    Children speghetti and meatballs
    Sherry C.

We stopped here for a quick dinner with the kiddos and was pleasantly surprised by the value and quality of the food we got. Our waitress was Kristine and she was nice and quick. We were seated right away and the restaurant is kid friendly with a doodle sheet and kids menu. We were served with bread and soft butter for the table shortly after seating. The kids menu came with a drink and ice cream and prices ranged between $4-8. We ordered Mac n cheese and speghetti and meatballs for the kids. The apple juice that came with the meal was a nice size cup, not those small kids cups. The dishes were also big enough to have leftovers. The Mac n cheese is ziti with a white cream sauce, not the Craft box Mac n cheese. My kid liked it. As for the speghetti and meatballs, the meatballs were the big size meatballs, so it was plenty for my daughter. For entrees, we ordered White clam sauce with fettuccine and calamari with spicy marinara sauce. They came with soup or salad. The food was decent, but nothing to rave about... 3 stars for the food, but overall experience and value earned this place another star. Nice place for a family meal (with plenty of leftovers) that won't break your bank!

    Big ziti

My husband and I stopped at CJ's. To have some dinner, I ordered the baked ziti. And he had lasagna, we also had onion soup, the soup was very weak, and the ziti for me was that it was over cooked. The sauce was great the next time I go there I think I'll just get a Pizza.

This was 'Thick and Chewy' crust?

Poorly run restaurant. My wife and I have been regular customers for over 8 years and are known by many of the servers. We go on quite times, usually on Thursday when they are open until 9pm, and there are 3 or 4 tables in use in the nice open room. Twice in a row, the servers tried to put us into the claustrophobic area near the kitchen next to a table of loud people with lights in our faces. After asking to sit in the big room (10ft away), we were treated as unwelcomed. My wife refuses to go back. Here's an idea!!! If restricting the service area on a slow night... put little teepee signs on the left 'this area closed' while having a row of tables along the windows on the right available???Recently I got a takeout 'thick and chewy crust' pizza with extra cheese as I've been getting for years, it was nether. Just a plain cheese pizza for $22. Never again... now checking out other area restaurants.

We love CJs - the baked ziti is great! The service is top notch - Sam & Alex were lovely.

It is VERY small inside, I was expecting a bit more room. If you sit outside, it is backed up to a junkyard/car repair place which is not very quiet or pleasant. We ordered the veggie burger with fries, and a beef burger with fries. They will not allow you to sub a salad for the fries. I saw rave reviews about the house made veggie burger, but personally, I was not impressed, and thought it was bland. The burgers were big, and difficult to eat, so we had to cut them up. The fries are also large & house made, and were good. I ordered a tossed salad with chicken to go for my husband. Chicken was good, salad was basic (tomato, avocados and onions). To put this in perspective, the food was on the expensive side, so we expected more. The bakery items are delicious. All together, for the 3 meals, 3 drinks and 2 bakery items, it came to $110 (plus tip). This may be reasonable for some, I guess it depends on location. Rhinebeck does tend to be expensive. They seemed to be somewhat busy with to-go orders. I guess it's one of those places you just have to check out, and decide for yourself! It's not a place I plan to return to.

If you don't look and turn too quick, you can easily pass by without noticing. It has a small parking area out front, and it's clearly a local gem. This is not the place you go to for a high end meal. You won't find fancy dishes being served. Instead, you walk into this quaint storefront and a friendly cashier standing in front of the push pin menu board. This is where you go on a lazy morning when you want that home cooked meal feel without needing to do any of the work at home. Think potato buns cushioning a warm homemade sausage cut, a griddled egg, that melty sliced cheddar, and add on a perfectly crispy hash brown. It was like my favorite relative made it for me as I sat in my pajamas. Truly a trip worth stopping in for, and as an added boost, walk around their little shop while you wait. You won't regret it.

So the watermelon lemonade they have is unsweetened but have liquid sugar to make up for it, which is nice since you can sightly sweet rather than other places where lemonades taste straight up like syrup. I got the bobo and let me say it's pretty much one-one with breakfast sandwiches you get a NYC bodega made with love. Eggs were runny, bacon was crispy and not charred ash, just the right amount of cheese as well and a crispy hashbrown patty like mc' Donald's. Plus got to love the hot sauce rack they have to customize your food, hot honey worked well. Also I notice someone there loves the label gun, since man everything was spelled out on the counters.
