He explained how he couldn't really fix the scratches because the thin coating on my paint was too thin. I understood because I personally haven't taken the time to take care of my car all these years. He was able to apply wax though. The car looked so shiny and clean. The interior really felt close to being brand new! We didn't have plans to go out that day but we couldn't resist the urge to go out in our "brand new" car and drove to Old City. When he showed up for the appointment, he was trying to talk me into the up charge before he even looked at the interior of my car. He backed off when I told him I only want the basic $179 detail and said he would do the 90 minute $179 interior detail. About 45 minutes into detailing my car, he texted me that he was going to charge me for $215 to clean and $65 additional charge for a total of $295 for stain issues and excessive debris. I don't know where he pulled those numbers out of (which is more than what an exterior and interior detailing is on his site and I wasn't even having my exterior or trunk cleaned) and the numbers don't even total to $295. When I saw his text message, I told him to stop cleaning and that I didn't agree to that and I only wanted the $179 basic cleaning. He said he didn't know how to do that. He then finally said he would only charge me $179, but then sent me a link to pay $215 (including my $50 deposit). I paid and he refunded me $36 about 15 minutes later of his own volition. He is a total scam artist. He is not using professional/commercial grade tools. He is not a professional whatsoever. He lost his phone in my car. He came an hour late to the appointment. You can do a better job using the free vacuum and spray at a car wash.

With the car, it's like he turned back time to when it was brand new, and the house looks like it has just been painted instead of just cleaned. All you have to do is be home and let him know if you can provide access to power and water. We will definitely have him back regularly.

Humble, funny, straightforward, dedicated to his craft, experienced, and a man I came to admire after listening to his life story. Now lets get down to business. What he did for my car. I have been planning on getting my 2010 Acura TSX detailed for over 5 years. To say it looked in desperate need of a detail is an understatement: the inside cabin was disgusting from my helping a friend with food deliveries. Spills in the carpet. Black marks on the plastic molding near the seats. Leather in need of conditioning. The clear coat had scratches everywhere. The car had not been waxed correctly since it was new. A recent problem with the alignment made me consider selling the car or trading it in. I stopped in to see Ed and explained my situation. Despite the fact that he had a two week backlog, despite the fact that he usally is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, he told me he would help me out and detail the car on the Saturday during the Memorial Day weekend. Are you kidding me? What business does that today? The car took way more time than he anticipated- it was that bad. He had to run the ionizer to make it smell fresh. It took over three hours just to do the inside! The outside took another three plus hours. To tell you the transformation was amazing does no justice to the job he did. Ed is a rock star of auto appearence! If this was an ad for weight loss the before photo would feature a very very large, out of shape human to a lean, mean, workout machine you cant believe is the same person. The pictures I am posting to accompany this review will give you an idea of the level of professionalism and excellence in what Ed achieved. His attention to detail was spectacular. So meticulous. The hand wax job was put to the test immediately the day he returned the car as it rained all day yet everything beaded up like a brand new automobile. The good news is, despite dings on both driver and passenger sides, the chip in the windshield, the cracked housing of the driver's rear view mirror, the spot where somone sideswiped my car, I recieved the best offer on trade I could have hoped for. I assure you this - if Ed had NOT done such an amazing job, I would have had to accept a much lower trade-in value. My good friend in the body and fender business was shocked that I recieved such a great offer and attributed it primarily to the job Ed did. In fact, when my co-worker saw the car, he asked for Ed's card so he could get HIS two cars detailed. I am now a raving fan of Allen's Auto Appearence. If he could make my car look like it looks NOW from how it looked the day I drove it in, he could work miracles on your car,truck or boat. I vote - Five stars - as good as it gets!

While I was waiting for the work to finish, I was standing outside and it looked like it was about to start raining. Dave was kind enough to let me wait inside the waiting area since I was alone, even though their sign said it was closed due to COVID. I also had the pleasure of talking with Dave about his cars that were parked outside. My car was finished in about an hour. When I was driving back, I discovered my speakers were not playing music correctly, so I went back to the shop. To my surprise, Dave was kind enough to explain to me that he usually turns off all the electronics before they start working on the car. That was a huge sigh of relief for me, and I am very grateful for how helpful Dave was with the customer service. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of the work, the timeliness, and the professionalism of the staff at Elite Glass Tinting.
