    Amazing views here.

Love this park! My favorite one in the sunset park area. Beautiful views and such clean athletic fields that are great for working out. It's not crowded if you come in the mornings or on weekday afternoons. I like to bring my dog here. Just note that the park opens at 7 am so if you're an early bird, you'll have to wait for them to open the gate at 7.

Bam! Gentrification at its finest. Growing up in Sunset Park we didn't have the luxury of turfs, clean playgrounds, or a clean waterfront hangout spot. It definitely shatters your ego that much more, when you realize that money really can buy happiness. Behind those abandoned warehouses along 1st ave, you see a reenactment of the Williamsburg that we have grown to love today. Clean playgrounds for kids to embrace their athletic genes. Mint clean pavements that draws a path along the waters. Bike routes and pedestrian walkways distinctly separated. This place screams Brooklyn bridge park, minus the traffic. I look forward to the rapid transitions in the neighborhood I have grown to love. Though this park is still a work in progress, it sure knows how to draw investors and young blood further south into Brooklyn.

Psst: Yelpers this is a true gem of a tucked away oasis. After some needed face-lift, the city partially opened up this park to the public. It boast a great skyline of NYC skyscrapers and has a decent view of lady Liberty. There is a bike lane that stretches all the way towards the end of the abondon warehouse. Rocks are pile on top to make route for walkways down the water front for people to stoll and take pictures. There is a small emptied car lot if you do decide to drive. The park needs some sprucing up like nail down those metal blockades, or renovate the rest of the collapsed shore front steps. This isn't really a place to go alone, bring a loved one or friends, or even your pet. Its a good quiet place away from the city.

A great addition to Sunset Park! This park has a great view of lower Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and Jersey. It offers a waterfront path for walkers, joggers, and bikers. There are benches along the path which allow for rest and a nice seat to soak in the views. The park also has an area that actually juts out into the water. While I was at the park a staff member actually came to tell people to move from sitting on the rocks which is a permitted area. This park also has a sports field where a soccer game was taking place when I visited. The only con is that it is located near a very industrial area. There are a few vacant buildings and some that are in use. I would definitely not come here alone after dusk. It makes sense to me that this park closes so early year round. Nonetheless I look forward to frequenting this park this summer!

Definitely my new running spot. Running around Sunset Park is nice because of the hills, but you can't get better scenery than in Bush Terminal Park. The park opened a few months and the space includes a bike track, a soccer field, and a baseball field. I don't recommend biking in the park but it's a great place for running and strolling along side the river. Of course, it gets pretty darn cold as you're right near the water. On one side you get the Hudson River/Bay Ridge channel and on the other side you have manufacturing companies. There is a boardwalk that extends outward and will give you a better view of lower manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. The area is not huge, but it is really nice to know there is a great area against all those industrial companies. With Industry City around 34th St., I wonder in the upcoming years what will happen to Sunset Park.

Great place to chill out with a friend /date if you just want a good break. This was not around when I was a kid, but I'm glad it's an accessible space for the sunset Park residents to play and be safe. It does look like one of those rising up and coming Hipster parks, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

Bush Terminal Park may have a stodgy name, but it also has beautiful juxtapositions of industrial Brooklyn and urban horticultural landscapes. The paved bike and walking pathways lead to views of the waterfront, Bush Terminal historic buildings or a rather abrupt exit about ten blocks from the Terminal entryway. The courts look like fun for soccer ball. There are plenty of lovely spots for impromptu lunch picnicking. It's usually quiet and feels like an escape from city life, while simultaneously being surrounded by urban revitalization and decay.

A really nice park to walk or run with a play field. Great view of the city. Small park by the water with lots of families and people walking around. Whenever I get here my glasses get so dirty from the seawater air. Some wild animals birds, ducks. In the evening the air is fresh and amazingly there were not bugs which made me curious as to being one of the first outdoor places by the water with no bugs. A few more interesting, amazing and great things about this park that I can really appreciate because I like nature and outdoors so much, but I will not write it here, that is for me to show and surprise my friends and family when I take them here.

A little difficult to get to way over on 1st Avenue, but if you're in the area, or live in the area, this is a really nice place, with some unique views of the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan. It almost looks like a private gated community entrance, but the parents with the kids and their bikes were pulling up and parking in this desolate warehouse area of Brooklyn, and walking on in. Really nice and pristine baseball fields, and rocky piers that extend our in at least 2 different areas, and a nice arching pathway for dog walkers, etc, There is a designated bike path, and an on-site security guard for the Bush Terminal entrance. Overall, this is a really nice addition for Brooklyn!

For starters, it's just a wonderful use of what was dead space underneath the subway overpass. It can be a little noisy, but shade on a hot summer day is pretty clutch. Perhaps it's because my kids are still little, but we get a whole lot of use out of the southern side of the park with the swings, jungle gyms, and splashpad. As it's fairly new (5-6 years old or so?), these things are still state of the art and a lot of fun for the kiddos. We've also had plenty of luck hosting birthday parties there, as it's not nearly as mobbed as Carroll Park a few blocks north. I also look forward to when we can take more advantage of the basketball courts, turf field, and maybe even the skate park on the north side of the space. Really, just an excellent playground to have in the area.

Divided by Nelson St you get a combination of little kids to big kids to adult fun options. The South side has excellent playground equipment that is generally protected from a lot of the direct elements (think rainy day play). Cross over to the North side and you have some turf area for small soccer or similar. Short gated directly next to that there is a 3' mini ramp, rail and box features for the skate rat in you (or your kid). A small "exercise " area divides the skate zone from the half court basketball net. All of the North has a jogging/biking/walking track around the enclosed park. Considering it was a slog to complete and it's proximity to my home I'm loving St. Mary's!

There's ladders, slides, and swings. An interesting history about it. It's a small playground named in honor of Simon Boerum, whose family had a farm on this site. This guy also was a member of the Continental Congress for the State of New York. Formerly it used to include a parking lot for the school next to it. In 2001 money was raised to renovate the park, which added a basketball court, tennis court, and playground. Also there's a spray shower shaped like a beehive. There's a couple bee structures on each side of this. Good way to keep children entertained. It's not a big park but it's got enough inside it. The park is in a pretty safe area for visitors.

It's very well-rounded, with a tree lined walkway that bisects the playground area from a nice blacktop (excellent for scooting/biking/other rolling around), jungle gyms that cater to different ages, and lots of benches and tables to sit, party, or do whatever. Unlike the nearby Carroll Park, Boerum Park is also not completely hectic and packed every time it's nice out. It's still NYC, don't get me wrong, but the line for the swings (baby seats only) is often non-existent, and always manageable. Sure, there was that one time that there was human feces sitting in the corner, but to the credit of the NYC Parks Department, that shit was cleaned up within hours. This park also holds a special place in my heart as it was here, on a sunny Saturday, that the whole neighborhood just started cheering because we found out that a certain orange person lost their job. And it was glorious.
