Communication, response, delivery, set-up and pickup were all completed seamlessly and with extensive communication. My wife was in severe pain from an injury and couldn't get up and down from sitting. I was recovering from a torn shoulder and was struggling to help her. I called Max and he helped me decide on an electric sit/stand recliner. He had it delivered to my house within hours. It was a complete game changer. She slept in it for almost a month. The slight adjustments she could make in reclining alleviated her pain so she could sleep. Max even helped me with the paperwork so I could get reimbursement from my FSA account. I recently needed a knee scooter to keep the weight off my broken foot & sprained ankle. Not having any idea where to find one, I did some searching and came up with BW. BW is run by a guy named Max who is very responsive via phone and email and can help you figure out exactly what you need, explain how the rentals work with insurance etc. (And I mean SUPER responsive, most emails answered in minutes!) However, from what I can tell, he's not always at the shop (in fact, he wasn't at the shop either when I picked it up or dropped it off). The folks at the shop unfortunately aren't as well equipped to help figure things out; you basically need to arrange everything with Max in advance, and if there are issues when you get there, call Max and have him work with the staff on the details. The staff is doing their best to be helpful but it's clear some of them aren't fluent enough in English to conduct a conversation about billing, insurance etc. which is tough even for many native English speakers. They can get you the equipment that you've already arranged for with Max and take it back when you're done though. One of the staff showed me how to collapse and restore the knee scooter and helped me get it to my car, taking my CC info in a rather manual fashion. He was very nice. The equipment worked fine for my purposes, I used it for about a month and then returned it with no issue. The parking situation is a bit confusing, if you're coming from Plyers Mill on Metropolitan, pass the shop and then park in the first parking lot which doesn't have signage indicating that you're in the correct spot. You gotta take it on faith (and Max' assurance) that it's ok to park there. All in all, I'd absolutely use their services again if (and I hope I don't, because breaking your foot sucks!) need them. I went to 4 stars instead of 5 because of the awkwardness of having the in-shop staff not fully able to assist. I think if Max were onsite you'd be sure to have a 5 star experience, it's just a little less streamlined with him being remote. read more

My elderly mother rented a Chair for my father for post surgery. They said it was a nap/sleep recliner but it was far too short for anyones legs to be supported properly. Stopped about mid calf on a 5'7" man. I reached out about 45 min later once I was able to located the contact info to try and explain that there was a misunderstanding and we weren't going to be able to use the chair. I of course said that we would want to pay for the labor of the pick up and delivery of the chair. Since my husband had just seen the delivery driver speeding down the street minutes earlier we hoped he could just come back that same day but understood if they couldn't come till the next day. Even though we had the chair for less than a hour the manager wanted to charge for minimum a week rental. He tried to sell us on a different chair and was very pushy. My parents are elderly and they also thought they would be getting a chair with a table, which the manager said he didn't have any chairs with tables. Then he went on to ask if we wanted to change chairs, and sent a picture of a chair with a table... the customer service was terrible and Max the manager was quite rude. I am still hoping that they will resolve this matter. read more

This will be my second time going in where the person who's assisting me doesn't work there.... and for some reason the guy in the back who does work there didn't have time to come out and assist me I stood there for about 10 minutes while his wife and him talked in the back . So his wife and I just had to agree on a random price. Then come to find out the product has a hole in the bag and scratches and little black spots all over it. I go back to exchange and dealt with a much nicer employee, however was still given one that was covered in a scratches and black spots...(not what you want to see on a "new" nebulizer tube) Even thought it is more expensive, I'll be taking my business to Kensington pharmacy from now on. read more

We had to rent two wheelchairs for a December 2016 wedding in downtown DC, and this place was recommended to me by a friend. Everyone knows that weddings are stressful, so it was great that BW was easy to work with. We visited the store to make the rental reservation (pretty convenient location if you are in the Rockville/Silver Spring/North Bethesda corridor) and worked with Max to arrange drop off times for the wheelchairs. LOSING MY WHEELS: I am not sure this company even deserves a single star. My fiancé and I did our research and decided to rent a wheelchair for my 85 year old grandmother through BW Surgical. We arrived on Saturday morning and right off the bat the office the manager came from the back room looking dazed and not all together. Hangover? High? Tired? We aren't sure. But his head was not in the game. After telling him we needed the wheelchair through the following Friday he proceeded to sign us up, take our credit card and we were out the door. The following Wednesday when my Grandmother got into the wheelchair, not 10 minutes in the large right wheel fell off!!!!!Luckily my fiancé was pushing her and was able to hold her up. Otherwise her fragile body would have plummeted to the ground. This is a huge liability. The company had zero empathy. When we returned to BW Surgical Friday to return the rental they claimed we kept the wheelchair past the due date (manager error), and we would not be refunded. We were shocked and disappointed. BW Surgical Supply of Keningston, MD has to be the most unscrupulous business in the Metro area. Even after the Management was notified and admitted that the reservation clerk did not disclose all the terms of renting equipment, neither verbal nor written, they have chosen to be cheats and not to issue a refund for the weeks their equipment was returned and not used. The unethical way the Manager runs his business is applauding and is certainly not deserving of support from the community, especially in the health care industry. read more

No we don't have that and hung up the phone. Unfortunately, we have needed to rent hospital beds a few times, and this was the most uncomfortable hospital bed...so bad that we couldn't use it. When we called the next day to have it picked up, they were not willing to waive even part of the $190 delivery and pick-up fee. All I got back was the $60 cost of the mattress.
