    Pate / charcuterie

Disappointing... Three dishes were too salty, I mean way too salty, even the wine pairing could not temper it or contrast in some way to alter the taste. Overpowering saltiness. So disappointed this place had such a high rating... Best dish were the charcuterie dish and the two dessert black apple and cassis Mille feuile. Honorable mention would be the scallops but only with the wine pairing, without the wine it is a bit too tangy. Entrecôte and fish dish had a sauce that was way too salty. What a disappointment because the meat and fish were cooked perfectly and had good texture only to be ruined by the salt. The tetela, The triangular wrap with mole sauce inside was also too salty also... agnolotti was good. Best simple thing was the fresh burrata. The service was fine. The food was meh... probably not worst meal I've had in a while but most certainly the most disappointing... and the disappointment overshadows everything else that was good... I can't believe someone served me something this salty three times in one night?? My friend who ate with me confirmed he found the dish salty in a jarring way...

Truly amazing service! This was my first time at a fine dining establishment and it was such a treat! All of the staff is kind and accommodating and truly made the dinner feel like an event. The meal was incredibly delicious and outstanding. I look forward to going back.

Amazing evening at Cabaret L'enfer where I indulged in the most delicious tasting menu with fellow foodies. Yes, opt in for the wine pairing and I promise you'll be blown away! Enjoy an 8 course menu spotlighting fresh and local produce, featuring fermented components with a touch of Italian flair. Let's not forget the impeccable service! Although the menu may seem fancy and at a higher price point, the restaurant's ambiance was far from pretentious and stuffy. The chef chatted us up more than once and we were left happy and felt and full at the end of the evening. Certainly my coupdecoeur .

Great food, great vibes. A must for us when in Montreal. Chef Massimo creates a warm welcoming environment that never disappoints.

Every bite here is just a bomb of flavor and comfort. Really really good. Like, spooning up the…read moreremaining sauce on our plates and ripping the head off the fish carcass to dig out more food. Hands down THE best meals we had while in Montreal. (I came several times and often after leaving more expensive less satisfying restaurants) And that's before getting to the stellar wine/drink menu, replete with GOOD non alcoholic options. Wonderful curation of nerdy, interesting and TASTY wines. Special shoutout to our phenomenal dreadlocked server who had a way of explaining the food/menu/drinks and checking in that didn't feel overbearing, too wordy, or awkward... just kind and attentive. Recommended: cod croquette, broccoli and spatzle, whole fried fish, and the miso black food

I was really excited to try Cadet because it was a Michelin recommended restaurant but…read moreunfortunately the food was not as expected. The restaurant had a vibrant vibe and minimalist. The service was friendly but they seemed short staffed that night. We were trying to refill our water glasses but it took a while since I couldn't find any waiter or waitress around. Now let's start with the food: Focaccia: 5/5 bread was warm, toasty and tasty but the dip was the highlight Leeks with smoked mackerel, mustard, tobikko: (2.5/5) too creamy with a hint of mackerel and leeks Calamari chou-fleur, asian pear, chili beurre blanc: (2/5) very soupy and too much cream and not flavorful Black cod miso sauce, daikon, kale: (2.5/5) cod was tender but my bite had too much miso on it. It was extremely salty and not well balanced Beef tartare with mushrooms, Asiago: (1/5) mushy texture and way too much Asiago cheese. Flank steak with burnt chili salsa, szechuan pepper sauce, pickled peppers: (2/5) steak was not tender at all and the sauce was overwhelming Fried sea bass with bok choy, soya, nuoc mam (3/5): presentation was great but too many bones with too little meat. Flavor was good and I enjoyed the warm crispy fish with the Vietnamese style salad Overall, my special dinner was disappointing. I felt like the main ingredient never shined and their cheese or cream or sauce were just too overpowering. I really wanted to like Cadet but it fell short of my expectations.

Scallion pancake topped with snow crab - good but the pancake was too cold and the iceberg lettuce was a bizarre choice
