The restaurant really knows what they're doing, from the way they introduce each dish, to the flavor combinations, to the service and atmosphere. We got a lot of the fan favorites to try, and our favorites were the tomato and bread, the octopus with potato puree, and the lamb skewers. I do agree with the sentiment that the portions are small for the price. For the lamb skewers, each skewer was $16 and it just came with some cucumbers. Don't get me wrong, the lamb was expertly spiced and tender, but I thought the price tag was steep for the portion size. If you get the half portion for the tapas, it's just one skewer. The tomato and bread was incredibly fresh, perfectly salted, and you could tell the quality of the olive oil used. For the octopus dish, that was some of the most tender octopus I've ever had. It just melted in your mouth. The shrimp dish was incredibly tender but we thought the flavor was a bit lacking for the sauce. They gave us bread to soak up the sauce, but the bread itself was a bit hard and didn't seem like a fresh baguette. Croquettes were savory, had a nice crust, and super soft inside. The quality of the ham gave the croquette a complex smokey flavor. For the fried potatoes, the half portion would be enough for 2 people to share. The full portion was too large. For drinks, I got the seasonal soda which was apple and ginger, which tasted lovely and not too sweet. Service was friendly and attentive. There's plenty of free street parking around the area after 6 pm, otherwise it's paid hourly. Bathrooms were spacious and clean. Overall $150 for 6 tapas dishes and 2 drinks. We did leave full and overall impressed with the meal.

Wonderful food! We had a few surprises going to Cúrate for a late lunch on Saturday. 1. At 2:00pm, there was a waiting list. Luckily we sat at the bar on the kitchen side. The liquor bar and the kitchen stoves sit back-to-back. We had a birds-eye view of our food being prepared. The menus are in English, but have Greek and Spanish all over it. 2. The food is very filling. 3. We experienced flavors that were new, delicious, and satisfying. We started with the HUEVOS ROTOS - local potato chips,‌ ‌chorizo,‌ ‌and fried eggs. Never knew I would like this. It was so satisfying. We want to make this st home! Our drinks were the LA SUECA RED SANGRIA - garnacha, tempranillo, orange slice, strawberry, cinnamon, nectar. Very satisfying. Also the SPARKLING White SANGRIA - perelada cava, cognac, gin, triple sec, grapes, and blueberries. This was the best. If you only get water, I recommend the Vichy Sparkling water, it has a little salt flavor, add a twist of lemon and it is refreshing. The TORTILLA ESPAÑOLA - Spanish omelette, piquillo peppers, alioli looks deceivingly plane but is chock full of delicious flavors. Next was the JAMÓN sandwich - lady edison nc ham‌, tomato fresco, manchego. The bread was so good, with great taste in every bite. Finally, we finished with the SETAS AL JEREZ - selection of sautéed mushrooms, splash of sherry. Good to the last shroom. Melissa was our server who guided us through the menu and was very enthusiastic. We found out the Cúrate provides benefits and paid time off. Way to go! Tips: The restrooms are labeled "el bàñeo" and unisex. Very clean. Parking is on the street or in private lots, both paid. There are bag hops under the bar for your purse or bag.

WOW WOW WOW! Cúrate really was a special spot! I was visiting Asheville for the weekend and had to make a resy here as it was a Katie Button restaurant. It did not disappoint! Most of the restaurants seating is at two long bars that are the length of the restaurant. It really works out well, blends that southern hospitality with the more unique pace of seeing chefs make their creations. We tried so many dishes and all were just incredible. The lamb skewers were impeccable -- do NOT miss this dish. It's such great flavor and the house pickles are a must with this!! The next was the paella. It was next level. Bursting with flavor and the best bang for the buck! Sooo much food and you just don't want to stop eating it all. The octopus is made so perfectly -- loved this! The patatas bravas are so comforting too, love this. The waitstaff was so friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was so cozy and intimate! Don't skip the sangrias either!!

I had a fabulous lunch at Cúrate on Wednesday! The service was prompt and friendly. The food was excellent and they even have NA wine! The restaurant is super cute inside and I had an awesome table at the bay window making it feel like a European cafe.

We stopped by Curate for a quick lunch and sat at the bar. We each had a glass of Albariño, which was perfect for a warm afternoon. We started with the croquetas de jamón and the chorizo wrapped in potato chips. Both were good, although we thought a dipping sauce would have made them even better. The Ajo Blanco Tuna Tartare was the highlight of the meal--such a unique and delicious combination of fresh tuna, almonds, and chilled garlic soup. We also had the lomo, which was tender and flavorful, and finished with a smooth, sweet flan. Great food, friendly service, and a wonderful spot for lunch in Asheville!

Wow. Wow. Wow. This was our first visit snd we were blown away by everything. The food, the energy, the beauty of the restaurant, the service, everything was stellar during our visit. After having visited Spain and experiencing tapas, our expectations were set high and Cúrate delivered on all levels. We ordered several plates to share, ordered a bubbly white wine and later a pitcher of Sangria and enjoyed the thoughtfulness of their progression of our meal. Every dish was thoughtful and tasty. The patatas bravas were better than some we had in Spain. The lamb skewers were the least favorite as they were slightly overcooked. I missed taking a picture of the mussels because we slopped that up so fast! Overall, I cannot wait to visit again, especially as they change their menu seasonally so new surprises would be amazing. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Very very very disappointed. Do not recommend!!! I'm very sad to say this about such a well established restaurant, but definitely not worth it!! Save your money and your time!! Sure if you're wanting something light to eat that is the price of two people definitely go here! My partner made reservations for this restaurant that was a treat for my birthday, but they sat us at the bar in stools even though we had booked for a table... what's the point of making the reservation then??? They told us when we arrived they didn't have any tables available & asked if stools were okay, and we were too hungry to argue. I got to watch the staff hard at work, for bare minimum of food. The price is unjustifiable for the amount of food and the quality!!!!! Like everything tasted so bland and we had joked we were fighting over pinto beans due to how hungry we still were!! We ordered Lomo de Bellota (not worth it) Pan con tomate (please take this off the menu) Gambas Al ajillo (fancy words for 6 shrimp) Butifarra con potaje (waitress recommended for something "filling", was not filling) I'm sorry to give such a low rating but past the Spanish words, if you think of the flavor of the foods you're gonna keep thinking cause why did we pay so much for ingredient based meals??? I'm never recommending or going here, not even for a snack, drinks okay.

Definitely a chef in the house and beautifully curated full of flavor... Highly recommend!

Was looking forward to checking Curate out since they're a James Beard award winning restaurant. Love the lively convivial atmosphere and the open kitchen. We sat at the bar so had the perfect view to see all the chefs work their magic. Service was efficient albeit not always attentive since our server was too busy talking to others about sports. The food to me was just ok & while I completely understand that these are considered tapas to be shared, they are very small portions. I've had much better authentic Spanish food elsewhere.

Really wanted to like this place, but for us it's a pass -- especially for the price point. The host was nice; we came in without a reservation and were added to the waitlist. The wait was only about 25 minutes, which wasn't too bad. However, we were not aware we were going to be seated at the bar and were not given the option to wait for a table instead. For this type of establishment, you'd also expect warmer and friendlier service. Again, we sat at the bar, which may not have been the best choice, but the service there was inconsistent and at times lacking. You don't pay any less sitting at the bar, so it was definitely disappointing. That said, the food itself was great. We ordered the lamb skewers and the patatas bravas, and both were absolutely delicious. My husband also ordered a coffee and the flan, and the flan was very good as well. The prices are definitely high, but the food quality was solid enough that I could understand the cost. However, part of what makes a higher price point worthwhile is receiving excellent service as part of the overall experience, and unfortunately that just wasn't the case here.

We recently came to Curate for lunch. Here is what we thought. Atmosphere: Curate is located inside a beautiful space. It has all indoor seating. It looks like they also have two bar places to sit at and enjoy food. Curate was nicely decorated on the inside. The space was clean and welcoming. Restrooms: They have two gender neutral bathrooms. One restroom has a changing pad for babies. The restrooms were nice and clean. Service: All the staff we encountered were very friendly. The staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and dishes. The food came out quickly. When we did call about a high chair, it took about 3 calls to finally talk to someone about it. They do have high chairs for babies. Food: We came here because it was recommended by several people to try. We thought the food was good. We have several similar tapas restaurants back at home to compare too and we felt the food was good but not extraordinary in our opinion based off the hype Curate has received. We tried their 'Croquetas de Jamon' to start. They were good, but definitely tasted better with the recommended hot sauce. We also tried their 'Roasted Seasonal Pepper Special' (it wasn't on the menu but recommended by our waitress) and it was ok. It could've used more seasoning and salt in my opinion. Next we tried their 'Berenjenas Con Miel' or fried eggplant, that was really good. We loved the salty and sweetness of the dish. It also wasn't heavy or greasy. Lastly, we shared their 'Arroz de Temporada' paella. That was my favorite dish, the sausage was so flavorful and I loved the burst of the tomatoes. The rice was cooked to perfection. It's definitely enough to share between just two people. Overall, I wasn't blown away by the food like I was expecting. I feel like there might've been dishes we should've tried to really give us that wow factor. This seems like a nice place to come for a nice meal. If we're ever in the Asheville area again, I'd be willing to give them one more try.

Super excited to try this place after watching America's culinary cup featuring Chef Katie Button. We made a reservation at the bar and got to see them in action behind the kitchen. Our server Kelsey was so awesome. Very knowledgeable, friendly and walked us through the menu and made some great suggestions. We ordered some drinks and a handful of tapas to share. Some of my favorites was the toasted bread with tomato, so simple but so freakin delicious. Crispy soft airy bread with a tomato spread that was spot on. Gambas is always a go to for me, the fried eggplant with honey was simple but also tasty. The octopus was on point! So tender and delicious. We could've eaten more but didn't wanna over do it. We loved the vibes and it was a great first stop for us in Asheville!

Just as good as a 5 star Jose Andres restaurant. Tapas is the way to go here. We ate at the bar w a 1 he wait on a Fri night. Bartender and service was excellent. This time tried the bruschetta like tapas, anchovies olive concoction and eggplant starters --every morsel was divine. Then shared the shrimp dish and the salad. Wish we lived closer as we would be here every week. Easily the best restaurant in a 100 mi radius in all aspects of!

Boquerones (anchovies) are one of my favorite dishes!

Is this on the Biltmore property?

No it's downtown

Is bar seating area on first come first serve basis?

Maybe. Some of the bar seats are reservation only, so the best strategy is to make a rez. This restaurant is *very* good and popular, so you may have to make a rez in advance.

We don't have a reservation. Could we eat at the bar (tomorrow/ Sunday night)?

Doubtful

I saw a recent review where someone said it's BYOB. Are y'all not serving alcohol?

They have alcohol

Is it suitable for children?

They defeinitely don't have a kids' menu, so feeding them off the sharing plates will cost you more than Jason's Deli. :-) But their service is very customer friendly and…

Going on a day trip through Asheville and booked for Sunday brunch -- we have been lots for dinner but never for brunch and was wondering if the regular menu is also served along with the shorter brunch menu. Anyone know? Thanks!

YES! Some menu items could be unavailable and there will definitely be daily specials. But the core menu has typically been available when I've been there at different times of day.

Is it open on Christmas Day?

No - they give their employees the day off!

Do they have a Private Parking lot or Valet?

No. Park in the Biltmore Ave. deck (2 hours free).

How hard is it to get a reservation a week out?

It can be hard. I didn't think we would get to go when I was trying to get to go over a week early. There were not any left other than 10am. I kept checking every day and absolutely one day before we wanted to go there were some available. So my…

How long does a typical dinner for two take? If we have a 7pm reservation, could we make it to LaZoom for an 8:30 bus tour?

The amount of time you take depends on how you order your food. You can order all of your food at once so it comes out all at once which would be a typical amount of wait time for your food anywhere else or you can order your food so a dish or two…

Do you take reservations?

Yes! We take reservation through Reserve (online) and by calling the restaurant directly (828) 239-2946.

Is this restaurant dog friendly?

We allow service animals only. There is no outside/patio seating.
