We finally made it and to say it was worth the trip is an understatement. It's not just that there's so many pristine vintage and modern vehicles to appreciate, but every single person that we encountered who was working there was kind and welcoming. Yes, there's no admission. And most important above all else, yes you can bring your dog(s) here. It's so difficult to find places that are truly dog friendly (allow dogs indoors). Which is understandable, so when we find a place that does, we take full advantage to patronize. The front desk attendants even made our pup feel welcome. He walked around but also took turns with the human little one in the stroller. We didn't end up staying too long but everyone had a good time. My husband, the car fanatic and connoisseur, said that the monthly fee to store a car was really good. And he had plenty of cars and cycles to admire. But even as someone who isn't a car person, myself, it's a great outing for the entire family. Thank you to Ron and his entire team for creating and opening up such a family, and canine, friendly treasure for this whole DFW metroplex!

We got dropped off in the parking lot by our Lyft about 30 minutes before the gates opened and had a short walk to where a pretty substantial line had already formed. Staff came by to do ID checks and distribute wrist bands for alcohol, and the entry was smooth and efficient. We headed to the beer tents and spent the next couple of hours doing tastings before the music started. I was glad the day was kind of cool and overcast, as there wasn't a ton of shade or seating in the beer tents area. There was a lone park bench that we were lucky enough to grab for a while. Once the music started we moved over to the stage area, which had an expansive lawn, and locals in the know were prepared with blankets. Alas, we weren't as prepared, but thankfully the grass was not bad to lounge on sans blankets. There were plenty of food vendors and portapotties, as well as picnic tables, and the sound was pretty good. After the show we thought it'd be too chaotic to try calling a car right at the venue, so we walked out about half mile to a Taco Bell to call a car (and get a snack), and it looked like a lot of other people had the same idea. It worked out well, though, and we give our Panther Island experience a thumbs up, despite the fact that it wasn't an island and there were no panthers.

Our artist was Annabell and she guided everyone through the process of painting the picture that was selected and did a great job. Robert kept us supplied with paints and fresh water for cleaning our brushes. They have everything covered that is necessary for everyone to have a good time, even asked our music preferences! Unfortunately, my experience with the event coordination was very disappointing. While the venue was perfect, I never felt like my wedding day was being treated as a priority in the slightest. I am very easy going but to be told tours will stop at a certain time and then to continue until 5pm was heartbreaking. Throughout my wedding day, tours of the property continued, and members of the general public were allowed in areas that should have been reserved for the wedding. A dog from the public side of the gardens even stopped and pooped near the ceremony space leaving us to clean it up. I also have photos from my first look with my dad that include random visitors in the background, which was heartbreaking for such a special moment, or a couple standing down the isle while our violinist practiced and the couple practiced a first dance less than 30 minutes before welcomed guest. It felt as though accommodating tours and other events was more important than protecting the wedding experience for the bride, groom, and guests. Several of my vendors also shared negative interactions with Nancy when they arrived slightly early. While waiting for their scheduled entry time, they were reportedly told that because they were early, "her ass is now on the line," which created an unwelcoming atmosphere from the start. Clark Gardens is one of the most beautiful wedding venues imaginable, but I wish someone had prepared me for how little attention would be given to making us feel special on our wedding day. If you choose this venue, I recommend asking detailed questions about public access, tours, and how wedding events are separated from regular visitors so you know exactly what to expect. I'm sure the response to this review will be to point out that the contract states tours may continue during wedding days, and that is true. However, bride to bride, I want future couples to be prepared for what that can actually look like in practice. Reading a contract clause and experiencing members of the public in the background of your wedding photos, during your first look, and around your ceremony space are two very different things. My goal in sharing this is not to dispute the contract, but to help future brides ask questions, set expectations, and make an informed decision about whether that arrangement fits the wedding experience they envision.

Paintings, Sculptures, Plants etc. We recognized Jackson Pollocks work but there were just a few pieces. I like how large the building is and how beautiful the windows are. I also love how it's surrounded by an oversized pond. I would definitely recommend the Modem Art Museum. It's free on Fridays but a donation is encouraged.
