I have been an active shooter in the treasure valley for 20+ years, but unfortunately, most gun…read moreshops give me a bit of a "holier than thou" vibe anytime I try to talk to them about firearms. I give off a "left leaning vibe" and I know I'm a minority in the 2A community, however, in all the times I have come in to Idaho Arms & Ammo, I have never been given anything other than a welcoming feeling. I've had other customers talk to me about a project I've had to drop off at the gunsmith, I've had great chats with all of the guys behind the counter, and the professionalism and respect that they've shown me every time I come by is why I will continue to bring them my business any chance I can. There aren't a lot of competent gunsmiths that still operate in their own shop, and considering how little I've had to pay on the handful of things I've dropped off, I'd absolutely say they are worth checking out if you haven't yet. Outside of the gunsmith, if you are new to firearms, uncomfortable by a more intimidating retail environment that has live fire, are looking for a little more 1x1 expertise, or are simply 2A curious, I would absolutely recommend a stop by.

Then I handed my 11-year-old eight boxes of .22 long rifle at $6.50 a piece and the guy with the beard immediately stated that it is a felony for him to even hold the boxes so I took the boxes back and as we were leaving and putting the boxes back on the shelf I told him that's not true and we left. I had intended on buying eight boxes at $6.50 each and another two boxes of 9 mm which I don't know how much they are as I did not get that far. I will NOT go back

My buddy asked if…read morethey had a specific Glock, and she replied that they're crap guns and they don't carry crap guns. It made for an awkward interaction. Then, the husband was getting bent out of shape and nervous while we were handling the rifles. Just a really odd experience. They seemed very "we stay off the grid" and "don't touch our stuff unless we give you permission." I won't be going back.

We left with a greater appreciation for the work these K9 teams do, and our kids haven't stopped talking about it. We highly recommend checking them out--we'll definitely be back!

The part I had installed (that I waited almost 10 weeks) for installation, broke. I brought it back to Midstar and he pointed me to another shop as he said Midstar currently doesn't have a gunsmith.
