Bought my first gun from Boise Black Rifle. They were super helpful with the buying process and made picking which weapon super easy and confident. Not disappointed at all. Special thanks to Joe and Vanessa for their kindness, assistance, and overall friendliness. Black rifle is the best wherever it's at previously lived in Sac and even there was amazing. Thanks again!

Pretentious and poorly managed. This store won't make it. Too much competition where there are professional and courteous employees. It's almost as if the guys couldn't make it as a sheriff so they now try to act mean to anybody that shows up. So sad.

STOP!!! Before you go any further, READ THIS!!! I kept seeing these guys pop up when I was searching for firearms online. I'm usually skeptical of the mainstream stores. Maybe it's just my experience, but I often get pushy guys, egos, and also they'll often have ridiculous prices on items I can find online for much cheaper. With that being said, these guys are awesome. I've gone in twice this week, and I've spoken to different workers each time. They're all super helpful, not pushy, and extremely knowledgeable. They're simply there to provide value. I chatted with them for over an hour each time, asking random questions, and at no point did they seem put out. They were more than happy to answer all questions. I have a couple of Staccatos and they had such a good price on one, that I bought another.... I may have an addiction, but that's another story. Point is these guys rock. I appreciate their advice, professionalism, and willingness to work with me. They even threw me a badass hat on the way out. Absolute class at this place. I highly recommend.

I have been an active shooter in the treasure valley for 20+ years, but unfortunately, most gun…read moreshops give me a bit of a "holier than thou" vibe anytime I try to talk to them about firearms. I give off a "left leaning vibe" and I know I'm a minority in the 2A community, however, in all the times I have come in to Idaho Arms & Ammo, I have never been given anything other than a welcoming feeling. I've had other customers talk to me about a project I've had to drop off at the gunsmith, I've had great chats with all of the guys behind the counter, and the professionalism and respect that they've shown me every time I come by is why I will continue to bring them my business any chance I can. There aren't a lot of competent gunsmiths that still operate in their own shop, and considering how little I've had to pay on the handful of things I've dropped off, I'd absolutely say they are worth checking out if you haven't yet. Outside of the gunsmith, if you are new to firearms, uncomfortable by a more intimidating retail environment that has live fire, are looking for a little more 1x1 expertise, or are simply 2A curious, I would absolutely recommend a stop by.

Allowed me to bring the magazine back free of charge if it didn't fit. Not many places allow you to do things like that. Will be back to buy more guns and gun accessories in the future.

Lemme tell you! Ok so REI is obviously a great store. There are some things about them I can't…read morestand..:like when they get involved in political crap. That ruins the vibe for me for any business. It's still a great store, but people need to shut up with getting involved in anything that has absolutely nothing to do with sporting goods, outdoor activities etc or whatever their business is. REI is crazy expensive tho! Ooooh! So Al's just opened. I was sad to see the trampoline park close and leave. Sports Authority was at this location at one time too. Mittens was on the board, soooo...ahhh! Never mind lol. They closed. Sad. Anyway, finally a store goes in there. Obviously we are talking about AL's. This store is fantastic. I know it's going to be pricey eventually, but when we went in, the sales they were having were amazing. They had great prices on almost everything. With Christmas coming up, too, I'm sure their sales will once again be epic. They have all kinds of top brands. North Face, Patagonia, etc. Any place that carries Patagonia is ok in my book...even if Patagonia is another company that gets too political way too often. They make great jackets tho. I've had my R3 for like 17 years and still looks new. So walking into Al's and seeing they sell Pats, made me happy. Pats in general are very expensive. So if they happen to have these on sale, don't hesitant to pick one up. Same goes for a lot of the other name brands they have here. Great store for hunters, for anyone who loves kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, I mean, it's just a great store. I'm usually iffy on these chain stores, but I think this one is mainly specific to this area of the country, PNW, and obviously Utah and ugh, I'm sure California as well..at least Northern California? Who knows. Most people I know have already been. My hunter friends are in love with this place. They have gotten some insane deals here. However, if you haven't been, you definitely need to check it out...especially now that the Christmas season is like a day away from officially beginning. No, it doesn't start the day after Halloween lol. We got a few things here when we went. One thing was a flashlight. There was a guy in that section, wish I remembered his name. His main job is he's a fireman. I remember at least that much. This guy was such a great help. Knew the products well, super friendly, perfect teeth haha, and I mean, he was fun to look at. Sorry, had to throw that last bit in haha, because shiiiieeeet! Hahaha! Super nice guy. Everyone we came across that works there was great and eager to help. I hope this place succeeds. That spot it's in is a weird one. It seems to do good elsewhere and with Boise being a huge outdoor city, I can't see this place actually failing. I can only see it flourish and I hope it does. Check it out. Thanks for reading, YelperAl's!! Cheers!

So now we have a treadmill, which will hopefully serve more of a purpose than just a display item in our family room. My cardio vascular system thanks Al's for being there for us!
