I scored the v-neck pullover that feels like butter. Seriously, it's really soft and works well for those evenings at the beach, where a hoodie is too much. Even their customer service is good - I had a question about care and they responded on a weekend (and it was a real person). I just ordered some shorts and a t-shirt and will now make Fundamental Coast part of my fashion rotation (ha!). Good, quality, local, small business with good customer service. I love that. It was appalling and despicable the way I was treated at this business. I saw a post on Instagram…read morefor an event, a Father's Day Soiree, at Manhattan Denim, which was on their account. I was already in the South Bay and it looked like a fun event to attend. When I went to get a cracker to eat, one of the staff members asked me what I was doing. This was past 3:30pm and on the Instagram post, the event started at 3:00pm. She also said that it was a private event and asked if I had an invitation. I told her I was here for the event and I saw it on Instagram. It does not say anywhere that it was a private event or it was by invitation only. Also, there was no check-in or guest list at the event. Another staff member asked me to leave because he said I was looking at websites on my phone and comparison shopping. He falsely accused me of doing something I was not, but even if I was, I don't understand why that would be an issue. Also, after a bartender had already served me a cocktail, the staff asked me to show my passport because they said I didn't look old enough to drink. Why would I need to carry my passport to attend events or go shopping? By the way, I am over 50 years old. In addition, another staff commented they were concerned that I was event hopping. I asked why that would be an issue and she simply said it sounded like I was just going to events. This staff member didn't know what events I was attending and what I had purchased at the other events and it shouldn't matter as well. I am still shocked at what happened on Saturday. This business needs to take a course on how to provide customer service and they need to learn how to treat people.
