Contacted them, talked to new owner, Mike, came out to give a quote the next day. Made arrangements for the team to come out on Saturday, got here promptly on time. We went over the work needed (trees in front, one in back, some neighbor branches over the roof, etc.). The team thinned out all the dead bracken, gave the canopy room to expand. They painted the cuts on all the trees, ours and the neighbors', then got to the cleanup. Did a super job chipping all the branches and bracken (a VERY full truck full of chips & logs), sweeping up after themselves. Great team, great job! We can see the front of the house again! Looks great. Thanks to Mike & crew at Trees R Us!

I called them again and they said I should have called first so I didn't waste gas I should have called to make sure employees were here during business hours? What makes this even more frustrating is I had called several days earlier letting them know I'd be coming by today (I had the day off) Get your act together D&B

We hired this crew to redo a neglected area around a large, mature live oak in our backyard -- it…read morewas just bare dirt and old, deteriorating plastic edging when we started. They pulled out the old edging and replaced it with metal edging, brought in fresh dirt and pea gravel, and installed an irrigation line to keep things watered going forward. We also had them plant two jasmine we had in pots, and they patched in new grass around the edges where the old digging had left bare patches. The end result looks great -- clean lines, good drainage, and the area around the tree finally looks intentional instead of neglected. The jasmine and grass patches have taken root well. Jaylin, the foreperson, was easy to work with and responsive to our input throughout the job. It was a small project but he treated it with care, especially working around the tree's root system.

Well, I guess my update in September of 2023 was not my last for this nightmare of an experience…read morewith Hill Country Outdoor Builders. In late January of 2025 I noticed some uneven shingle lines on the opposite side of the patio roof that Tobi and his team completed. From my previous post, Tobi assured us that the opposite side of the patio roofing was done correctly which is why he refused to redo the entire shingle work and just correct the area that was falling off (as seen in the pictures). I asked a 20+ year roofing professional to assess what I noticed and he confirmed that both sides were done incorrectly. There were areas with 3 nails per shingle or less and even some shingles with no nails at all. We chose to have the entire side (opposite side from which Tobi already corrected) re-roofed; including paper underlayment. Luckily there were no signs of water damage. This correction was north of $1,000 out of our pocket. My wife and I want everyone to know that we would not recommend Hill Country Outdoor Builders for any work moving forward. We are also starting to notice some loose paver stones on the end caps of our patio floor. Do your research with this company and ask a lot of questions before moving forward.
