    Cold Buttebeer

Okay, I tried the Butterbeer. Even though I'm not a Harry Potter guy (that's the missus), I did want to try it. I don't drink alcohol anymore so it was nice to have a non-alcoholic drink at the park. It has an interesting flavor. It's like butterscotch with vanilla. Not bad, not amazing, but decent. After 3/4 of the cup though, I was done with it. It can be a bit much! A bit sweet. But not bad!

Harry Potter and the gang love butterbeer, so of course I have to try it! (Though I have made my own "adult" version at home, too!). The butterbeer cart is very convenient, and I recommend stopping by before you catch the train in Hogsmeade to sip on the way! You can get it cold or frozen, and you can also get Pumpkin Juice and Lemonade there too if you want. We opted for the cold soda, and they top it with some sort of sweetened cream situation. It was really good, but I couldn't drink more than a little bit - thank goodness we were sharing! It was SO sweet! Definitely worth trying, but just a little warning for others who can't tolerate tons of liquid sugar.

After half day of waiting in line and sweating my butt off in universal island of adventure, we were just exhausted. Had to have some cool water saving the last thread of sanity which is left. Thankfully a butterbeer cart was around so went for it. So how is the legendary butterbeer? Does it match the taste standard of Harry potter book? It's basically a sweetened and lighter version of some root beer with light whipped cream, chill but without ice to dilute flavor. Would definitely recommend, will buy and drink at all if I can.

Butterbeer can be had many places throughout Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley but what's better than grabbing some from the official Butterbeer cart?! You can get the regular or frozen version here. Plus you can take a seat at one of the nearby shaded picnic tables though seating is limited. We had the frozen 16 ozs of butterbeer for $7.50. It really is a big portion and it ended up being more than enough for two of us. We had ours in a normal cup but for a few bucks more you can get a special mug. Butter beer has a rich and sweet butterscotchy flavor...I personally love it. The line was supppppper long at the Butterbeer Cart though! Getting it from the cart is kind of a thing you 'have' to do if you're a Potter fan, just because. But you're usually better off hopping over to the Hopping Pot for a shorter line!

While strolling through Hogsmeade at Universal's Islands of Adventure, I became aware of this beverage being served at some of the eateries nearby and at a few Butterbeer carts along the village streets. Joe K and I decided that this is a drink that a tourist must try at least once while exploring the world of Harry Potter! There always seemed to be a long line at the drink carts, but moved along fairly quickly. The name "Butterbeer" sounded unusual to say the least. Is it beer with butter in it? I just couldn't imagine the flavor combination. I'm not fond of beer and I don't like buttermilk either! So I was hesitant to give it a try, until Joe bought one for himself. After he gave me his description, I took a taste and agreed that it was kind of like an Italian soda with a double shot of butterscotch flavoring added. Then a frothy layer of cream is added on top to give it a head for that appearance of a beer, but without the alcohol. It's very rich and sweet tasting, which would make a good dessert style drink for those with a sweet tooth. You can also request this drink prepared like an icee, and for an additional charge, buy the souvenir mug. The cart itself is created in that old world Harry Potter theme with costumed server. You can also purchase a few other juices, including Pumpkin Juice and of course water... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBSR-Vkz2RQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2btb5KaYy-w

Technically, the butterbeer cart doesn't exist in the Harry Potter books or movies, but I shouldn't complain because the greater accessibility to butterbeers around the park, the better. The line moves very quickly, both here and at the snowman cart, which also sells butterbeer, by the other entrance to Hogsmeade. These carts offer two versions of butterbeer: cold and frozen. The hot version is sold at The Three Broomsticks, Hog's Head, and The Leaky Cauldron. Described as "a little bit like less-sickly butterscotch", the frozen butterbeer has just the right amount of sweetness, and tasted like a delicious butterscotch slushy topped with a creamy, frothy butterscotch head. As everyone else has also described, the cold version is like a butterscotch-flavored, carbonated cream soda. Both are delicious, so give each a try. You simply can't go to the WWOHP without purchasing a butterbeer. The Starbucks secret menu's version just doesn't compare! The plastic butterbeer mug is around $9, and a butterbeer is $4 or $5 for cold or frozen, respectively. The plastic mug allows you to get refills on fountain sodas for $0.99 throughout both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Plus, it makes a great, relatively inexpensive, souvenir.

What can I say...it's amazing every time I come back! There's a frozen slush option versus a regular version. I always opt for the frozen one which is amazing on hot days.

There are three different option for butterbeer: took temperature, hot or cold. I personally like cold the best. The butterbeer is really sweet so you do need to have a sweet tooth to truly enjoy all butterbeer has to offer. Butterbeer is pricey but what can you expect at a music park. I personally believe it is worth it and get it every time I'm in universal.

For some reason as a child who was reading the books, I always thought butter beer was more like a soft drink rather than a smoothie, but hey what do I know right? The best way to describe the taste is caramel root beer that has a icy type texture and its not as carbonated as soda is. It will cost you aound $6 to get this. Personally, I thought it was okay, maybe I set my expectations too high but it just didn't blow me away like it does for most people. Everyone has to try at least once if they visit Harry Potter World.

So we just watched the Harry Potter Christmas show on the castle and we were on our way out when the kids wanted Butter Beer. We were informed that the cart was closed, so we were sent back down towards the castle to the other cart. There was an associate there that said THAT cart was closed. We went back to this original cart and told the big tall guy with long hair and glasses what had happen and he condescendingly told us to just get in the line. We did what he said and the associate firmly told us the cart was closed. We reiterated the whole story to her and she said she would let us in the line. THANK YOU, Sarah, for making the end of our kids' night a pleasant one.

You really can't leave Universal Studios without trying at least one type of butterbeer, so my friend and I stopped by the first cart we saw peddling this unique elixir (this cart) and got the Frozen Butterbeer ($7.50, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=V5qDs9kv5rW23Gk06vWGKA&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg). It has a taste reminiscent of butterscotch, and was definitely on the sweet side. However, the ice helped it from being sickeningly sweet, and also cooled us off on a hot and humid Florida day. Highly recommended that you try this at least once if you're in Harry Potter World!

She patiently answered questions and gave us plenty of time to decide without leaving us to feel like we were forgotten. The restaurant has a steam punk decor which is so fun! There are three options when you walk in. You can stay and eat, pick out a delicious chocolate or sweet treat from their candy counter or you can order an ice cream/desert from the other counter. We made a reservation, which I recommend. We started with the chocolate almond bread with caramel butter. I will be dreaming about this bread for a long time! It was the prefect texture and balance of flavors! For meals we got the Monte Cristo sandwich, the Mushroom risotto and the bacon cheeseburger. The Monte Cristo was huge and very filling. Easily shareable. It came with a berry sauce and fresh berries along the side, as well as a choice of French fries or kettle chips. The risotto was creamy and delicious. There were good sized pieces of mushrooms through out. The bacon on the cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and they were long strips too. For dessert we got the Strawberry Cheesecake shake and the Brookies and cream sundae. I heard that the shake was delicious. The Brookie was a wonderful blend of soft chocolate chip cookie and chewy brownie. The cookies and cream ice cream was loaded with Oreo pieces. The whole thing was devine! It was a pricey meal for us but worth the experience.

The parking lot is spacious and easy to navigate, which already sets the tone for a smooth, stress-free visit. Once inside, you quickly realize just how expansive this market truly is--you could easily spend an hour (or more) exploring every aisle without even noticing the time go by. What makes this market stand out is its depth and authenticity. As an Asian supermarket, it offers an extraordinary range of products that go far beyond what you'll find in standard grocery stores. The produce section alone is worth the visit--fresh, vibrant fruits and vegetables, many of which are unique or hard to find elsewhere, are beautifully displayed and constantly restocked. As you move through the aisles, you'll discover an impressive selection of: Specialty herbs, spices, and seasonings Authentic sauces and condiments from across Asia An entire world of noodles, rice varieties, and pantry staples A wide assortment of snacks, beverages, and imported goods If you're cooking Asian cuisine, you will find absolutely everything you need here--no exceptions. It's the kind of place where both home cooks and seasoned food lovers can get inspired just by walking through the aisles. Beyond groceries, Lotte Plaza Market feels more like an international marketplace. You'll find plants, beauty products, and specialty items, adding to the overall experience and making it more than just a place to shop--it's a place to explore. A helpful tip: since many items are imported, be mindful to check expiration dates on packaged goods, and keep an eye out for promotions. Some products can be on the pricier side, but there are definitely great deals if you take a moment to browse. One of the highlights--and honestly one of the main reasons I return--is the indoor food court-style dining area. There are several small eateries where you can order directly at the counter. While the setup is casual and straightforward, the food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and satisfying--perfect for a quick and delicious stop during your visit. To elevate the experience even further, the market also features a French bakery, along with beauty boutiques and a hair salon, giving it the feel of a small international plaza rather than a traditional grocery store. Overall, Lotte Plaza Market delivers on every level--selection, authenticity, and experience. Whether you're shopping for specific ingredients, discovering new products, or simply stopping in for a quick bite, it's absolutely worth the visit. Even if you're not familiar with Asian cuisine, this is the kind of place you go to explore, learn, and enjoy something different. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend making the trip--you'll understand why the moment you walk in.

However, it is quite fun, when we got there on a Saturday night, they were having a Taylor Swift look alike performance. I absolutely loved it. It turned out it was happening every hour so we were able to watch her perform twice. They also had someone selling jewelry and an artist painting, overall it is such a fun vibe. If you want a standard table, you need to make a reservation, I made a reservation like 15 minutes before and they only had outdoor seating and high tops available. We chose a high top and it was fine. They do have a kids menu so my son was able to order a cheese pizza with a side of fries and the other one ordered a chicken quesadilla with a side of fruit. On the kids menu it says cheese quesadilla but he really wanted chicken, I was surprised the chicken was a bit spicy. He ate a couple bites and then asked for his own cheese pizza after seeing his brothers. All the plates are meant to be shared so they come out whenever they're ready. My older son's cheese pizza came out immediately and then my younger son's chicken quesadilla came out after all our food had been delivered. I think this is what made him want a cheese pizza because he didn't have his own meal for majority of the time we were eating. When we finally ordered his cheese pizza it then took a long time to come out. I'm guessing it's because it's woodfired and his pizza was behind a ton of other pizzas whereas with my older son we must've ordered at a good time. My absolute favorite dish was the marinated cucumbers. It was a light and delicious. It reminds me of what I find at a Japanese restaurant. I also got the butter chicken, it was OK. I didn't find the chicken super tender so I would skip it next time. We also got the maple glazed chicken wings. I found the breading to be overly salty. I ended up taking off all of the breading and my younger son ate a ton of the chicken. I would skip it next time. We got the steak skewers, which were pretty delicious. Again didn't love it so probably would get something else next time. My husband did not like his ribs so he definitely should skip that next time. So overall, the food was OK, but my kids absolutely destroyed their pizza and I love the atmosphere, which is why I'm giving this place four stars. I see that it has great potential. If parking is a problem, I recommend parking at icon park and walking because it's about five minutes away. Our server was super nice, she was a bit slow, but she also had a giant table next to us, which could've contributed to that. I would definitely come back. I enjoyed our experience here.
