Omg. We are so happy we happen to be in the area and decided to have an early early dinner instead of trying to kill time somewhere nearby. If you can't get here early, definitely make a reservation. The place is a bit small, seats about 7 tables (mix of 2-4 tops). We start of with the ceviche which is so refreshing. I have to admit, it's a bit too citric for me. Definitely share it with someone if you're sensitive to sour. The tacos are all really good here. A good balance of protein with a refreshing herb or veggies. But my favorite is actually their vegetarian tacos. The brussel sprouts tacos are so good. I actually would come here and just order those. Perfectly roasted or fried up tacos with a refreshing mix of fresh herbs and veggies. The sauce is a bit too creamy for me but it does help me stop at 2-3 tacos. We ordered "Chorizo, Cotija & Pork Belly Nachos" for appetizer and Margaritas for drink. I enjoyed my drink a lot since I love Tequila. For entrée, we ordered "Fish Taco" and "Beef Cheek Taco". This is a cute little Mexican restaurant in downtown Burlington. There are a lot of public lots (paid) that you can park at nearby or you can chance the street as well. We were here for a super late lunch or early dinner depending on how you want to look at a 3pm meal. There were only a few tables here at the time so you shouldn't have a problem getting seated. We opted to sit on the patio which is located in an alleyway next to the restaurant. It is shaded and there's a low fence that separates you from the sidewalk so it's a nice little oasis there. A must order here is actually one of the desserts - the waffle churros are really good. They aren't deep fried like a churro would be but they're a great imitation and possibly a bit healthier too! Overall we enjoyed the experience. Cocktails were made well, guacamole and cheese dip appetizers were tasty, especially with the warm chips. Wait staff were really friendly and frankly awesome! I took a star off for the meat tacos, we had the Ahieto chicken and the fish taco. Chicken was too salty, and the fish was fried in batter - most places do it this way - so I really appreciate places that grill their fish, without overcooking it of course. I am sure some people prefer it this way, however, balance is key for me. Nothing too salty, too sour, too sweet, too spicy, too fried as in batter, lightly fried is ok if its necessary. Also, the flavor profile needs to change slightly for the fish taco to enhance it. The vegetarian tacos were something else, haloumi and potato I was told was beautiful and the Brussel sprout had just the right amount of kick. Crispy as well, loved the touch of coriander in there. We will be back for the vegetarian tacos and I want to try the mole chicken taco, they were out when we went. We were able to call ahead and get some seats on the patio. It was a humid day and from where we were sitting there wasn't much airflow so it got slightly uncomfortable. The tacos here are good but none of the dishes we had were mind blowing. All the tacos seemed fresh. A good fish taco is usually our go to. I found that the batter wasn't as light and fluffy as other fish tacos I've had in the past, and because of this the density of the taco was on the heavier side. The slaw and radishes were a good compliment. The classic taco is probably something similar to something you could create at home. And the Achiote taco was okay. Nothing to write home about. The whitefish ceviche was good. There was a lot of citrus notes which I love, but I found the chips to be on the salty side. Based on our experience, I think If I were to return to Burlington I would like to try difference places and then maybe come back for another try once I've explored those. read more

I am always looking for something different to try and sometime the locals love. Doesn't look like much walking by but i stopped in to give a try. I loved the vibe of the place, it was small but welcoming. They had the whole sugar skull and fiesta theme going on. I enjoy the authenticity vibe that Burro tacos had. The menu is small but done right, it gets straight to the point just tacos. Lol I ordered the Classic Taco, chipotle sweet potato taco and the cochinita pibil taco, each taco is priced individually which was great because I wanted to try different ones. I have to say the chipotle sweet potato taco was my favorite(surprising right?!)for me too- I mean really sweet potatoe in a taco definitely interesting. I am glad I tried it cause it was amazing. I loved there spin in the potatoe taco- it had. Shredded cabbage and chipotle sauce with some onions and the tortilla was perFectly cOoked everything was piled high. Awesome tacos! Came here with a friend for a late lunch. Definitely place a reservation which is easy via their website. For starters I ordered the Bulldog margarita and my friend ordered the Verde margarita- both were very good. The Verde was made with absinthe although I could barely detect it in the drink--it was still had a kick to it. For food, we ordered several different tacos to try: fish, the classic (pork & beef), adobo beef and chroizo approx $6 each. You cannot modify your order except to exclude cilantro. We ordered all soft shell except for the classic. I really enjoyed the classic--it reminded me of the tacos I would eat from the taco trucks when visiting New York. The fish was a close second--flaky white fish--not too greasy and perfectly garnished with pickled onion. Prices are decent considering the quality of food. Due to Covid seating is very limited so as mentioned reservations are strongly recommended. read more

They stay true to their name and stick to what they do best: tacos. There are no burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, tamales, etc. Just tacos. The Brussels sprout one was way too salty for me but I'm also not a huge fan of Brussel sprouts so that may have influenced my opinion on that one. Great little gem! Our friend recommended this place and we were definitely not disappointed! We ordered the white fish ceviche, fish taco, classic taco, bourbon pulled pork taco and brussel sprouts taco. My favourite was the fish taco because it was super fresh, they did not over do it with the sauce/condiments on the fish and their pickled onion on it gave it a nice touch. We ordered two tacos each: chipotle sweet potato and eggplant parm (me) and fish and beef (the bf). Mine were so flavorful that I wanted to order more to stuff my face... I had a Mexican soft drink pinapple flavour. We saw him making the sangria pitcher looked soooo good. We started w the nachos chorizo and cotija, loved it. Pretty filling but still had room for food. We both got two tacos. I got the classic, which is chicken and beef i believe. To be honest i felt like it was missing something. Second one was the fish taco, cant screw that up super tasty. The boyfriend got the beef cheek which he thoroughly enjoyed. But his favorite was the bourbon chicken , finger licking good. We ended the meal with the churro bite donuts w chocolate sauce (gluten free as is everything on the menu). My boyfriend scarfed them down lol but i didnt like them to much. They've got a good margarita & tacos are really delicious. Always love a good fish taco, & even liked their chicken one (which is never a go to for me anywhere else). The braised beef cheek taco is also quite yummy. The only one I tried that I thought was just okay was the spicy chorizo & black bean - but more so due to personal preference (the ground chorizo itself was great, I just didn't love the addition of the beans texture-wise). I would say the one thing stopping me from rating 5 stars is the menu is missing a more unique, out of the ordinary item. Wilbur in Toronto is one of my favourite places, solely because of their Korean bulgogi taco that really sets them apart from other restaurants. Aside from that these are the best local tacos I've had so far! read more
