She had another staff member, A.J. walk me to my car as they were closing up shop. They even prepped a to go provisions kit, just above and beyond thoughtfulness and care. And unlike the SF Mortified event I attended last month where most seats were reserved, this one seemed to offer ample seating first come first served, as well as a lovely outdoor courtyard with even more seating. Sound and lighting were ideal. The guest band, Hot and Dangerous, were hilarious and used lots of unconventional instruments along with catchy and comical lyrics, in between journal readings. They did amazing on stage, even though I missed the house band I saw at the previous show. There were bars on both levels, and just a small line at the downstairs bar before the event started. An hour in, there was no line or waiting at all. I tried one of their cocktail specials, the new parish punch, and absolutely loved it, strong and fruity with just a hint of spice, seems like they make good drinks here. Also, we arrived when the doors opened, an hour before showtime, and there was plenty of parking available just a block away.

Lots of food vendors, stages, etc, but the best thing I like about this Festival is the Oakland vibe. Every time I go, it reminds me of Festival At The Lake or Hip-Hop On The Green. Especially near the main stage when the main artists are doing their thing. This year was no different. Yes, the $15 entrance fee and $5 parking was higher than last year, but it was worth it to me, I don't mind paying if I'm enjoying myself. Keep doing you Oakland!!!

We've had so many of our guests tell us what a great time they had out on the dance floor listening to WGB. They had people of all ages out there whole time! They played a great mix of songs and even learned a new one for our first dance. You could tell that everyone in the band really loves their craft and were happy to be there. They had excellent energy and did a great job emceeing. Anna and the band were responsive and super easy to work with leading up to the event. We booked this band even before we secured the venue - now that says something!
