Both the air conditioners in our home were over twenty years old, but they were still working fine…read more Over the past several years, whenever we had a problem with a unit, a contractor from our home warranty company would invariably tell us the unit was too old to be repaired and needed to be completely replaced. Luckily, I found McConahy Mechanical several years ago and they have been outstanding. Every time the home warranty company would say the units weren't repairable, I'd call McConahy and they'd come out within a day and fix the unit for a very reasonable charge. I eventually dropped our home warranty coverage, since it was clear their contractors either weren't competent or weren't honest, or some of both. We finally decided to replace both units this year. The only company I called was McConahy Mechanical, since I trust them implicitly based on all my prior interactions with them. The quotes they gave me were reasonable, Chris McConahy called me to cover the differences between the quotes and answer all my questions, and they scheduled the work within two weeks. The new units were installed over two days, and they are fantastic! As always, the crew from McConahy showed up exactly on time, they were friendly, polite, and professional, the work was done in the time frame they'd quoted, there were no "surprise charges", and they cleaned up meticulously when they were finished. Chris called me over the weekend just to make sure everything about the project had gone smoothly and to make sure we are pleased. Of all the many contractors we've dealt with over the past nearly forty years, I would put McConahy Mechanical at the very top of the list in terms of integrity and professionalism. They have always surpassed our expectations in terms of responsiveness, and every single one of their team members that we've met over the past several years has been a delight to work with. Being able to get a ballpark idea of the cost before someone showed up at my door made things so much easier and not something any other company would agree to. Where we wanted the charging station vs. where the fuse box was located was a lot farther apart than normal, so the cost was higher. However, I expected this since 75+ feet of wire is over $400 online. I also appreciated that he was able to go through the wall in the garage directly into the fuse box so there was no unsightly conduit on the exterior for the HOA to complain about. The hole in the garage drywall was cut neatly but Gary also took the time to add a patching compound to make it look perfect and seamless. I am happy to say I now "know a guy" for my electrical needs that is honest and reliable. I totally recommend Best Electric.
