They were fast friendly and told me that the parts are not available by Hunter Douglas anymore, but they tried searching the web and could not find a replacement part. Three are motorized, and two are manual. One motorized blind's motor failed, and one manual blind's string frayed. The motorized blinds were inoperable, but the manual blinds could be opened and closed with effort and look crooked when open. We bought our condo in 2025, but the blinds were installed in 2021. I didn't know who installed them, so I researched local blinds and curtain installers in Honolulu. Hale Blinds was recommended. I called them, and the owner said they could come over soon. He inspected both blinds and confirmed the motor was damaged and unrepairable. He said HunterDouglas doesn't send out only motors and that my blinds were too old to source parts elsewhere. He also said the blinds with the frayed string couldn't be fixed because it would involve taking the entire track down and ruining it. He then suggested ordering a pair of new blinds at around $6000 to replace the them. He offered to bring a sample book and discuss my choices. I thanked him and promised to contact him; with no intention to do so. I knew I was being scammed. By pure luck, I contacted another business, who confirmed they had installed my unit's blind in 2021. I won't mention them so as not to appear as shilling for them. They were shocked when I both explained the problem and shared Hale Blinds's solution. They offered a replacement motor and restringing for the manual blinds. I ordered a motor, which took a month, and they installed it and restrung the other one. The total cost was $600, significantly less than buying new ones. I was disappointed by Hale Blinds misrepresentation and lack of honesty; especially after having such a pleasant conversation with him. I'd caution everyone to always get multiple quotes for repairs or new blinds if you deal with them; and I'd also be cautious about them honoring warranties based on their actions.

Owner proceeded to explain why it took so long and defend her position instead of getting to the point of scheduling repair. Based on her explanation that repairs are scheduled around installations (where they earn a few thousand or more) I've no idea when repair can occur. I don't recommend this company since it was sold. I bought shades in 2020 for office and home, loved them: I avoided chains in office, got pull down blinds, so glad I did. Chains break, jam, this is the 2nd chain repair in 5 years. 1. Avoid chains on shades, no problems with the manual pull down shades. 2. Avoid Budget Blinds, repairs r too difficult to get, new owners are understaffed, overuse answering services, owner has limited if any business experience with public: she explains, defends instead of taking care of business directly.

Sarah listened intently to what my husband & I wanted and offered much needed suggestions as to color (what would look good with our wall color), texture and style. I thought I knew what I wanted, however, after listening to Sarah about the pros and cons, she made me realize that I wanted what I originally didn't want. After our selective choice, our wait was a little over 3 weeks before the product was shipped to her. Jon (installer) came on a Monday morning and installed our blinds in less than an hour.
