasted... A "sorry we're closed and for wasting your time driving here" would have been nice... especially considering you were inside answering the phone... read more

Great gun shop and indoor shooting range. I've bought both guns and ammo here at very fair prices!

My NRA instructor took me to Enck's, as I was looking for a revolver and she thought they would have a good selection. After going to a number of gun shops, I found exactly what I wanted here. A beautiful Ruger revolver and the owners are a wealth of knowledge and we learned so much from Bob, his wife and grandson. Amazing customer service and no pressure to buy. We will be going back for sure. These family owned gun shops, who live and breath it, are becoming a lost breed. read more

Took rifle to have 8" cut off of barrel and re threaded. When I pick up gun I was billed $200 + $9.50 (thread protector that I didn't ask for or need cause the gun had one from the factory, that they tried to keep, then told me that the factory thread protector wouldn't fit but the same threads 1/2-28 where machined on it) + $6.66 (credit card service fee). They "let" me return it, gave me store credit. Everyone at the store seemed like they wanted to start an argument with me, had bad attitudes. I have worked at firearm stores and the owners would never have had an attitude like the owner of Enck's Gun Barn had with me, but they never would have tried to sneak up-charges for things unneeded or unwanted. Barn is a good name for the business cause that is where is belongs and if they keep doing business like this experience that is where they will end up. Was looking forward to have a good shop with gun smith and indoor range but this isn't it. I will take all my business and shooting clubs business elsewhere. read more

If you go here don't expect customer service or a friendly atmosphere. Especially if Ron waits on you he is rude obnoxious and has the mouth of a truck driver. I asked a question and was told to figure it out myself. Some of the staff is unknowledgeable on different guns and bullets, it's a shame but I won't be going back here read more

This place is awesome on every level! A guy from my gun club recommended them to me, so I Googled their name and it led me to their site. FYI, their website is awesome as well. When I arrived at the neat and clean store, set back in a nice country location not too far from Middle Creek, I was instantly impressed. Walking inside my impression became even better. I was quickly greeted with a hello and someone asking how they could help me. Their prices are awesome and I have been hard-pressed to find any that are better. Selection is great and any guns that aren't there they can usually have in stock in just a few days. I give this establishment "thumbs up" in all regards and my only wish is that I would have found them sooner! I have already purchased 2 guns from them and look forward to more! read more

I took 5 of my sons and a daughter-in-law (all adults) for my son's birthday. Most of the group had never shot a handgun before and we needed rentals and range time. We had a great time and would definitely go back. The whole staff, including instructors, were very helpful and friendly, especially considering we booked during football time on a Sunday! The total cost was very reasonable. Would have cost us more to go bowling. Looking forward to returning and making a purchase or two there as well. read more

As luck would have it I had reason to be in the area and stopped in to find the best customer service experience I've ever enjoyed in a gun store. Their selection and regularly updated online inventory got me in, but the experience with every member this family run business will have me coming back. I just started to get interested in Cowboy Action Shooting and found Enck's to be helpful and knowledgeable and best of all has the best prices. I have purchased a shotgun and a new Winchester 73. They slicked up the shootgun for free and did an action job on my Bisley Rugers. When I lost a part for the Winchester, I found that the part is not yet available from WInchester, but Enck's made one for me. Now that's service. read more

Best shop in the area, best shop period. The staff is friendly (they do not make you feel uncomfortable or unwelcomed like many gun shop staff members do). They are genuinely interested in helping you. They listen to your questions and offer advice from a fellow shooter stand point (not from a sales standpoint). Just the other day we stood there for over twenty minutes waiting to be assisted while the guy working was gabbing about everyday stuff with what appeared to be a friend. Place is awesome. First I wanted to support a local family business instead of a superstore. They do have a great selection. I first purchased my Glock and Governor from them 6 years ago and took their beginner lesson with Steve. He was very knowledgeable and patiently taught me safety and how to shoot. But I hadn't fired my gun for 6 years after that. I So I went in with my daughter and her fiancee the other day and told them I was very nervous about shooting again. My daughter also is a beginner and felt nervous. They arranged for Jim to help us in the shooting range. I basically had to relearn how to shoot all over again. Jim went beyond what I expected. He made me feel very comfortable and walked me through it all over again. I am feeling pretty good about shooting again. Will be back hopefully on a regular basis now that I am over my fear of shooting. OK, I am still fearful but much improved! Great experience every time I have been there. My daughter and her fiancee purchased guns there also. Great place and customer oriented. Go there you won't be disappointed! read more
