The bar itself is super nice! We missed the drag show (bummer), but everyone who caught it said it was a blast. Drinks were delicious and the bartenders were friendly. one of them even doubled as the MC and was hilarious. One thing I really appreciated was the self-serve water station. I drink a ton of water, and it's such a hassle trying to get the bartender's attention just for that, so this was a win for both guests and staff. Now... here are my two gripes: A bar that size with only one toilet in the women's restroom? Rough. The line got ridiculous. The music volume was insanely loud. I get it, it's a bar, loud music is expected. But this was next level. You couldn't even have a conversation without yelling, and several people in our group mentioned it, so I know it wasn't just me. Since this place isnt really close to home, I probably wont be back. Wednesdays are line dancing classes and they seem to always add new activities for different days of the week. Overall a good spot for a night out or afternoon fun.

My husband's grandparents live in Clayton and regularly attend the concerts; we can see why. The Grove has lots of shade and is in the middle of downtown Clayton, surrounded by some restaurants and stores. There's a large convenience store nearby, in case you need a few items or drinks to round out your picnic. The grass was well maintained. There's a path around the space, so that you don't have to worry about walking through people, like if a concert is happening. The bathrooms were reasonably clean with baby changing tables. And there wasn't a bad seat for the concert. Still, though, my husband's grandfather did head over to the park early to set up chairs and save our space. That didn't appear to follow the rules on the signs, but he was far from alone in doing this. All in all, this park and its musical programming were great for enjoying a beautiful summer evening.

I have recently seen both the Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra (performing with the San Ramon Valley Chorale) and ZZ Tush -- a ZZ Top tribute band. Both were excellent performances. We ordered the chicken nachos, among others, and we enjoyed it better this time because we were able to "customize" it to our liking because he was able to enumerate to us the ingredients so we were able to exclude those we didn't like. The first time I came I ordered the lobster garlic noodles and they were really tasty, lots of lobster and even had leftovers for lunch. My kids both liked their food- one ordered the pizza kids meal and the other the sliders. There was a few mishaps on the first visit, some of the people in our group waited a while to get their food and we ask for condiments twice before we got them, but hey it was busy and we were a large group. On my second visit I order the fish and chips and they were good, fish was crispy and again, the serving was huge! My kids ordered the same thing on our second visit and they had no complaints. Both times we were seated fast. It is a sports bar and it does get busy and loud so if that's something you don't like, maybe skip it or request to sit outside! I would come here again!
