Cute but pricey stuff…read more We stopped in when we were walking around this cute area of Bloomington. Very welcoming and inviting. We were greeted immediately by the employee at the counter. We browsed and chatted with her. I touched all the luxe looking items and wished my bank account was fatter. We left without buying anything but having feasted our eyes and certainly *wanting* things! I am sure to stop in again when I am back for my semi-annual trek to the town!

It is always extremely frustrating when I scour the internet for hours and come up empty-handed. I have very specific tastes and like invitations to my parties and hosted events to SHOW exactly what you are going to get just by reading/looking at the invitation inside the envelope. The invitation is always anyone's FIRST IMPRESSION about the upcoming event and the standard options just aren't my style. Thank all things good that I found Christy! She is owner of Creative in Bloom and handles every order personally. She has done four invitations for me starting with my sister's bridal shower and bachelorette party invitations. She has since done two other awesome invites, my baby shower invites, my sister-in-law's Christmas cards, my best friend's save the dates and is now working with me on her shower and bachelorette party invites. I just cannot get ENOUGH of her unique mind!! I always send her my event info and ask for something interesting like a "catch phrase" for the invitation. I also am very high maintenance about size, price and colors. She always manages to give me EXACTLY what I am looking for and I didn't even KNOW what I wanted to begin with!! For example, for my shower ...which was hosted on 4th of July, she coined the term "Marcie and Erich are welcoming their little firecracker!" with fireworks in the background and a baby buggy in the front. This is just one idea ...after all, she will come with a unique twist of words for ANY event! Not only that but she is responsive, and I value that highly! I am in the wedding industry myself and work very hard at keeping brides happy by being on my toes. She is certainly that, if not more! She gives options! She allows you to change your mind! She works with a no holds bar attitude towards her work. The sky is the limit! I 100% recommend her for ANYTHING you want to host...rehearsal dinners, weddings, showers, birthday parties, the list goes on and on!! I used to love Hobby Lobby. I would go there regularly and poke around for things I couldn't find…read moreat Michaels. Then along came their opinion about women's health care. I have to admit. That was enough to make me stop shopping there, and I have. I refuse to support any business that feels like they have to get involved at that level, especially when it comes to denying women rights. I stopped back in recently because I needed a large sewing needle, and I just did't feel like making another trip somewhere. I was on the east side, and Hobby Lobby was there. The good news is they seem to have more employees available on the floor than they used to. The bad news is that you'll find an employee before you ever find what you're looking for. There are NO aisle markers at all to tell you what's in there. You might do a complete loop of the store and pass by the thing you're trying to find. So - 2 stars for ugly politics and -1 for no aisle signs. It's a craft store. Make some!

They even filled me in on some exciting sales, including some amazing spinning fibers! I couldn't resist taking home some gorgeous local roving. They also had some really fun collections, like the neon and UV-reactive ones, plus some whimsical monster-themed options. I can't wait to swing by again when I'm in the area--maybe I'll even sign up for a class if they offer one!
