They're so honest about exactly what you need done, what you can skip that a dealer will try to sell you, and do it all at a reasonable price. Most recently, I brought in my daughter's Jeep Wrangler for an inspection before her Spring Break road trip. Besides noting it was due for brake and filter changes, Angel also noticed an oil leak. Rather than trying to gouge me for a diagnosis, he told me to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose it. Sure enough, it was a damaged oil pan that had to be replaced- under my warranty. Many shops would try to quote you a price and do it, but I appreciate it when these guys tell me to take the cars to the dealers when there's a big problem. Just the best place- I wish more businesses were like this. The world would be a better place: 5 stars, absolutely the best in the business.

Expect the staff to ask you about oil preferences (brand vs generic) and show you your oil levels upon completion. I had been putting off my oil change due to time constraints and felt bad showing up at 5 pm, an hour before closing. I asked if they can still take me and I appreciate the fact that they said the last car accepted is 10 mins to close. I'd never do that, but it's nice to know that they'd still take you (for an oil change I'm assuming). Overall, good experience!

I tried to take the car back there, but Mike argued that he didn't have time to fix it and "wouldn't put our car in front of his other 17 customers". I contacted corporate office in Nashville regarding the terrible customer service, as well as the padding and overselling of services from this store location. In the past 3 months, Mokena Firestone has attempted to upcharge and overselling me twice. Whereas the Tinley Park Firestone was honest and upstanding. I spent over 2,000.00 on multiple vehicles with honest Tinley Park location. Whereas Mokena wrote a quote for 5,000.00 on just 1 vehicle. Do not visit the Mokena Firestone location. Had taken it to another mechanic for a transmission service and fluid change, and they notified me of an oil leak coming from the filter housing assembly which was discovered to be cracked. I was told this is a common issue due to overtightening of the filter cap, which can crack the unit. Called Valvoline to inform them of this and start a claim to see about having it replaced. In conversations with the store, they had asked if they could check the vehicle out themselves which wasn't an issue, and then also mentioned they had a shop near them that they use to address these issues - which tells me this is a common issue there. Manager called to inform me of their determination to deny the claim, stating they reviewed all the paperwork including the torque specs that were apparently documented during the oil change, and they did nothing wrong. When I asked for those specifications to be sent to me to verify, I was told it was confidential information and they cannot share it. Paid about $115.00 total on the oil change there, and because of their negligence, will probably be looking at another $500-$600 to get this repaired out of pocket. Buyer beware - your experience and mileage may vary with this place - but know if they make a mistake, it'll be your fault and they won't own up to it.
