I asked ChatGPT for the best company suited to my particular problem and Johnson Bros was the…read morerecommendation. My criteria was honest, competent, and fair prices. I feared a complicated drainage diagnosis and possibly a very expensive repair. I had already worked myself into believing this might involve cameras, locating equipment, drainage plans, excavation, and who knows what else. Jeremy took one look at the situation and said, essentially, "Nope." The problem was simple, and so was the solution. He explained that the pop-up drain was doing what it was designed to do, but the excess water had found an easier path underground, which also explained a soft depression nearby (this was causing a lot of soil erosion on my neighbor's property). He then spent a great deal of time walking me through the remedy: where to dig, how deep and wide to make the area, how to use gravel and plants, and how to install deeper edging so the water would disperse properly instead of gushing toward my neighbor's property. I asked a lot of questions. Jeremy answered every one patiently, then went over the plan a second and third time because I wanted to make sure I understood. He physically mapped everything out so I could clearly understand what needed to be done. There was no attempt to sell me camera diagnostics, unnecessary cleaning, excavation, or an expensive drainage system. He charged only the $79 trip fee and nothing more. That kind of honesty is increasingly rare. Jeremy could have turned my anxiety into a padded invoice, but instead gave me a practical, inexpensive solution and made certain I understood it before he left. This is exactly the kind of company people hope they are calling. I felt so relieved that I was prompted to reciprocate his honesty by writing this review.

I regretfully have to update my previous review. I need to be able to trust a company that I'm…read moredoing business with. I asked Patrick's to give me an estimate on installing six smoke detectors because the ones I had purchased were not compatible with what I had previously installed. I assumed that this was a small basic job. They quoted me at $300. When the electrician was here, I questioned the quote three times and all he could say was he didn't make the prices. I politely declined the service and did a little research on my own. It turned out that all I needed was an adapter that easily plugs into the old wiring input; a 12 pack of adaptors is $22 at Lowes. A difference between paying $22 and $300 is extreme. The man at Lowe's isn't even an electrician and he gave me this answer off the top of his head immediately. The electrician from Patrick should've known this information off the cuff. He should've been able to point this out to me but he didnt. Even after asking him about it three times all he did was shrug his shoulders and offer me a quote of $300. This made me question everything about this company. How can I trust a company if they're not willing to give me basic knowledge to avoid a hefty charge for something that it was completely unnecessary? I don't know if this electrician just didn't have that answer (which is unexplainable to me), or if he did have the answer and he failed to give it to me, hoping that I would pay $300 for it. Either way, because of this I won't be renewing with Patrick's service plans or doing business with them any further. This really disappointed me because I thought I had found a reliable and trustworthy company to do business with on a yearly basis including other small tasks like installing my new faucets, smoke detectors, and other things they offer. I'm glad I discovered this prior to paying them for anything. I'm also curious how many other customers out there are getting charged outrageous prices for unnecessary things. Being a successful company goes way beyond sales and numbers. It's about building trust with your customers and having your brand reflect reliability. That means having basic knowledge to offer your customers that will actually save the money instead of cost them. I can't explain this $300 quote. Had they mentioned these adapters I would've been willing to allow them to do such an easy thing that I could've done myself at a way more reasonable price for their time. The truth is, it ended up costing me $22 to install six smoke detectors - which took about 12 minutes of my own time. Anybody doing business with Patrick's needs to be aware of this? They should be asking questions doing their own research and back checking what prices and quotes they're getting and legitimate explanations they are given for that work. I do not recommend this company. I called afterwards and told them about this experience, and they didn't give me any impressive answer or response about it. If you're doing business with Patrick's, get a second opinion. Otherwise you might be paying hundreds of dollars out-of-pocket for things that cost you $22 to do on your own.
