I will say, I do always get vermicelli instead of pho, but the quality of the meat they use is so far superior to and place in the states it blew my mind. In addition to the great quality meat, the variety of vegetables that they use and the freshness also surpasses previous experiences. I will say my girl friend had the pho, she has grown up on pho, and would give it a four star rating. She says the meat was better quality, but she has a hard time rating anything five stars that does not beat her mom's home cooking or the pho in Vietnam. Happy eating!

After a few minutes, they brought me a complementary cup of vegetable and noodles soup. It was nice and refreshing. My dish came out shortly after and I was really surprised on how small it was. They were generous with the beef but the beef pieces were chewy and sinewy. The bun was also very bland even when you added all the nuoc cham sauce. Maybe the sauce didn't have enough flavor? Also, the restaurant seemed extremely dirty. I am completely fine with eating pho at places that arent immaculate. In fact, most of the places with fire pho are usually on the dirty side but there were mysterious white specks all over the hoison sauce and sriracha sauce bottles. Not sure what the origin of the white specks were so we opted not to use these sauces.

But briefly, we got a spring roll (I think it was the sprimp and chicken), a chicken dish (I think we got the half chicken), a pho dish and the grilled chicken and shrimp with salad and vermicelli. The spring rolls were good. Very crunchy wrapping, mixed with a fusion of veges, protein and vermicelli. The half chicken was my least favorite dish. I think it's an acquired taste, but the meat was tough to chew and the sauce was a quite tart. Combining all the factors mentioned above, it was a bit difficult to eat. The pho was good. The soup brough was warm, hearty and filling. The noodles were good too - very soft and easy to eat. The vermicelli dish was also good. Very standard protein and vege vermicelli dish. The chicken was tender and shrimp was grilled to perfection. Not a bad choice for Vietnamese cuisine in Montreal.
