The water was great and there was a great breeze. We stopped at the marina store to get ice and then took a ride over to the other side of the lake to the Cafe. The food was great and decent priced. The staff was a bit over whelmed. The cashier at the back register seemed irritated with the kids looking at stuff near the counter and shut her register down. The crowd waiting for their food before us didnt get the right order, they had to remake their food and they told the girls prepping the food that the girl that took their order wasnt paying attention and wrote the order down wrong. And it was beautiful so who really won? I don't recall which trail we did, but the views were nice. There's not much shade along the trail we took so I'd say wear a hat if you can and stay hydrated. Once in a while, we saw a random cow walking along which was cool. This place is popular - we saw a lot of families and bicyclists when we were here.

What a beautiful way to begin the Lunar New Year…read more Yesterday, we hiked 4.2 miles at Del Valle Regional Park, and it felt like the perfect start to my new year goals. The trail was absolutely beautiful, even with a light drizzle along the way. Rain or shine, we still show up and that's something I'm really proud of. I'm so happy to say that my stamina is getting stronger with every hike. Each time we head out, I can feel the progress. The hills feel a little less intimidating, the miles go by a little easier, and my confidence grows a little more. When we reached the top and looked out over Lake Del Valle, the view was breathtaking, calm, peaceful, and completely worth the climb. Moments like that remind me why I keep pushing forward. Growth doesn't happen overnight, but step by step, mile by mile, I'm getting better. And thank you, Hubby, for always motivating me and believing in me. Having someone by my side who encourages me to keep going makes all the difference. Here's to starting the Lunar New Year strong and continuing to chase every goal ahead of us.

Place a little old but has what you would need to fish. The fishing area was hard to find a spot if you're not early. Make sure you register and pay fee to enter fishing area. There were so many insects flying so make sure you have bug spray or a net. We couldn't stay. It was too much. You drive through a small community of people who camp/rent there. Looks like they are cleaning up and maybe rebuilding the area. Quiet.

Mark was kind enough to supply all the gear (rods, waders, boots), the only thing i brought was my fishing license. Mark was very friendly and is an excellent guide. one on one casting lessons was also part of the experience. All in all, me and my Dad had an awesome time, were taught basic casting, and caught 8 good sized trout total. I cant wait to schedule another guided trip. Good value for money! Many hiking trails, rental boats and calm clean water with many birds all over the place. You pay to park and for fishing but that helps for maintenance and for the planting of fish which they do a few times a year. They have a small store which sell bait and the day i came to check it out they had a picture of a 6 year old girl that had caught a 5 pound trout. In addition, the night attendant Perry was also very helpful and took us to our spot and pointed out where things were. That is all the good I can give the campground. Let's start with the "no's" . No wi-fi, no cable, no restrooms. If I am paying for a site, all three of those are mandatory. The campground itself is set next to the Merced River so there is good scenery, but the campground itself is old and worn out. I would say that' 80% plus are all permanent residents, some of their equipment in very poor condition. The roads are all gravel and my site was very un-level. I think there is good potential here, but there needs to be a lot of investment made to get this park back to a destination people will want to visit.
