Super fun first time! If you never done any HIIT/Kickboxing, this class will definitely kick your…read moreass! The class is a mix of HIIT, functional training, boxing, and cardio! All the staff and instructors are super friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. There was even an instructor doing all the workouts with us which was motivating. Usually there are iPads with instructions for each station. However, there was a bit more people in the class I went to, so the class was split into 2 large groups with alternating stations. They did their best to keep everyone socially distanced and encouraged masks when not in class. All the instructors wore masks! Definitely check this place out if you're wanting something challenging, but fun! All you need to bring is a good attitude, water, & boxing wraps for the gloves. If you don't have boxing wraps, they are available for purchase for $8 traditional wraps and $12 for the finger fast wraps. First class is FREE :)

However when I went into the studio to cancel my membership just a few weeks ago end of January 2023 I spoke with Kayla to cancel my membership. She was so kind and encouraged me to at least give them a try again because they have a whole new staff since I still had access to the studio till the end of February. I thought it over and decided to give them a try and went to a class hosted by the trainer Cody and it was like Night and Day I throughly enjoyed the class and his encouragement that it reminded me of why I wanted to do this kind of workout in the first place. So when I went in for my second class I had the pleasure of meeting Nick the GM and spoke with him before my class and after my class I chose to cancel my cancellation which they informed me I would keep the price I had been paying. Today 2-15-23 I knew I wanted to add another Rockbox workout to my week. Today the trainer was Silvio and he was as awesome and amazing as Cody. Silvio took the time to show me proper technique in both weights and boxing. He was also extremely encouraging even when I was losing steam on the weights he just told me "you're doing great!" I was able to ask him some questions after class about fitness and his recommendations which isn't always easy to ask and admit you need help. They have been so welcoming and encouraging that I'm throughly enjoying my happiness journey and looking forward to seeing how I can change with their classes. If you're on the fence I highly encourage you to give them a try because they do understand that everyone is at a different fitness level and won't force you to go beyond what you can do but they will encourage you to do more.

And have loved being a member for 6+ months now! 9rounds is great because you really are going at your own pace even though you are in a friendly group class environment. Paul & Sumer are the owners and coaches.. great people! so friendly, inviting and meets you where you are in your fitness journey. I have a bad knee and so they always help with adjustments on different work outs and I so appreciate that! The facility is always clean and nice and cool during your workout.

Signing up for auto pay is a huge risk, as the Owner is extremely unreasonable about cancellation, even for medical reasons. We were charged for two additional months beyond our cancellation notice, simply because our cancellation notice feel slightly outside the 30 day notification period. Zero flexibility and totally unwilling to to compromise on a pro rata approach to final payment. Even though we stopped going to the center two months prior to cancellation due to an injury. Strongly recommend you avoid this location and go somewhere else.

Many instructors are able to show basic technique, but Steve always has extra strategic nuggets of info that make all the difference. Steve also pays attention to his students while they are training and will drop by to make corrections during drills/training. This makes a huge difference because a student could be off balance, using incorrect posture the entire class and have not been aware, this personal instructor attention makes all the difference. I have seen many instructors that just demo a technique, but pay no attention to the actual students delivery and/or retention, so Steve is is an extremely high quality instructor that cares about his work in my opinion. As well, anywhere Steve goes he always has good vibes, and builds positive community feeling around him. He's also quite funny and makes good jokes. He attracts high quality students that are a joy to train with, and also you can get in some serious work at the same time. The vibe at a gym is pretty important, you don't want to go to a gym full of slackers where you feel uninspired but you also don't want to go to a gym where you feel out of your league and you can't learn, can't relax, etc. I followed him to this gym from another gym when he started it because I had such good experiences and such good results training under Steve.

This kickboxing gym is very convenient for me, but for whatever reason it just was never on my list…read moreto try. Mind you I am a VERY rusty kickboxer so that was part of the reason. However with my kickboxing background from taking the class at the gym + my TAE BO days (if you know you KNOW holla Billy Blanks) I knew it would be something I would probably enjoy. I have a coworker friend that would rave on and on about this place so I decided to give it a try. Pro tip - at the moment, some of the class times are listed on Class Pass, so my fellow insiders can get up on it and sign up! I took the 6:30pm class and got there right on time to jump in. If you're super new I'd recommend that you get there 10-15 mins early to get your wraps and gloves and etc. Wraps are $5 and you can keep them (brand new) which was nice. They also have a ton of super cute merch! Okay back to the workout. There is 15 minutes-"ish" of dynamic stretching and warm up which is nice and will get you sweating. The instructor of the day broke down each movement and focused on technique which was very helpful. They also will correct you if you are doing something wrong which as we all know is helpful in injury prevention and etc. I was pretty tired from teaching classes at the gym all week so I appreciated the corrections. I would however prefer to see more modifications during the dynamic warm up phase. We jumped into a lot of the dynamic movement without any modifiers and with tight hamstrings (endurance sports will sure do that to ya) I NEED options baby! Otherwise it is a booty kicker for sure and you will be tired afterwards. My hands/arms were shaking from taking out all of the week's stress on that punching bag! So come here, check it out, release some stress and you will enjoy. I'll be back to try more classes for sure.

I had never done anything like this before, but the instructors were extremely encouraging and helpful when we switched to various forms, kicks and punches. If you're looking for a studio chuck full of people who genuinely want you to be successful with your health and fitness goals, this is your tribe! I'll be back for sure.

Don't do it! I don't think I've ever had such a difficult time EVER trying to get information on a…read moregym I've ALREADY signed up for previously, there's no post-customer care. I've had a membership before, i enjoyed what i attended (even though the coach turnover rate then was so high), and then i moved to Alaska and had to cancel. Well I'm coming to visit family for five weeks in Frisco (after 1.5 years), and having been familiar with Kickhouse, i was really wanting to sign up for the month I'm here - I even still have my two pairs of kickhouse gloves and wraps. Also this time, my mom and sister wanted to join me too. While in Alaska still, I reached out to the Frisco Instagram page in November on IG (we were even mutual friends on social from the last time i was signed up and tagging them in my stories) and explained that i wanted to sign up for the coming month, had two additional guests that also wanted month passes and we all wanted to know what that rate would be, since we were making plans. I never was able to receive an answer other than "come in for rates". I even called several times, left a voicemail and even reached out there to the general Kickhouse (vs Frisco specifically), and also didn't receive any response... I'm not sure on what the gatekeep is. I've already signed up previously, you would think there would be some returning-customer loyalty or even interest. Especially if I'm bringing two more. I didn't need a "pitch" like my first visit or even a discount, i already knew i was going to sign up AND with two more, but just wanted to relay the cost so we can prepare in advance. NEVER received an answer. It was embarrassing to relay to the my mom and sister that I can't get an answer on rates after weeks of trying... I called two other kickboxing gyms in the area after giving this multiple tries, and immediately got answers with rates, so we found an alternative really quickly when i tried. But totally sucks! It completely ruined my perspective on this chain and i genuinely was really excited to give it another go with two additional people :( if you guys aren't going to provide rates other than in person, the sites should totally be updated to say that. Not every request is just surface interest... especially if it's a returning customer. I don't need a pitch, i just needed a rate to relay so we can prepare. Maybe they have such a negative experience with getting customers they have to have in-person pressure only?? No idea... but totally bummed.

They make you stand in your orthodox and south paw stances to give both sides an even workout. Unorthodox but makes sense. My only suggestion is to do all the warm-ups in the beginning and a cool down at the end with kickboxing in between. What happened was warm-up, kickboxing for a few minutes, exercises in between where you might need your gloves off, more kickboxing, and switching back and forth. It was annoying having to take off my gloves and putting them on often but I guess it gave me a chance to sip some water. We wipe down our bags after every use and I witnessed someone mopping the floors so I know the place is pretty sanitized. It feels targeted towards women but I don't know why as it would give men a good workout as well.
