It was a great experience working with Annette. Very helpful to determine what was needed to restore my 25 year old Homecrest Patio furniture to replace the old cushions. There shop did a excellent job to build the three layer padded sling, which is not a easy task. I did try others firms to do this and they all refused do the complexity of the project. The original manufacture would do it but you had to choose from there fabric list or pay the base price and you ship them your selected fabric. The staff was so patient and helpful. I'm slightly colorblind so I needed a lot of guidance and Annette was patient while we looked at every rack and cut samples. I took them home and placed my order over email. Now I wait a few weeks and they will pick up my 3 pieces and bring them back after 2 weeks. This was my first visit to a By the Yard store. We were greeted with a very friendly and informative employee. She answered any questions we had and showed us the outdoor furniture, explaining the details. The outdoor furniture appears to be very sturdy, comfortable, with a lot of configurations and colors to choose from. The only negative is the price tag! We are still undecided about purchasing but are leaning towards that direction. read more

While shopping around for fabric for my current home project I walked into By The Yard to check out their materials. They have some beautiful fabrics on hand and will give you a bigger than average size sample to take home if you need one. It's also great that they have a workroom and if they were to make the tablecloth the price for the labor seemed reasonable. The fabric prices are high when you compare them to Jo-ann's but they have a better selection and some better lines. They could be more accessible though. I was there for awhile before they acknowledged me with an hello and it took them still longer to ask if they could help. Once acknowledged though they were helpful. read more

I was so happy to find By the yard after browsing through Tempe sales which is an absolute dump! Also had gone to Bocca bargoons which is nice but Way overpriced.also check the fabric in hobby lobby but there was basically no selection there. So when I found by the yard it was a perfect match they had the fabric that I liked for much less and the labor was half the price. Colleen was helpful in making the final decision. The workmanship was excellent . She predicted that the items would be ready in six weeks and to our surprise it was ready in 10 days. I would highly recommend the store and Colleen and I will have future items recovered here for sure. read more

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! I wish I could give 0 stars. Nothing but problems for a chair I tried to have recovered. Took months to have it recovered. When I received it the fabric was on inside out. When I called to let them know they had the audacity to tell me THEY MEANT TO PUT ON BACKWARDS stating it would wear better. What a joke. They took it back and said they discontinued the fabric so they couldn't fix it. Now I am left with an uncovered chair and a waste of 6 months as this whole process took that long!!! Worst part about it is the complete lack of customer service! They will only communicate by email and a response takes days and days to get. I have called them many times and have yet to get a call back. If you end up unhappy you will have a complete waste of 6 months and immense frustration and effort to get them to fix anything. read more

Great selection but very disorganized. Don't expect immediate assistance when you walk Through the door, and expect that they will have difficulty sorting through their own inventory. But don't let that deter you. They have hardware and fabrics that you can't find anywhere else and it's worth the slight irritation to get exactly what you want. read more

Not one "hello". Two employees standing directly in front of me at the desk, both looked up but neither could muster a greeting. Spent about 20 minutes going through all their fabrics, no help. I was the only one in the store, 3 employees working. Two were apparently two busy to be bothered by the potential of more business and the other was on a personal call on her cell phone, gossiping about family members. Needless to say, I walked out. I had custom drapery made here several years ago. They were 2 inches too short. They fixed them, but then the did not hang right. They fixed them sloppily. We gave up and hung them in the back bedroom. Never again. read more
