From immaculate playgrounds for kids and BBQ areas for adults to kayaking and beach volleyball, it feels as though you've been transported to an entirely new dimension within New York City. I spent literally five hours the other day exploring and trying to get lost; it was that much fun. Speaking of getting lost, I actually forgot my house and car keys on a lounge chair while enjoying the simultaneous view of the stream, boats, river, and BBQ area and didn't realize it until the end of the day, around 10 pm. The crazy part is that one of their staff members kept them safe for me the entire time! I found a local parks officer, and after a quick click and call on his radio, they were located and returned to me within 60 seconds! This park is such a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of New York City.

"We fell in love down at the pier, Soon we were sharing a…read morebeer" (Blondie) The North 5th Street Pier and Park was a wonderful oasis of sights and sounds all wrapped up in three relaxing acres on the East River waterfront. Gorgeous views and interesting sights can be seen in every direction: the river, the North Williamsburg NYC Ferry terminal (where we saw a ferry lumber in backwards to rendezvous at the dock), lovely views of the Manhattan skyline and Williamsburg Bridge, high rise apartments, public art in the form of the Crescendo sculpture, piers, cobblestone walkways, wooden boardwalks, and benches are everywhere. You'll also see trees, grass lawns and artificial lawns for you and your dogs to enjoy. Speaking of dogs, we saw dozens of friendly dogs and their human companions. All of the dogs were leashed, and we struck up a few fun conversations with their owners. We also saw plenty of families out for an invigorating stroll on the brisk Sunday morning we were there.

There's always something to see--from the regulars who gather here, to the occasional concert or community event, to an indie rock band playing an impromptu set, or local skateboarders showing off their latest tricks. I've made so many great memories here over the years, but one that always stands out is getting my second COVID shot here. It may not sound sentimental, but at the time it felt like a hopeful turning point--a reminder that brighter days were ahead.

In my opinion it does not feel like a park because there's no children's playground. It looks more like some corporate building entrance area. The cool thing about this park is that there are nice lights on the floor for the night time. The lights are thin and long and on the floor. The trees also have nice lights on them for a nice lighting effect for the night time. So nice. There are benches and stone tables and chairs to eat lunch. Many people do that there. This park kind of sucks sometimes because there are some random construction workers or people that smoke in the park and too bad the wind is so strong that the smoke goes on you. Other than that, the park is good for sitting and dining. The park is kind of long with stairs by the halal food carts and if you're handicapped or with big luggage then you can go around and enter it without taking the stairs.

It was originally created in 1968 as Liberty Plaza Park. In 2006 though, it was redesigned after John Zuccotti. The plaza is relatively large and it has granite paved walkways, seating areas, and plenty of shade! This park is also surrounded by all of the Skyscrapers in FiDi. There are some notable art pieces in the area too like Mark di Suvero's Joie de Vivre and across the street from Zuccotti Park is Isamu Noguchi's Red Cube. This is a great place to take a break and eat lunch! There are plenty of food trucks and food vendors nearby Zuccotti Park. While I was visiting, there were a lot of visitors enjoying the open seating at the benches! This is also a central location between Broadway and Trinity Place! I'd recommend visiting Zuccotti's Park if you're in the area especially if you're visiting for the Holidays!
