I met my wife in a pub in Seal Beach. You can't stroll Main St with ducking into the SB Shoppe and checking out the inventory. Over the years, my wife, kids and myself bought tee shirts (lots of them), tank tops, sweatshirts, ball caps and stickers. We retired in 2019 and over the next few years we travel through 35 states and my tee shirt of choice came from the SB Shoppe. I wore them nearly thread bare as they had kool designs, were well made and reminded us of where we met. Well, we now reside in East TX and I've been embarrassing my wife because of constantly wearing my favorite SB tees. With our upcoming 21st wedding anniversary, my wife ordered four new SB tees. We just came home from our Anniversary dinner and there sitting near the front door was a box from the SB Shoppe, inside was four new tees for me and two new tank tops for my wife. Yea!!!! These shirts always catch attention in stores and restaurants and we enjoy telling people about our visits to Seal Beach. I cannot recommend the products and customer service from the SB Shoppe more. They sell quality products at reasonable prices and their tees and tank tops have very clever and unique designs. So if you are lucky enough to visit the best costal town in SoCal, stop in to the SB Shoppe and tell them Valerie and Preston sent you. You'll be treated like family. When we travel, finding quality souvenir items is often difficult or impossible. Those of us who vacation at the beach have all seen those cheap shirts with rubberish designs that disintegrate or crack after the first or second wash. Well, the SB Shoppe offers high-quality t-shirts and hats with Seal Beach discreetly plastered and worked into the designs. The two ladies running the shop were friendly and chatty, which was a nice change from other stores. There were zero issues or criticisms on our behalf. We moved to Indiana, in 2015 to care for parents, and every time we visit home (Orange County) we ALWAYS spend at least one day in Seal Beach, and ALWAYS get a couple of wonderful shirts (Hawaiian for Carl/usually long sleeved ladies items for me ... it's COLD in Indiana, in the Winter.) Had a wonderful dinner as my girlfriend and I visited from out of the area, and stopped in as we were walking main street. We love to window shop at shops such as these and spend money to support the local businesses even if the clothing prices are a little high on the items we looked at. While walking around one clothing item got caught and accidently fell off the rack. The woman that suddenly appeared gave the impression I had just shattered glass, but no worries. I attempted to apologize and smile, this woman couldn't even try and smile. We felt suddenly rushed to leave. No pleasantries, no customer service, no offer to help find anything. We did not experience any negativity from people working here as other reviewers have reported. The people working here were nice and helpful. I thought the prices were a little high, but considering it is a small business within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean, the prices were worth a Seal Beach souvenir tee. This is a nice small shop with Hawaiian Beach shirts. I saw a sale rack outside with high quality shirts at a good price. I found a shirt that I liked and walked into the store. Inside I found racks full of great looking shirts and a nice lady who answered my questions. I bought a Hawaiian shirt and a t-shirt. I will stop here again when I am back in town. read more

Well, I expected a nice welcoming, friendly attitude coming into this store....but NO! There was one lady with blondish hair and a 19 forgotten hairstyle that had a SALTY ass look and attitude from the moment I walked in! The other worker lady was ok, she asked if I need help, but the SALTY one.....she was just horrible! I think she made a face after helping me because the other lady commented " what's wrong with you, you look upset or something". Worst customer service I have ever seen. My husband took my step son in to buy him a shirt and the two women working both snickered when he was looking around and were staring at him due to his large size- he is 14!!!!! No child should have to feel the way he felt when we left, empty handed of course. He was so embarrassed and even asked the ladies what they were looking at and the. Replied what are you looking at and laughed in his face. When I heard what happed I went back to the store to confront them, they knew immediately who I was talking about- if they were innocent they would have no idea if the incident- right? The women running this store were ill-mannered and unwelcoming from the moment I entered the store. I have never been to a store and felt such rudeness. There's one lady that sits in the corner right by the door, but she doesn't greet you as you walk in. She just makes impolite comments out loud as you're browsing, but not necessarily to you which is even ruder. I killed it with kindness, but definitely do not recommend this store to anyone. This is a store we stop in every time we are in the area. We haven't found a store with a better selection of the button down men's tourist shirts. At $65 a shirt they are a bit pricey but we can always find something different here. We have also purchased souvenirs for family members here as they have these shirts in childrens sizes. Obviously they have items specific to Seal Beach which we pick up also. Usually the workers are friendly and chatty. We went in on Jul 3 and were rung up by a younger dark-haired girl. She wouldn't smile or engage in any type of conversation. Not customer service oriented. Thankfully this is not the reception we normally receive. We will be back next time we're in town but we won't shop if that cashier is there. read more

I came here today with a friend of mine after a lovely day spent at the beach. She wanted to purchase a couple of souvenirs. The two ladies at the register were very unpleasant, rude and overall condescending. My friend asked if there was a student discount, and the lady at the register rudely replied "To what? SBBC College?" implying that my friend attended a vocational school, (ironically she's in a masters program at UCSD). Her failed attempt at a joke did not make us laugh. It is safe to assume that we will NOT be returning to this store. read more

When SB Shoppe sets the tables outside full of t-shirts you know the day has started on Main Street . Colorful cool shirts and some not so cool but funny. (like old guys rule ) Loaded with sayings you have seen before and some that just refer to the locals. All sizes all shapes , all fun to look at. Inside they have a lot of Ryan Spooner shirts which never wear out-:)! They also have cute sweats and fitted hoodies and tanks. Not just tanks for guys, but some cute ones. Tourists from close by and a long ways off should stop in for sure, I like the body lotions from Hawaii and perfumes. The prices are reasonable. This is not a junky store like some beach t-shirt places I have been in, but a really great place. They have hats, sun lotions and shorts too. The smiles that came from the employees was only outshined by the high quality fabrics and beautiful patterns. I came here looking for a centennial SB sweatshirt. No one greeted me or asked if I needed assistance. I browsed for a minute, then finished the latte I had been sipping, and asked the woman who was eating behind the counter (talking with 2 other women) if I could throw my empty 12 oz paper coffee cup away so I could free my hands and really shop. To my surprise, she said "no" and that there was a trash can outside. I went outside, spotted the nearest trash can a couple of storefronts down, and tossed the cup. I did NOT return to spend money in the store after being treated so rudely. I'm a Seal Beach native and I'm ashamed and embarrassed to think that a shop is treating people (locals or visitors) so inhospitably. We need to keep Main St charming and welcoming and this shop is a disgrace to SB. read more
