    Charge for looking it over.

While everyone was polite and service was quick and through I did not like that they gave me one quote over the phone and charged me something different when I picked it up. I called and explained what I needed and talked to a lady, she told me to hold while she talked to the mechanic then came back to the phone and told me to have it looked at would cost $50 and that I could bring it by the next day. I brought it the next day, and dropped it off. The following day they called and told me all the issues, based off that info I decided not to do any fixes because it wasn't worth it. He told me over the phone that it was $150. I went to go pick it up and on arrival a lady was at the front desk and I told her I was here to pick up the car and asked why the difference in price that I was quoted on phone, she said hold on and got the mechanics. He came out and said I didn't talk to a lady the other day I only talked to him, and that no one gave me that price. I told him well she did and I didn't just pick a random price to say and that, that is why I brought it here, the lady did not come in and verify or return to the front, which I assume is because she didn't want to lie to my face. The older mechanic then said that she was his wife and she doesn't set appointments not give quotes. I did not appreciate paying 3 times what I was quoted and then told I was never quoted that or that I even had the conversation I know I had. That is the reason I'm giving a bad review, this is the type of Bad experience I try to avoid when looking for new auto shops. Honesty is the best customer service. Maybe she shouldn't have quoted but SHE DID, and obviously was wrong and she as the employee and wife should eat that cost not me the new customer. They could have offered a variety of options to of set her mistake and they didn't they charge me $160. He told me it's $160 per hour and that's how long he spent "looking" at my car. Very disappointed in the interaction. We both stayed polite but I feel scammed.

Just shop around for a mechanic who has the very best and latest equipment before you pay these guys a diagnostic fee.

Got work done here, and it was done great. Great prices, they beat out all other shops I got quotes at.

They got BOTH cars in fast, called us back promptly with the diagnosis, and gave us a reasonable rate.

Finding an honest mechanic you can trust can be a daunting task. My girlfriend I moved down to the…read morearea recently and obviously had to find a new one. My girlfriend's car had some issues, the main being the catalytic converter went bad, and the ball joints were loose also. She originally brought the car to another local joint and they quoted us $2500 just for the converter. After doing some research on neighborhood Facebook pages and making some calls, I fell on bringing the car to Book Racing. I tried calling another recommended local joint for a quote, and I never received a response. Roberto was incredibly attentive and quick. He walked me through various options on the converter such as different prices for the front or rear, and the difference between factory or aftermarket parts. He called me back a couple times to seal the deal. At the end of it we were quoted about $1800 for the converter and ball joints. A gigantic saving that made the repair easier to chew. We even received the car quicker than expected! The repair is also under a 3 year warranty. We'll be going here for any future issues!

Just left here. Was a customer for about 4-5 years. Brought my own cabin air filter. Asked if they…read morecould install it, since I know that the engine air filter and cabin air filters are removed and inspected during service. Since it's already removed, all they have to do is place it in the slot. When I went to pay, was informed that I was charged $37.50 to replace the cabin air filter. When I asked the owner about it, he said, 'I don't do anything for free.' I said ok, then just remove it. He said, 'I don't do any dumpster diving.' I said, 'Dont take the old one out, just remove the one I bought.' He yells, 'I can't believe I'm doing this!' I just said fine, forget it. I'll pay and you've lost a customer for life. Over a $37 charge which required no extra work.

They advised me that to get into the trans and change that, they should replace the whole transmission for a couple hundred more, otherwise they couldn't guarantee the work. And they charged $150 for this "diagnosis". They wanted thousands of dollars for a new transmission, and I was stuck because I couldn't take the emissions test to renew my plates with a check engine light on. Brought it to Tony's Transmissions, and he replaced the sensor in a few days for a few hundred dollars. I can't remember the exact amount because I paid cash and it was about a year ago, but I just saw his business pop up when I was doing a search and remembered that I should have left him a review back then. He really did great work. Check engine light was off, car passed emissions, and we drove it for another year before selling it a friend for his teenage son. Car is still running strong.

Tony said they were backed up and I offered to drop it off early just in case Tony and team got some extra time, as the family had an urgent college move-in date to make :-) Tony and team got the sensor part in and quickly turned it around, including some Q/A to make sure it was stable. Pricing with parts and labor was very reasonable.
