    Wine tasting

A must visit!! This winery has it all - great selection of wines (especially dry), music, food, and kind owners. We came on a Friday afternoon when Mach One band was playing country classics - that paired with a great wine tasting made for the best afternoon. We can't wait to be back!

Service was great. Staff very friendly and quick to assist with questions. Outdoor space was nice and they had a musician playing as well. Tastings were reasonably priced and included a free sangria. Unfortunately we found some of the wines not to be to our taste. A good experience nonetheless.

You've probably sped by the road sign for this winery on US 290... I know I have but never had the time to stop off. That finally changed over the holidays when we were on our way towards SETX from Austin and took a small detour to check this place out. When you turn off 290, you'll pass some natgas drilling sites and wonder, hmmm, there's a winery out here? Yes, it's tucked away off the street with a very cute pond and setup. My boyf and I both got our own tastings, which is very reasonably priced at $15 (thank you for not being egregious like $30-$50 range for a tasting). The tastings are served in the cutest small beakers that you pour into your wine glass. As most wineries on our area, they get their grapes from other parts of Texas and make it their own. The owner is a chemist by trade, so none of the wines had any off flavors. Their wines are light and easier to drink, if you're looking for more depth and complexity from your reds, these are slightly lacking (not enough oak in some of the wines or lack of tobacco, etc.). Overall, the wines are good and consistent. I had a glass of their rose as well and I liked that it veered on the drier side. People were lovely and they do have food if you're hungry. Give this place a visit if you're passing by or looking for a day trip from Austin/Houston.

Stop HERE, I promise you it will be worth it! I live in houston and frequently travel to Austin and this Winery was the first stop I truly enjoyed multiple Reds at! The owner is so kind and really accommodating. The wines range from light body to very dry and delicious! Left with a bottle of the Malbec and thinking about joining the wine club because of my experience. My husband enjoyed the classic coke float and the charcuterie board as well! For a winery they had a lot of food options like pork sliders and chicken salad sandwiches (just some heavier options listed) of course they have the classics like hummus, cheeses and some yummy desserts! Atmosphere was peaceful, shaded and there were fans so on a hot day in Texas you can site inside or under the ample amount of shaded area outside! I hoe you enjoy your experience as much as me and my husband! :)

6 wines of your choice tasting for $15

We had a lovely, unexpected / unplanned visit to Busted Oak Cellars. My parents and I did a day trip from Austin to Round Top and after pulling off of 290, we saw this winery while heading to our initial destination (it's maybe about a mile from 290). Once we wrapped up our visit to Round Top, we decided to stop at Busted Oak Cellars on the way home. We were glad we did. It's set back a bit from the road, but has a good amount of parking at the tasting room. The tastings cost $15 each and include your choice of 6 wines from a menu of 20+ choices. There are plenty to choose from whatever your preference is! The tasting is self-paced and on your own - you receive small beakers with each of your choices and a single wine glass to consume your choices from. The tasting room is cozy and the staff is extremely friendly. We even had a chance to meet the owner and talk with her for a bit. They have a food menu with good options to go with your wine - whether a tasting, a glass or a bottle. They grow some grapes onsite and then use Texas grapes (primarily from the High Plains) for their wines. Certainly worth a stop if you're in the area or a good day trip destination on those weekends you're looking for something outside of Austin (or Houston!) to do! Of note, they offer discounts for teachers, veterans and first responders as well.

White Sangria Pouch - 2.5 glasses of wine for $15. "Adult Capri Sun"

This place is an absolute GEM! The wine was incredible (lots of sweet and dry preferences). The Cattle Gaurd, White Sangria, and the Wanderer were my top faves. But I loved everything I tasted - $15 for a 6 wine tasting and you keep the glass. The staff was amazing - everyone was so sweet, accomdating, and happily came to check in on us while we sat on the back porch. Later learned they were locally owned and family operated, which really showed in their service. Everyone made you feel like family! The grounds are pristine and have so many nice details - fans outside, LOTS of outdoor seating options all around the building, games liek jenga and cornhole, music on Saturdays, a fishing pond (with rods nearby!). Don't skip this one - you won't regret it. :)

incredible musicians played twinkle twinkle little star for my girls so sweet!!!

Would give ten stars if I could! Amazing ambience; amazing service, delicious wine, incredible live music. Go now you won't be disappointed!

Texas charm amazing wine Without a doubt Busted Oak Cellars is the best winery on the Texas wine trail.. a true hidden gem! Sherrie and Patrick are wonderful people and they do an amazing job. Excellent wine with a wide variety that pleases any palate. Beautiful outdoor space! We relaxed by the fire on the gorgeous deck. Busted Oak Cellars is the perfect place to book an event. Surrounded in nature the owners thought of everything.OUTSTANDING and top quality. Next time I go back I'm going to buy a case of red. I absolutely love this winery.

The atmosphere was very country which we loved since we both grew up on a farm. Adorable cottages on the property that are available to rent through Airbnb I believe. The tasting room was in the barn. The friendly vintners were happy to help us make our selections. I selected 3 white and 2 red. I preferred the reds but may have appreciated the whites more if they had been served chilled (my taste preference) however all were room temperature. We enjoyed them outside amongst the feathered friends featuring all sorts of chickens, roosters and Guineas. Now the wine is not Napa quality so don't expect that but it is potable. The experience and environment is what makes it worth the stop to try something a little different.

They also had mules and alpacas... but they were definitely on "do not disturb" mode. Wine tasting was 5 for $15, and I appreciated how detailed their menu was. It actually made choosing feel less like a guessing game. Bonus: you can mix it up with frozen drinks too, and honestly, everything we tried had great flavor. Food check: Charcuterie board was good, just wish it had a little more protein (felt a little light on the meats). Pizza though? Crispy, tasty, and did exactly what it needed to do alongside the wine Overall, such a sweet, laid-back experience. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the mood for wine, vibes, and a little farm energy.

Lots of free parking available. Entered the place and we were greeted by a smiling employee and some water! This place is a great secret to exploring. They have 4 different bourbons that they give you FREE samples. And they have several others that they only charge $3.00 per sample. Husband & I each had a taste of the 4 year & the 6 year which was a great way to become familiar with their bourbon. We then decided to order some drinks. Husband had Smoked Bourbon (rocks glass) which is;2oz Sixth Street Bourbon, 1 oz Vanilla Liqueur, Mesquite-Smoked Ice Cube, Cinnamon Stick( so they smoke the ice cube) this was a great drink. I had Old Fashioned (rocks glass) 2 oz Sixth Street Bourbon, 1/2 oz Simple Syrup, Angustura Bitters, Orange Twist, "Filthy" Cherry. It's an Old Fashioned which is always good. This place is small town charm with a 'Cheers' feel. I highly recommend that you go here. If traveling on 71 or 10 or 290 make the stop and hang out with some great people and drink some great bourbon. ...You MUST try the Rock and Rye as it's like Fall in a shot glass, but you need to sip it and enjoy it. This has some seating indoors and some outdoors, so going during the fall is probably ideal. Not a huge space, but when I arrived on a 100-degree day, there were plenty of seats to choose from. I did two different flights- the sparkling and the tasting. I'm more of a red lover, but the Blanc Du Bois semi-sweet is one of the only whites I've REALLY enjoyed (I received a tasting of this at the rodeo and wanted to check out more options here since I loved it so much). There are only two sparkling options at the moment, so I tried both. The real star was the Belle for me. I can definitely see myself taking this to brunch or enjoying while cooking a meal. It is light and refreshing and you can totally taste the fruity guava notes in it. The Blanc Du Bois regular is not sweet enough for me which is probably why I enjoy the Semi Sweet so much. Of course, I left with a bottle of this as well. I'd like to come back and try their Reds- but definitely something I'll have to do in the future. If you're already out this way, you can taste some wine and then book a Bee-Keeping class which I really enjoyed.
