As far as college bookstores go, this one is pretty good. It's quite big. Having seen several other…read moreCSU bookstores, this one is really big and well stocked. The prices of the books are what you would expect, but they have a Chegg rental station too, which is kind of cool. For everyday use (as opposed to just book buying time), this store fits a lot of needs. I can run in here and buy a sandwich in the deli area, get coffee from the coffee shop, buy a Mac, apparel, or Clinique makeup. What I don't love about this store is that whenever it is book buying season, they hire a bunch of "security" from an outside place, but it's just a crew of people from the temp agency who walk around and make you feel uncomfortable. Extra security is fine, but why the strangers? We have plenty of students to employ, even if it's just temporarily.

This shop may be in an obscure place off of highway 32 but it is the worth the trip and definitely a superior comic book and the best one in the area by a mile. This shop is family owned and it definitely shows. Its very clear that everyone who works here is a lover of comics as well and they are very friendly and knowledgeable. They take an interest in their customers and recognize regulars and address them by name when they come in. All new releases are clearly displayed on a big wall, and the tend to not mark up their back issues that are only a few months old. This place also has an amazing selection of t shirts, statues, board games and all the usual stuff. Its decently sized without being way too huge and has a great sense of charm and wonder. Lacks the sertle corporate feeling of certain large comic shops.

Yikes. At least another employee responded saying, "omg stop saying that at work!" (Which like, don't say that at all?? In the year 2026?? We know better, c'mon. They also were continuing loud conversations throughout my visit which doesn't bother me but also, seems they get a bit toooo comfortable sometimes. I implore the employees to please be mindful of time and place. ORIGINAL REVIEW (4 stars): I really really like this store and I frequently come just to browse. I think I can say I got the most value when my baby was a bit younger, like when I was pregnant and from newborn to, say, 6 months or so? Now that my baby is older, around 12 months, I don't find nearly as many things it seems. Or maybe I just don't need as much anymore. I find the service pretty friendly and responsive. They usually ask if I'm ready before I am (not in a bad way), and when I am ready, I never have to wait long for someone to check me out. I'm somewhat surprised that some say that employees are unfriendly. Idk if they're overtly "sunny" personalities, but they never give me problems or leave me in a bad mood either. But maybe that was a previous group of employees who have cycled through. I find their pricing hit or miss. You can't just trust it to be a good deal in my opinion. You *can* get a great deal, and they have special clearances that you can really get some good finds, but look it up. Don't just trust that it's a good deal automatically. For example, looking for pair of shoes for my baby, I was looking for some Stride Rites. On Amazon, they're like $40-60. I figured this was a great thing to look for at OUAC... I found a pair for $9. Well, upon closer examination, these were Munchkin by Stride Rite... Walmart. Looked it up, they were $12 brand new. I also am a bit disappointed in the condition/cleanliness of items like the strollers and high chairs. They just seem rooough to me for the prices they are charging. They also have to display the strollers outside which increases the dirtiness and they get pretty noticeably sun faded. This also is one of the stores where you can't *not* be in the way. I actually prefer the Redding store over the Chico one because of how much space there is and the layout. But they do use the space they have well; they just have much less of it (as I mentioned, they have to display the strollers outside because there is physically not enough room inside the store).

Employees walked right past me without so much as a glance, and when an older staff member finished with a group of customers, I was clearly next in line yet he looked right past me and helped a customer who had just walked in. To make matters worse, he then spent his time chatting with his wife about a customer's account while I stood there waiting. The other employee who had already walked past me without acknowledgment? He went on to help yet another customer who arrived after I did. I have never felt so invisible in a retail setting. Not a single person asked if I needed help or even made eye contact. The level of indifference here was truly disappointing, and it's clear that customer service is simply not a priority for this business.
