Although this place has a lot of things for sale, beware. Some of the powder he sells is old. Some canisters have been open and and partially used. His pricing is at his whim. I made a trip there and picked up a product, price tag was $71.00 and there was a sale tag over that for $43.00. I wold have paid the $71.00 but the cashier said he had to ask Cliff. When Cliff came over he said "All the parts are here, the price is $100.00." I pointed out the price tag and he blamed an 80 year old guy who works for him, along with other employees for not doing their job properly. I found this curious because 3 weeks earlier I was in the shop and Cliff tried to sell me the exact same product for $71.00. I like this place. All the people I've talked to there are very nice and will tell you the truth. Going to a gun shop can feel weird sometimes because sometimes people who collect guns are odd people, but I can honestly say these guys were very much approachable and felt like they had integrity. read more

Had not been in Cliff's since they were over on Five Mile Rd. Went in looking for a couple of mags for my wife's M&P Shield .380 and pleasantly surprised they had them (I had checked multiple places in town) but they were also a few dollars per mag less than Scheels. Cliff's is the place to go with cartridge reloading components, or reloading questions. They have a load of safes, both new and used to store your valuables in too. Some people have suggested that their dog is surly, but I do not agree. I think she is very friendly and she is very good for my blood pressure. Cliff's staff is great too in my estimation. Cliff's moved to their Fairview location about a half year ago. Their new store is laid out nicely, clean, well organized and plenty of inventory. Lots of help and knowledgeable, all armed, of course. Went in to look at .380s for the wife, but decided that for her needs a smaller caliber semi-auto was better. Confidence in use is as important as caliber. Prices were reasonable, not the cheapest, not the highest. They had many weapons I would like to add to my armory, but we'll see. Birthday is upcoming. :-) Now to train her for this particular weapon and teach her how to put her warface on, if necessary. Asked for rifled 12 gauge slugs for a smooth bore barrel and was sold slugs designed for a rifled barrel.

After many years of carrying concealed my two sons finally attained the age where they could get the permit too. It is not required except on campus and in courthouses in Idaho but that is a tremendous confidence builder for young people. Now even my wife is interested in joining in the fun and taking her permit class. Cliff's was the perfect place to find the exact perfect pistol for her after trying all of mine and mys sons's firearms. Cliff's is a boutique shop with everything there and most importantly they take the time to listen and to assist you in making the right choices in equipment. We purchased a s& w pistol Saturday. When we.drove home got on the internet to find more information found this new model is in recall and do not attempt to use as it will cause harm to the user. On 7/3/20 I called Cliff's to see if they had any primers for small rifles. The person on the phone said they did, and in quantities over 1000. So I said I would come in to buy some. When I got there, I was told that they would sell primers only to patrons who also purchased bullets at the same time. This is clearly bait and switch sales tactics, and also just plain bad business. I left angry, and am done doing business with this firm. They can not be trusted. read more

This place has everything you need for your next gun/ammo/accessory purchase. I just don't like being treated like a child or feel like I'm inconveniencing the employees when I ask questions. Their new location on Fairview definitely is a step up both in size and quality. The old place seemed cramped and busy, and the new place is much cleaner and larger. They seem to have a pretty good collection of rifles, pistols, and shotguns for sale at decent prices. My only beef with them is Cliff's continual gouging of .22 LR prices, especially when everyone else in the valley is back to normal prices. $65 for a brick (500 rounds) of Remington .22 (some of the lowest quality .22 ammo produced), when I can go to any other place and get the same thing for $25 or less? It's inexcusable. Just the other day I was in there and overheard an employee telling a customer that they were the only place in the valley that had .22. That's a flat-out lie. I went to three other gun stores that day, and two of them had just as much .22 as Cliff's, for much better prices. I hate to talk trash about a local gun store, but Cliff's just leaves me no other choice. read more

Cliffs guns safes and reloading is by far the worst price gougers I have ever seen in my life!!! They treat their customers as if they are lucky to even be allowed in the doors. You will be treated like your bothering them while your there. If your not a buddy of theirs dont expect to be treated like your business is even wanted. Ask a question and they act like your taking up their time to talk with their buddy. They were selling primer boxes marked NOT FOR RESALE at an incredible $200 a box of 1000. They want more for primers then loaded ammo costs. Most of us reload partly because of cost. 5x cheaper to load your own. Not at cliffs, if you buy from them you will pay double or triple to be a reloader. They also buy cheap bullets then repack them and sell them at a premium. I bought some 44 cal projectiles from them (so I could have permission to buy primers at the time for $100). Well when I got home I needed to know if the bullets were plated or jacketed, so I called and asked what brand they were and was told they were Berrys bullets. Well I use berrys and Berrys bullets don't have crimp grooves, well these they sold me do. So they repacked them and sold them as a different product, or just make up off the top of their head what they sold me. In addition during this hard time they demanded you purchase a certain amount of their products just to be allowed to purchase primers at that outrageous price!! If we were a hurricane state these folks at cliffs would be selling bottles of water for $10 each GUARANTEE! They DO NOT CARE about their customers satisfaction in the least, in fact dont even care to have customers, why when ya only need a couple buyers when your gouging folks this hard. I cant tell you how many folks I have spoke with in the last 2 years that swear they will never go to cliffs again because of their price gouging and just being all around jerks. Ask anyone thats not a "buddy" of cliffs employees and see what they say about going there, you will hear the same as I'm telling you. If ya want to be taken for all ya can be and treated as such then Cliffs is the place for you. Domt say you weren't warned. Good luck and avoid this place like the covid. read more

So I made a purchase at cliffs and asked if it did not fit if I could return it. I did not get a chance to speak to the salesman that worked with me instead it was Cliff. I told him that the screws were to small and if it was possible could I trade it for one with the right screws. I had no idea at the time that this was the case as I am not a gunsmith. So instead of helping me Cliff said he had some screws and I would have to custom fit them to my rail and my firearm. The screws were to long and he wanted to charge me for them too, then he gave me the number of a gunsmith and said I could take it there if I did not have the ability to customize my gun. He had not interest in helping me and he was not going to do anything for me. He acted all superior and like I was an idiot. I will go out of my to recommend you go anywhere else but cliffs. I have never met a ruder or more arrogant person in my life. I can assure you after 20 plus years in the USMC I have met some rude people but cliff takes the cake. I have no interest in giving cliffs any more business ever again. I will be telling all my contacts the same thing. read more
