Yesterday me and my Grandson-in-law (or as I call him, Ted) went to the Independence Indoor Shooting Range to shoot for the first time shooting there. I purchased a one year Franklin Membership Annual a little over a month ago, but this is the first time I have been able to go shooting there. With the Franklin one year membership you get 5 guest passes and yesterday I used the first guess pass. To some it might be a little bit expensive but its also not 30 minutes to an hour drive out in the middle of the desert where half of the time you are out there you are taking what feels like hostile incoming gun fire and 104 degrees with no shade or freezing cold weather and the wind is always blowing. I retired from building and developing commercial projects and the land and a building like this is EXPENSIVE, before you add in the cost of all of the shooting range equipment. By the time you add in all the costs in to open the shooting range, the cost of using the shooting range is a very reasonable price. I have been in the store a dozen times just looking, its a nice store, but I have only shot there one time, so far. The whole 2 and one half hours we were shooting yesterday we did not take any incoming fire, so it is much safer. Now to be fair I do know the owner and his family and they are a LOCAL family and real nice people. The husband has a full time job outside of the shooting range. His son just finished his BSA Rifle Shooting Merit Badge at the range. So scouters, you now can find a place to shoot. Talk to the people that work at this range about passing off your BSA requirements, if they don't have someone that can pass you off for the BSA shooting requirements they would probable try to find a BSA Merit Badge Counselor. The owner is a gun owner and you can tell by the name of the range that he and his family Love The United States Of America and believes in the US Constitution. I did not get a discount price on my membership to write this review. I purchased a one year membership for me and two of my teenage kids. Just knowing my personality I would always come up with an excuse not to go down shooting if I had to pay every time I went, so I purchased a one year membership and I will do it again next year. This way when we have some time we can jump in the car and go down and shoot. I recommend to go down and buy the one year membership and take your family shooting. It was a real nice shooting day, yesterday. I will be back. Bottom Line, THIS IS A GREAT RANGE. Thank You, Rod McCoy read more

My first review and happy this business, is my first. I have been here many times and have received great service. I was going through their reviews and one review specifically caught my attention as it had incorrect information. I just went again last night to make sure I had my ducks in a row, before passing on misleading information. The ipads on some of the lanes are great for zooming in and seeing your hits and the reviewer was correct in saying they work great, when they do. Several have cracked screens and damage from us shooters obviously. Pricing? Shop around. I have mostly just bought a box or two of ammunition to shoot, but if I thought it was too expensive, I have other options. Gun prices, I have no clue, but again, shop around. Why not get a price and ask the sales person. The range people were diligent sweeping the brass off to the side for obvious safety reasons. I asked what they did with the brass as I wanted keep mine because my husband reloads. They said they sell it off, but they would set mine aside. You just have to ask them. Selling brass to a company seems like a good business practice. Of course you can not be an instructor and use their facilities to train. Are you kidding me reviewer. Liability, liability and liability. Go out to the dessert and do that. You can't be a personal trainer and just bring your clients into any gym and train them. It's the same here. If the reviewer were to just ask, like I did, they would have realized that. I am assuming this particular reviewer is a firearms instructor by their wording. You have to sign a waiver, get your information into the computer and move on. This is not buying a smoothie, so a little more information is needed before allowing you to go use the ranges. I pay with my credit card, so not sure about the carrying around a years worth of membership fees in cash comment. Of the two indoor ranges in town, this one is the best. It's a bit noisy, but I'll take that to get the lead away from me. Overall, ALWAYS a great experience from helpful staff. Some have more experience than other, so hopefully they will use their resources and ask their work mates. read more

I went shooting here recently and all I can say is that it is a spectacular facility that is tainted with inexperienced, rude employees. I asked 3x 2 different employees to help me with a Sig Sauer pistol (over a $1000 firearm) I was interested in purchasing, and low and behold no one ever helped me. I ended up buying it a Sportsman's warehouse for a lot less and the entire transaction took less time then it did for me to wait for someone NOT to help me @ Independence Indoor Shooting. Secondly, there was an older tall guy at the counter named Rob who I thought would have been better to talk to and more respectful, boy was I wrong. I tried to voice my concerns and he talked right over me about some nonsense about women, and then started telling me that his wife is cheating on him with her ex-husband.. he used mild profanity when he spoke. It made me feel very uncomfortable and I don't want to hear about someone's personal affairs when I am going somewhere to enjoy myself. I asked him about renting a Class 3 firearm and told me don't waste my time with that particular weapon because it was a piece of SH!?... Well if you feel that way, why are you carrying it in your store.. Lastly, getting in the range, it's a little much with all the safety protocol going in, because the Range officers never even pay attention or enforce the safety measures they tell you before going in.. I wouldn't mind if they took their own advice. I seen shooters outside the ports with loaded weapons, I was muzzled once, and I felt very unsafe, and then came the full auto weapon while I was trying to precision shoot. I am an avid shooter for over 35yrs, I was in military and shot competition. I was very unimpressed by the mediocrity of the staff and lack of customer service. The place is being ran unsafe, and with very poor customer service.. I WILL NEVER GO BACK, NOR BRING A CHILD TO A PLACE WHERE PROFANITY IS USED AND IS UNSAFE.. A PLACE LIKE THIS WOULD GIVE A NEW SHOOTER A BAD TASTE AND TAKE AWAY FROM THE INDUSTRY. read more

I recently took my autistic son to Independence Indoor Shooting Range in Meridian, Idaho. Visiting a shooting range had been something he'd always wanted to do, but he struggles with loud noises, so we knew it might be a challenge. We gave it a try, but the noise was too overwhelming for him at first. That's when Chance, the Range Safety Manager, stepped in. He noticed our situation and kindly asked another patron if they'd be willing to switch lanes so that we could have a quieter area to ourselves. Thanks to his quick thinking and empathy, the environment became much more manageable for my son. But Chance didn't stop there. He went above and beyond by spending extra time with my son, walking him through gun safety, how to load and operate the firearm, and making sure he felt confident and comfortable--all on his own time, without being asked or paid to do so. My son ended up having the time of his life. When I tried to offer Chance a tip as a thank-you for the incredible support, he kindly declined and suggested we use the money to take my son out for ice cream instead. That gesture alone says everything about the kind of person he is. The exceptional customer service and genuine kindness we experienced at Independence truly turned a difficult moment into an unforgettable one. I can't thank Chance and the team enough for making this such a positive and memorable experience for my son. read more

I had an amazing experience at Independence Indoor Shooting Range! I recently purchased a Sig Sauer P365X Macro and needed it sighted in for 20 yards. Despite having a tight schedule, the staff at Independence went above and beyond to accommodate me. I called ahead to inquire about their gunsmithing services, and when I arrived, they expedited the process, having my pistol ready within an hour. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and efficient. Later that day, I returned with a coworker and enjoyed some quality time on the range, having a blast with my new pistol. The range officer was very helpful, and we even got to observe a tournament next door and check out their impressive 100-yard indoor rifle facility. I appreciated the late hours and flexibility of the staff. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the service and experience. I highly recommend Independence Indoor Shooting Range to anyone looking for top-notch facilities and exceptional customer service. Stop by and see for yourself! read more

My first time in the States visiting family in Idaho from England and went to independence which I gather is a fairly new range and not yet used by the family I was staying with (they usually use another range). Firstly I was very impressed by the size and layout of the shop floor and love the coffee shop inside, perfect if your planning on spending a good chunk of time in the range. As for the range it's a good size and very clean, staff are very friendly and professional. They had a graat range of guns to hire and lots of ammo to chose from with cheaper stuff available if your just wanting to unload in the range (good for a large group which we were). They also have a range of targets to chose from some fun which the girls enjoyed. Overall a great day and (in my opinion) very reasonably priced. I know the American side of the family said they will be using this range from now on and when I next visit I will be back for some 50cal action. read more

I brought 3 twenty something college students with me. Not my first time at a range, but first time at this range, one had never held a firearm before. The intake (first time here remember) was quick and painless, just filled out a form on a tablet computer. All four of us cleared the front desk in 5 minutes. Being our first time, we had to watch a range safety video which I was thankful for considering the newness of this experience for the kids with me. On to the range, the safety officer was very polite and helpful. At one point I saw someone being corrected by him and it was very constructive. I even got help from the range employee getting a jammed cartridge out of one of my firearms. All in all, the four of us had a great time. My novices are much more comfortable around firearms now. We will definitely be back. read more

My son and I waited for a year to use my gift card because my son worked all week and late. It was worth the wait and my son and I had the greatest time shooting the 100-yard range. I had bought a Ruger Precision rifle 308 and I never shot it yet so I wanted to try it on your range. Boy what a setup that they have with moving target placement lighting and bench. The staffs were very nice and made sure that we had a great time with no issues. The first 10 rd never hit the target but after setting the scope 10 rds bulls eyes. Now because of the Independence range I know my weapon is on sight and ready for hunting and target shooting. Thank you so much and we will use your range again soon. I am not sure what the employee's name was but he went out of his way for us. read more

Great instructor and class (Concealed Carry Manipulation) I took the Concealed Carry Manipulation class from Bill and it was fantastic. He was patient and fixed a lot of my accuracy flaws before we got started on holster work. I was incredibly impressed with his demeanor and style...he's very approachable but effectively conveys the seriousness and potential hazards of drawing from IWB. He laces the class with real world anecdotes he's seen during his career about what can go wrong when you aren't diligent. Really makes the lessons stick. Bill gave me the fundamentals I needed to start feeling comfortable carrying and practicing safely from an IWB holster. I was incredibly impressed by the quality of the class, especially considering the price. read more

I received everything that I would expect and more from the services provided. The environment is completely clean and fresh. The personnel are dressed uniformly and offer their experience and expertise only as needed or requested; but they are experts. If you forgot something in your range bag, they have the necessary items available for purchase so you can have a safe and comfortable day shooting. The ranges themselves are kept clean and safe by range safeties. The range lanes are automated so you know exactly at what distance you shoot. There's even what I would call a "sitting area" where you can have a soft drink after your shooting experience. That's not just a range, it is just that, a shooting experience. read more

My daughter and I have been members from the first week it opened. It's a great place. I used to go out south of Boise and go shooting but everything has change so much out there I just feel it isn't safe to go shooting out in the desert anymore. Maybe if I didn't have my young daughter I might still go out there..so speaking of taking a child to this place. It is indoor so it can be very loud. We put in the foam earplugs and then also have modern electronic hearing protection. We can't be more happy with Independence Indoor Shooting. I do pay extra to have the membership and it might be cheaper if you just pay as you go..but I feel I get over there more because I want to get my moneys worth. read more

This is a must if your looking for a gun range. Amazing and friendly staff whose customer service went well beyond any other gun store I've been to. When waiting to buy another box of ammo there was a small line, guy comes over and says he'd ring me up so I didn't have to wait. Turns out it was his day off and was just in enjoying the range, but still stepped up to serve a customer. Spent time talking with Rob and John, both great guys, will be seeing both again in upcoming classes. Again can't say enough nice things about this place. If you visiting make sure to try out the full auto selection....too much fun! read more

Spent some time sighting in my rifle with a new scope. Things were going great until the scope came loose, sending my shots all over the target. Mike who was in charge of the range diagnosed the issue and we found that the original installation had not tightened the rings and bases properly. I had the scope repositioned by the on-site gunsmith and was back in action in no time. Finished the shoot with sub MOA groups and ready for the field. A big thank you to the team. A very clean and well run establishment. I expect to patronize this business again in the near future. read more

This was my first experience with Independence Indoor Shooting. This is a class business! Having been a range instructor, I was quite interested in their safety presentation before allowing me to utilize the range. In addition, Neal took me and my son on a tour of the facility prior to shooting on the range. What impresses me most is the sophisticated air flow system within the range I utilized on my visit. Not one whiff of gun smoke in the air or any other particulates as well. The best indoor range I have ever been to in 40 plus years of law enforcement experience. read more

Safety is always first, wether at the firing line or at the counter, but I was very impressed with three other things. The first, and most important, is attitude. The people here are friendly, as you would expect, but they are also very helpful to those of us without a lot of gun knowledge without being condescending. The other things I like are that they keep the place, including restrooms, very clean and the prices are more than competitive. This is a place I be happy taking my wife or daughter-in-law. I've only been there once, but I will be a steady customer. read more

My daughter and I went in for our first time a few weeks ago and really love this place. Super friendly and helpful staff. It wasn't intimidating as other places can be. Great video on rules and safety measures before you enter the range. Much easier than trying to read everything. Range was excellent with great lighting and easy target placement and retrieval. Lots of inventory to look at and you'll wish you had a million dollars to buy it all :) Really reasonable prices on target ammo and accessories. Next time we'll check out their rifle range with hubby. read more

This is a very nice shooting range. My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary with shooting and dinner. Independence Indoor range is huge and has a 100 yard rifle range! Tons to choose from in the massive pro shop area and all the guns are newer well maintained models. We brought our own but a lot of people were trying different options. And they let you bring your own ammo or purchase there. Would definitely recommend as I've told all my co-workers already. 5 out of 5 stars from us. Thanks, and we will be back. read more

I live a mile away from Independence Shooting. Instead of heading to the desert to shoot I thought I'd try out this indoor range. It was super nice! The staff was friendly and professional. The store looks great (I shot until closing so will need to come back to browse). Price was about what I'd pay for gas to drive to the desert. Great for when I'm by myself but might be too much when my girls tag along. Time will tell. I'm definitely going back and may even consider a monthly membership. read more
