Dawsonville keeps proving that great local businesses are alive and well…read more
I stopped by IGY6 Coffee Company and immediately understood why people enjoy spending time here. Chris and his wife have built something special. The shop is clean, welcoming, and incredibly well thought out. Whether you're looking for a comfortable couch to relax, a family table, an individual workspace with power outlets, or just a quiet place to read a book, they've created a space that works for everyone.
One of my favorite touches was their community book exchange. Grab a book, enjoy a coffee or pastry, read for a while there or at home, and bring it back when you're finished. It's a simple idea, but it adds a lot of character to the shop.
I'm not a coffee drinker, so I went with the COMBAT CLUB sandwich (ham, turkey, bacon, swiss, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, garlic aoli on sourdough), chips, a Diet Coke, and a Reese's peanut butter cookie. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The sandwich was loaded with meat and made for a great lunch.
The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. You order and they'll call out your name for pick up when it's ready.
I also got to meet Cassie, the service dog who quietly hangs out in her own little corner. She was adorable and perfectly behaved.
What stood out most wasn't any single menu item... it was the atmosphere. The entire place feels like it was designed to bring people together.
Between places like Roundabout Deli, Hatsu Hibachi, and now IGY6 Coffee Company, Dawsonville is building a reputation for some truly outstanding locally owned businesses.
I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Thank you Chris & team for doing what you do!! Wishing y'all much success
Edit: They also have a drive thru
