Cabelas is the best! The atmosphere is amazing, the stock is great (when they have stock), even the creepy animals in the center of the store somehow add a weird magic to the store. Maybe magic isn't the right word, lol, but they add to the vibe. I wonder if they were actually killed or if they are fake. Ima go with..they're fake and just made for the stores lol Because of what's happening in this country and that started last year, we have seen prices SKYROCKET and stock go way down. When I was here, you could see the results of poor leadership that poured over to this store...along with basically any store we go into nowadays. Did it take away from how bad ass Cabelas is? Nah, not really. Sucked when I was looking for something and they didn't have it, but it's just a great store and I love going in there whenever I can. The staff is always super helpful, there are plenty of them too. So if you say "there was no help anywhere" You's a dayuuuum lie haha! Because they are posted up all over. Even with stock low, they still have staff to help in every corner of the store. Their prices, yes, increased, but if you hunt around in there, you can definitely find some great deals. I imagine it's a fun place to work. Awesome atmosphere, great people, always busy no matter what, I mean how could anyone not like working there? Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it lol. And look at that, I managed to do a short review!! Round of applause for me hahaha! I mean, what else can I say about this place? Everyone and their mother has been here. So I can't say anything new, right? Lol The Boise location is a great one for sure and we are lucky to have them. Thanks for reading, Yelphunters lol Cheers!

Cabela's has some great displays! I love the recreated mountain replete with stuffed/mounted animals. The two large aquariums are also great -- the turtles are my favorite. It's especially nice that many of the animals and fish are identified. In addition, they stock a wide variety of quality clothing, gear, supplies, etc. What a great place to shop!

This place is awesome!! The employees were very helpful and pleasant. Spent a lot of $$$... but every penny was worth it considering we live in overpriced California (born and raised) Haha.

Certain staff, specifically Addison's tone when speaking to customers is very inappropriate and dismissive.

Great place for all of your outdoor needs! They even have local fishing gear. I was surprised by the great selection. Good going Cabela's.

There is a nice display of stuffed animals in their natural habitat, there are large fish tanks, and there is a priceless display of Elmer Keith's guns and other artifacts.

Lemme tell you! Ok so REI is obviously a great store. There are some things about them I can't…read morestand..:like when they get involved in political crap. That ruins the vibe for me for any business. It's still a great store, but people need to shut up with getting involved in anything that has absolutely nothing to do with sporting goods, outdoor activities etc or whatever their business is. REI is crazy expensive tho! Ooooh! So Al's just opened. I was sad to see the trampoline park close and leave. Sports Authority was at this location at one time too. Mittens was on the board, soooo...ahhh! Never mind lol. They closed. Sad. Anyway, finally a store goes in there. Obviously we are talking about AL's. This store is fantastic. I know it's going to be pricey eventually, but when we went in, the sales they were having were amazing. They had great prices on almost everything. With Christmas coming up, too, I'm sure their sales will once again be epic. They have all kinds of top brands. North Face, Patagonia, etc. Any place that carries Patagonia is ok in my book...even if Patagonia is another company that gets too political way too often. They make great jackets tho. I've had my R3 for like 17 years and still looks new. So walking into Al's and seeing they sell Pats, made me happy. Pats in general are very expensive. So if they happen to have these on sale, don't hesitant to pick one up. Same goes for a lot of the other name brands they have here. Great store for hunters, for anyone who loves kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, I mean, it's just a great store. I'm usually iffy on these chain stores, but I think this one is mainly specific to this area of the country, PNW, and obviously Utah and ugh, I'm sure California as well..at least Northern California? Who knows. Most people I know have already been. My hunter friends are in love with this place. They have gotten some insane deals here. However, if you haven't been, you definitely need to check it out...especially now that the Christmas season is like a day away from officially beginning. No, it doesn't start the day after Halloween lol. We got a few things here when we went. One thing was a flashlight. There was a guy in that section, wish I remembered his name. His main job is he's a fireman. I remember at least that much. This guy was such a great help. Knew the products well, super friendly, perfect teeth haha, and I mean, he was fun to look at. Sorry, had to throw that last bit in haha, because shiiiieeeet! Hahaha! Super nice guy. Everyone we came across that works there was great and eager to help. I hope this place succeeds. That spot it's in is a weird one. It seems to do good elsewhere and with Boise being a huge outdoor city, I can't see this place actually failing. I can only see it flourish and I hope it does. Check it out. Thanks for reading, YelperAl's!! Cheers!

In the past couple years, I hate how Dicks added their political views to everything. I just wish businesses and whatnot would stfu about their political views. I don't shop at a place because they're super conservative or if they ...super liberal. I go to businesses if they have what I want. So when places add their two cents, specifically on anything political...it ruins them for me. I know I'm not alone in this. Seriously, shut up. We wanna buy sneakers or a water bottle, we dgaf what side of the aisle you stand on. Ok that's my rant on that lol. I rarely go here. This was my 2nd time in this store since it opened. They opened 6 years ago, maybe? I went in right after and then this time. I was at Petco next door and needed to check out their weightlifting belts. Reasonable prices on that but everything else....priiiiicey! If you shop at Dicks, you know this tho. Checked out some of their sale items and if you can get something on sale (depending on what it is) their prices can be pretty good. Big 5 is next door...right next door. The huge corporate stores love to do that to the smaller stores like Big 5. Big 5 is a better store, but of course they don't carry as much. Their prices are certainly better and makes happy this location hasn't been forced out because of the giant Dicks (lol) right next to it. There's a Big 5 minutes from my house too, so I go there more. Dicks is across from the mall so if I am In that area I may think of going in, but like I said, this was the 2nd time in 6 years that I've been in that store. I just don't care to go in that much lol. Staff was friendly tho and super helpful. So they have that going for them. Aside from that, I know this review won't help anyone lol. You either love this place or just don't care about it. Everyone knows it exists so yeah, you either go or don't. So many just order online which when it comes to places like Dicks, it's fine otherwise I love supporting small mom and pop/local shops. Ok I'm done writing about this place lol. If you've read this far, thanks! If not, I understand lol. Thanks, Yelpederers! Cheers!

I decided to grab 2 pairs of hiking shoes as well since I wasnt sure how long the crisis was going to last, I had a camping trip planned mid June and I didnt want to venture out shopping later with the crowds if I could help it. I asked the cashier the return policy, she said they wouldn't he taking returns until after 5/31, I could return any of my unworn, unused merchandise. I also grabbed 1 sports bra and tank top. when I went home I wore the cheaper hiking pair around the house and they felt too tight. I put them back in the box with the receipt to hang on until May to return and decided to keep the clothing and more expensive pair of shoes. I never tried on the other hiking shoes again or took them outside. the box stayed in my closet. Here I am 6/4, receipt in hand and went to return them for a small 24$ refund- mind you I kept a 89$ pair of shoes and clothing- the girl at the register inspects the box and calls for her manager. They inspect my receipt, which has no timeframes or restrictions and ask me what's wrong with the shoes? To which I answer, truly nothing other than they were a little tight, I kept the other pair- the manager tells me he cant accept my return, they can only take return merchandise that can be RESOLD.. I let him know when I bought them almost 3 months ago the store associate told me they would take them as long as they were unworn and in the box! and my shoes cant be returned because they dont carry them now which is definitely not my fault as the consumer. He then throws them back in the box and says we will do it this one time and walks away leaving the poor cashier to awkwardly hand me my cash refund which before I would have taken store credit. I simply didnt want the shoes. after being treated so poorly I wont bother spending anymore time or money here.
