Had very high expectations for this spot but it did not hit the spot. While the pancakes were delicious, the catfish and fried chicken lacked seasoning and was bland. Enjoyed the size of the pancake tacos they were cool. The waffles were okay. The French toast was cooked good but felt like it was a missing that signature taste. A social media post caught my attention of this establishment. This place is considerably small, with not much room to walk. I place a pickup order at the kiosk and did not receive a receipt, which was quite strange even after asking the staff for one. The staff seemed rushed due to the 3pm closing time looming as more customers arrived. While waiting, I witnessed a seated couple leave due to having to ask for menus and the nonchalant response from one of the staff members. I order a short-stack side of pancakes ($7) based on what I saw on social media, and a breakfast platter ($16 for scrambled eggs with cheese, biscuit with peach jam, turkey bacon, and potatoes). 3-stars for the breakfast platter (no peach jam) and a lesson learned for the pancakes. It's my second time visiting Buttermilk Biscuit this month and they didn't disappoint. My boo and I decided to visit for Easter brunch. There was no wait for seating. Our server was nice and friendly and our food and drinks arrived in under 20 minutes. I tried the chicken and waffles and they were perfect. The chicken wings were crispy and seasoned and I added a few splashes of Texas Pete too. The waffles were fluffy with a hint of vanilla. Ordered the catfish, shrimp, and grits bowl. Buttermilk Biscuit is located near StoneCrest Mall. It's down from the mall in a strip mall. There is decent free parking. There are several businesses in the strip mall. It has a new contemporary feel. The staff was friendly. We were seated after about 5 minutes. Staff cleans tables and menus between every customer. They do a great job keeping it clean and flow of business moving. My granny and I enjoyed our brunch together. The French toast breakfast sandwich was fire. Not gonna lie the reviews on here had me worried. The sandwich was delicious!! I ate every bite. The bacon was cooked perfectly. It came with side syrup but not needed for me. I visit this establishment this morning after leaving Nissan for an oil change, I had a craving for sausage gravy biscuit. I placed the order, it also came with a side and I chosed the eggs. It took about 30 minutes. They put the gravy to the side, when I got home to eat, it was horrible to say the lease! The gravy was not what I was looking for. Visited on a Monday around noon and I wasn't impressed. For the most part, the issues I saw in the front of the house seem to be attributed to not having enough staff. Although, the location is pretty small so I'm not sure that they needed more than two waitresses. From the time I walked in the door until I was seated took about 10 minutes. That was 10 minutes of me standing at the door and not being acknowledged at all. The lady in front of me said she'd been there for 15 minutes. While waiting at the door I could see that all of the empty tables needed to be cleared and cleaned. Once seated, it took another 10 minutes or so for the waitress to take my order. I had to ask for silverware and napkins after my food arrived. Now let's talk about the food. The pancakes were overcooked for my liking. I ordered the catfish and grits and both tasted good but I wish they'd been served together and not with the grits in a separate bowl. Lastly, the biscuit was dry which made the consistency crumbly. We ordered but learned they were out of a few menu options including mimosas (which looked to be the premade bottle you can buy yourself.) A little disappointing but it was an hour prior to closing and things run out. No complaints on the food. It came out in a reasonable time. Parking was free and plentiful. I wish I could actually review my food, but we didn't even eat it. The ONLY good thing about this place during our experience was our server and the SECOND order of blueberry bites because the FIRST order was still raw and doughy in the middle so I sent it back. I just had to cut and examine each one the next time before eating with confidence. I ordered the buttermilk biscuits and gravy dish and my boyfriend ordered the homestead skillet. As pictured my gravy was thick and lumpy, it had a gummy texture and I've never been served gravy like that before. The flavor was there but the presentation and texture was an absolute no for me. There was also barely any meat in the gravy. I didn't even get into the eggs because I knew I wasn't about to eat here at this point. My boyfriend's potatoes were crispy on the outside but somehow hard inside and unseasoned. The "slices" of avocado (circled in the pic) that were supposed to be on top were literal slivers of rubbery avocado. I decided it was time to go and to not even give them any more of a chance on a bill that was gonna be prob $40+. My waitress was so pleasant, she heard my concerns and told the manager. Do you think the manager came and spoke with us? Nope, she just wanted to assure we still paid for the blueberry bites although that was messed up as well. She didn't care that patrons were literally walking out on an entire meal and why. We paid for the bites and orange juice and left. We should've just went to Angie's next door, I BET that food was better and cheaper there. We wasted time and still left hungry. I typically read reviews before visiting restaurant, but that day I just trusted that we would be good. Boy was I wrong. This is the first restaurant I've ever walked out of in my entire life. Based on my experience and reviews, cut the food and just sell the blueberry bites (everyone loves those as long as they're actually cooked through)....That's the only good thing yall got going. Oh my worth EVERY penny! The appetizer had me excited about how the rest of the food would taste and I wasn't to be disappointed. My husband can be a picky person when it comes to his food, but first bite of the biscuit had him closing his eyes and making sounds of appreciation. We've been trying to get an opportunity to visit this location since it's in our backyard since the opening. Today we decided to give them a change on a rainy Saturday morning. No problem with parking, we were seated quickly and the waitstaff were very friendly and helpful going over the menu choices. Only opportunity for me was the floor was very, very slippery! Now on to our food choices... We waited about 15-20 minutes for our food which is reasonable, considering it was packed. I decided on the turkey club sandwich and my wife had the cheese grits, eggs, chicken and a biscuit. There were no complaints, food was delivered hot and as ordered. I woke up with Buttermilk Biscuit on my brain. I had been meaning to visit this place for a while. Wifey was not really that hungry, but I still dragged her along anyway (LOL). We approached the property and found a spot in the shared parking lot, which was a decent size. We took a short walk over, entered and made eye contact with the young hostess at the far end of the small dining room. She motioned us over to a small table for two before handing us menus. We reviewed the menu quickly. Wifey stuck to her guns and decided not to eat. Our server came over shortly after. She was soft spoken and not very smiley, but she quickly took our order. I ordered the French Toast with bacon. Wifey went with just a coffee and an orange juice. I also noticed they had a self serve kiosk for ordering food. I am assuming that is for ordering food to go. We were hanging and enjoying the R&B classics playing in the background. The food took longer than expected, but every plate I saw pass by looked good. At one point, our server walked around us with two plates, a breakfast sandwich and French toast. That French toast made a full lap around the dining room before landing back at our table. When it arrived, it looked fresh. I dug in and it was light, not greasy and excellent. The meal was a winner! I finished quickly and asked for the check. Overall, this was a solid first visit to Buttermilk Biscuit. The dining room was bright and clean, and the food was fresh and delicious. My husband and I decided to try buttermilk biscuits in Stonecrest Georgia this past Sunday after leaving church. We were told it would take about 20 minutes to be seated and of course there was quite a few people in front of us awaiting for a table. About 35 minutes , we were provided a table for two and was told it would be an additional 45 minutes before food would arrive. The establishment, lacked customer service, but it could have been due to the servers frustration with the back up in the kitchen. Food almost received a 100% grade until my husband noticed his chicken wings were uncooked . They did make a good by providing us with another order of chicken wings however, no discount on the bill. Let's start by saying we were seated about 1 PM this afternoon by the hostess, who by the way, is partly why I'm even giving the 1 star. This place is EVERYTHING!! This is a gem of a dining spot. The ambience is nice - the dining area is crisp and clean and open. We were greeted right away and seated immediately. Our server, Crystal, was attentive and sweet and very helpful. We wanted to order one of everything from the menu! I went for a light meal of avocado toast and it was perfect. The restaurant could be bigger if it wasn't so much space behind the bar. They could have at least 3 more tables. There are no free refills on juice & soda,they don't have an ice or drink machine. I had cheese grits with fried shrimp. The grits were very good except they put raw peppers & onions so it took over the taste of the grits. I think the oil they fried the shrimp in was old. Also the potatoes was supposed to have peppers & onions. The potatoes tasted like frozen potatoes & I'm not exaggerating when I say there were 2 pieces of peppers &1 piece of onion. I thought to myself how can they mess up these two dishes? i will tell you... It was very frustrating trying to pick up the pancake pieces with a fork and the pieces falling off before you can make it to your mouth. 1.They need a better recipe for their pancakes. The bacon was good but small strips. 2. The catfish batter is way too salty. I took one bite and I could not eat it. The waitress had the cook to cook me another piece with no salt but when I tasted the 2nd piece, I realized it was the batter. They need to just use good ole cornmeal and a little S&P because most prepackaged batters are way too salty. I don't know how anyone can eat salty fish. Last, the grits with cheese. The presentation was great with all the cheddar cheese melted on top - beautiful but they did too much cream or cream cheese whatever they added to the grits overpowered the flavor of the grits themselves. When I stirred the cheddar cheese into the grits all I could see is this white thick cream oozing out as I stirred. I said to myself 'Oh no this is too much cream in the little bowl'. 3. I was right just too much cream. Please keep the grits simple. We southerners don't want all that extra stuff messing up our grits.
