The clerk mentioned that they often get requests for fabric from other Joann's around the area due to the supply at this location. When I had to go back a second time to get more material (we had used the last of the bundle), the clerk remembered the order from the previous day and was able to track down another bundle that was out on the floor. I also am very high maintenance about size, price and colors. She always manages to give me EXACTLY what I am looking for and I didn't even KNOW what I wanted to begin with!! The prices are reasonable for the quality of work. This store is run by a non-profit artist organization, The Pillar Group. There's another similar shop at College Mall in Bloomington, where Victoria's Secret once stood past Target. The art is diverse and has a local and Indiana theme to it. While most jewelry is focused towards women, there are a few pieces of men's gear. It has the feel of a gift shop, and indeed there are greeting cards, and wrapping available for purchases. It's a very wide variety of handmade art, and it's all well-presented. I'm embarrassed how much I've purchased here; the values are pretty good for what I look for. Parking is downtown-crappy, but the store is bright and easy to shop.

If you enjoy looking at hand crafted items like wall hangings, ceramics, and small items that can be gifts for either your friends or for yourself. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed any assistance. Even when I explained that I only stopped in to pass time while my wife shopped next door, he said he understood and to feel free to browse and ask questions. Cute but pricey stuff…read more We stopped in when we were walking around this cute area of Bloomington. Very welcoming and inviting. We were greeted immediately by the employee at the counter. We browsed and chatted with her. I touched all the luxe looking items and wished my bank account was fatter. We left without buying anything but having feasted our eyes and certainly *wanting* things! I am sure to stop in again when I am back for my semi-annual trek to the town!

I used to love Hobby Lobby. I would go there regularly and poke around for things I couldn't find…read moreat Michaels. Then along came their opinion about women's health care. I have to admit. That was enough to make me stop shopping there, and I have. I refuse to support any business that feels like they have to get involved at that level, especially when it comes to denying women rights. I stopped back in recently because I needed a large sewing needle, and I just did't feel like making another trip somewhere. I was on the east side, and Hobby Lobby was there. The good news is they seem to have more employees available on the floor than they used to. The bad news is that you'll find an employee before you ever find what you're looking for. There are NO aisle markers at all to tell you what's in there. You might do a complete loop of the store and pass by the thing you're trying to find. So - 2 stars for ugly politics and -1 for no aisle signs. It's a craft store. Make some!
