A lot could improve with this location, I ordered the family tender meal and spent $60 for nothing, the gentleman was very polite however I asked for fresh food over 5 times and received older strips and fries, the only thing fresh was my okra, I also asked for sauce for the 16 strips, we do not use there gravy I was told that could not be substituted with anything, ok but being charged $10 for sauce is insane, on top of that I got these huge old jalapeños that were old as well, expired ranch, it tasted sour and when I looked at the date, it expired Jan of this year, we are in MARCH, I didn't even get the buffalo sauce I paid $4 for, I don't think I would ever return and I can see why I haven't been in a while, please work on serving fresh food, I spent $60 today and in today's economy for feeding a family is a lot for food that is disgusting when the price of everything has increased. It has been a few months since our last visit. So we decided to try again today, boy we were very disappointed. The prices were way too high, the place was dirty, the restrooms were filthy and the French fries were COLD!! The condiments were no longer on the tables. (No honey, no hot sauce, no ketchup, and the good brown paper rolls were replace with cheap paper towels) The chicken was hot and tasted good. Lastly, the service was good, but we felt like we were interrupting their break time. I guess that's why the parking lot was empty, we were the only ones dining in, and very few drive through pick ups. Sad to see another restaurant going down the tubes. read more

10-16-2022 This is first time my husband and I have bought chicken strips at this location. The flavor of the chicken is good. The roll was soft. The chicken strips are extremely small. The 4 piece box of strips were crust with a small piece of chicken. The okra and corn nuggets were freshly made and were good too. We ordered two apple pies which were good. Waited in the drive-through area for about 20 minutes before I ended up leaving. The three employees that were in and out of the door didn't do too much other than waste a lot of my time. No prices on the menu I had to wait to get a paper copy to then have the person not return to take the order. I ended up leaving along with a few other cars. Went to chicken express got my order within three minutes. Hopefully the owner of this place sees these reviews and realizes that he's losing money from employees that aren't servicing the customers. Worst experience ever at Bush's. The prices almost doubles, the chicken "tenders" we paper thin and so dry it felt I was chewing on a piece of wood. The chicken was so dry I felt like I was eating the turkey from Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation. The rolls we a dark brown, not sure how you get them that color but to burn them. Someone from San Antonio recommended BUSH'S so I gave it a shot. Bush's serves a classic country-style gravy and batter, in counterpoint to heavily seasoned cajun-style from Popeyes, but unfortunately the quality of chicken is not so good. Cajun seasoning covers up the taste of industrialised zombie chicken well. Now, if Bush's served ethically-sourced bird, coated in its Arcadian batter, that'd be something very special indeed. read more

The service was great there was only two employees at the time but they were super nice and got to us as best at they could with there only being two of them. The service at this location sucks. Today I pulled up to the window and the kid taking my order refused to open it. He walked out side, stood on the sidewalk behind were I could see him, I asked whats wrong with the window, he said " nothing we just don't use it." I've been here to this location before and have used the window every time unless someone was ahead of me. He brought out my food and 2 drinks and card and receipt and pen, all trying to hand it to me from behind the cab of my truck on the sidewalk. Again I asked is there something wrong with the window? Like everyone in New Braunfels, people feel an allegiance to Chicken Express. One thing that sets apart these two places is the customer service. Each time we have gone through their drive thru, their workers are polite, clear to understand and seem happy to work here. I have never gotten that impression from CE. I get it, it's a fast food job hat will be temporary. However, this place is treating their employees very differently because they are very friendly. So kudos in this department. We have NOT tried their fried chicken mostly because we don't like fried chicken. Haha! But we LOVE chicken tenders so had to try this place. Love it! My kids are big fans of their chicken rolls, chicken tender places in between their soft rolls!! Kids also love the Mac and cheese plus their mashed potatoes and gravy. Hubs loves their gizzards which are always made fresh to order and they tell you it will be 4-5 minutes and it is worth the wait!! We haven't tried much outside those items listed except for a yummy fried peach pie! Oh I love that they have teamed up with Canyon HS multiple times giving portions of proceeds to the school. I really wish we had a Bush's Chicken back home. We were visiting for the week and noticed this place that sold chicken and other things. We were curious and found this place to be a winner. Not only is their chicken just as good as some of the big chains it may be better! The chicken was fried perfectly and was very moist on the inside with flavorful juices. We had the 10 piece meal that came with 2 family sides. We also ordered some fried gizzards and they were delicious! The green beans were seasoned with Bush's seasoned salt which is a yummy proprietary blend of salt and spices. Mash and Mac were great and the bread was average but who cares? I love fried chicken! I had a coupon for bush's fried chicken (buy one get one free- how can you turn a deal like that down?) I ordered the #2, your choice of chicken pieces , and you can choose from 1-3 pieces- breasts are 70cents more). The chicken was good. This meal came with a drink, a roll (delicious- I'm addicted to bread) and your choice of 1 side. I decided to jump into the frying vat and go all out- so with my fried chicken I got fries. You get a lot of fries. Some of the fries were a little limp looking but nothing that dousing them with catsup can't fix. When you pull in to order its a little confusing for first timers. The menu is tacked onto the side of the building ( large print) . When I went there were 6 cars,2 lanes. So you have at least 3 employees taking orders , so the wait really isn't long. Although it was bumper to bumper and when it's time to pull out you might be blocked by another car- but it's fast food right, so you shouldn't be waiting too long to drive away.The best deal is a 32 ounce tea for 32 cents!!
