Absolutely avoid at all costs! Hired him to replace the liner on an above ground pool and replace…read moretrim. The liner was installed crooked, the trim was thrown away, and he disappeared. I tried to call him several times to question when they would come and finish the job and waa ghosted. He overcharged, left a mess of a situation, and disappeared. Now I'm out all that money and still don't have a usable pool.

I do not like anything about ECC. Ed Coote Jr. came out to my property on 06/03/2024. I told him…read morethat I had a party scheduled for 06/18/2024 and he assured me that the pool would be done by then. He drew up a contract/invoice that day and I paid half of the total immediately on 06/03 ($2124.13) with the final payment of $2124.13 due upon completion. The only work he did between 06/03 and 07/04/2024 was to call 811 for utility marking. I, however, had to call 811 myself to clarify the delay and got them out to the property the following day. Throughout this time, communication from Edward was sparse, to say the least. Although I sent numerous texts and made numerous phone calls, the only time I got any communication from him was when I would send a text stating that I was looking to get another contractor. On 06/18/2024, his response to me was rude, threatening, and unprofessional, stating that I did not have the right to go to someone else because we had a contract, even though he was already in breach due to not even starting the job a week after his projected completion date. I have since scheduled a new contractor who is much more professional, and my pool will be complete and filled by 07/09/2024. When I sent the final text to Edward on the morning of 07/04/2024, he responded that my deposit was non-refundable (I will be getting it back anyway, with or without his cooperation.) He stated that he had done work by meeting with me and calling 811, so I am in the wrong. Completely ridiculous. It is obvious to me that Mr. Coote does not understand contract law. To anyone reading this, I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere if you actually want your job done. I am sad that I need to post this, but I feel that I have a responsibility to keep others from making the same mistake I did. He talks a great game, but words are just words. Don't believe it.

This is one of the only businesses that I felt was not trying to scam us out of more money. If I had a question about anything, they would respond immediately. The work itself was done professionally and efficiently. We had a lot of side projects that needed to be done in one big project, which included drywall repair, entire floor replacement, the entire kitchen had to be redone, and other things. I highly recommend. It's nice to have businesses around that care about their clients and their work. Attached a before and after photo of the kitchen.

The contractor caused damage to property, furniture and the HVAC system (which was less than five years old at the time). The workers operated a saw indoors in January while the HVAC system was running and left the doors open which caused the HVAC to constantly be running. This caused damage which led to the HVAC system having to be replaced. There were also numerous deficiencies in the construction work, including Improper installation of siding, including damage of the sheathing The flooring was damaged and has visible gaps and scratches The walls were not properly prepped before painting The windows were not installed in the proper locations Interior doors and closet doors do not close properly Additional damage to furniture and property It was agreed the work would not continue. H&Y Contracting sent an invoice for the work which they overcharged in order to keep most of the deposit.
