    three different types of burritos

Yummy spot for sushi burritos and poke bowls. The burritos were yummy. But a lotttt of greens (mostly kale?). I feel like the way they wrapped it gave me some bites of just kale. On the upside, it's a very thin layer of rice and a lot of filling. Not the best sushi burrito I've had but not the worst either! Besides, I don't know many places in Ottawa for sushi burritos!

I went with a couple friends at work and was able to split my choice of sushi burrito with a friend so we both got a different flavour (one with cooked salmon and one with raw salmon). The line up to get the food during lunch is quite long and the burritos are usually more expensive than a normal lunch. But here they don't focus on quantity, it is about quality. The sushi burritos are wrapped tightly and well to ensure that there is nothing falling out and the different flavours, if you bite just right, you can get all of them in your mouth at once. The great thing about this place that I've found is that they don't just pack it in with rice, they actually have a lot of the other ingredients (the avocado was quite good and felt really fresh). The lunch rush line is quite long so if you do not have a lot of time for lunch, it may not be the best place for you. However the nice thing is that you don't have to wait for servers, you order the food, pay and then find a place to sit down and eat.

Had a great poke bowl and burrito. Got our food in less than 5 minutes of ordering too. Delicious!

3.5/5 Great lunch option downtown! It is a little pricier than the usual lunch grub, but I hear it's about at par as other poke places in other cities. I've been here three times, but haven't had the courage or patience to choose the ingredients for my own bowl. I've also never tried any of the sushi burritos yet, so my review will refer purely on the set poke bowls on their menu. First one I got was the fired salmon, which I found out belatedly was cooked salmon. I was a little disappointed, thinking it would be spicy raw salmon, but no worries, I got over it quickly! They cook the salmon so that the skin is crispy (which is great), but unfortunately this also made parts of the salmon overcooked and slightly drier. It was still pretty good, even with the spring mix (which also surprised me since I normally would not want regular salad on my poke bowl). There was a bit of a kick on the sauce too, which was great. The takeout bowl also looks deceptively small, but trust me, it's pretty filling! I love that it's a fresh option for lunch without having to resort to Just greens. Next two times I went, I tried the miso chicken, which unfortunately I found way too salty... and the tuna, which tasted great with the mango and avocado. If it wasn't so pricy I'd definitely come here a lot more often! I'm still ecstatic at the expanding variety of food slowly coming to Ottawa though! Keep 'em coming!

Best place in Ottawa for a pokebowl! I've been here 3 or 4 times already since they opened (in April I think?) and I've tried both their pokebowls and their burritos. I definitely like the pokebowls better. I always get their pre-set salmon pokebowl, which is pretty good. When they first opened, their service sucked (the cashier had terrible English, and the server's English wasn't that great either). Ironically, the chefs had the best English. I know this because I had to speak to the chef who prepared my pokebowl because they didn't put in some of the listed ingredients, which was pretty disappointing. However, I enjoyed the food so much that I decided to go again, and the service was much better the next time around. The price is decent for the portion that you get, and I like getting take-out here.

I live for the one punch salmon here. So good. I appreciate that they accommodated my request for less packaging.

I've had sushi plenty in Vancouver and Toronto, and this place was disappointing in comparison (even to Toronto sushi). I think AYCE sushi is more popular in Ottawa. This is one of the few places that do a la carte. I found the prices to be a bit expensive for what you get. 3 of us shared a sushi and sashimi party tray. It came to around $30 a person, and was quoted on the menu to be for about 3-4 people. I would say it's barely enough for 3 very small people, let alone 4. It did not come with miso soup or salad. The quality of the sushi was nothing to be amazed about. Although it was probably a bit better than AYCE, I think for the prices, I'd expect better quality sushi. If I had to, I'd choose AYCE sushi over this in Ottawa. Also, in terms of authenticity, I think this place is Chinese owned. It is a small establishment, so if you want to be sure you get a table, I'd recommend reservations. There is street parking available on Somerset. I likely won't be back, and will definitely try my hardest to persuade my friends to go elsewhere if they want to come back.

Their sushi is delicious, especially for takeout sushi. I decided to get a platter for dinner for my husband and I. I got their Maki Platter A, which is 36 pieces for $47.95. You get 8 pieces of California, 8 pieces of Spicy Salmon, 10 pieces of Dynamite and 10 pieces of Orange Dragon. UberEats was having a special where if you spend $40 or more you save $11. So I ordered through UberEats for pick up and saved $11 :) Note that with this deal you pay taxes on the regular price and then get $11 off the post-tax total. It took about 25 minutes and pick up was quick. Staff were nice. The rolls were delicious. I loved that the rolls were mostly filling with very little rice. I had requested no sesame seeds and that was no problem at all. The California rolls had cucumber and surimi crab and was topped with masago. The Spicy Salmon rolls had raw salmon mixed with spicy mayo and was topped with tempura bits. The Dynamite rolls had shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumbers, and surimi crab and was topped with masago. The Orange Dragon rolls were Dynamite rolls with the additional topping of sliced raw salmon and sliced avocado. While everything was tasty, I did feel that this platter could have used more variety. The Dynamite and Orange Dragon rolls were too similar. Nonetheless, my husband and I enjoyed the platter. I feel it's a good size for dinner for 2 people. Glad to have discovered this sushi takeout joint near my current work place. It's so convenient to pick up a platter for dinner. Street parking or paid parking in the various nearby lots only.

I had lunch at Yuzumi and it was delicious!…read more Yuzumi opened in August 2019 and took over the space that was The Bowl. It serves primarily poke/rice bowls, sandwiches, and sushi rolls. I had the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich with a side salad ($13.95). I loved that the shrimp in the Po Boy was not breaded/deep fried, so it didn't taste greasy or oily at all. The amount of shrimp was good, as I had shrimp in each bite. The sauce had a slight spicy kick to it, and the cabbage slaw added a nice crunchy texture, and a bit of creaminess without being too rich. The bread was dense and it held the sandwich together well, the bread did not get soggy and the sandwich did not fall apart. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich. The side salad was real mixed greens (hurray for no iceberg and no romaine!). It had shredded carrots, cucumbers and grape tomatoes. Vegetables were fresh, and the dressing arrived on the side as requested. The dressing was a sweet and sour vinaigrette, which I enjoyed, as it wasn't too oily. Service was friendly and the place was bright and clean. The layout is unchanged from when the space was The Bowl. It's a very casual eatery for a quick meal, by yourself or with coworkers or friends. Not exactly a romantic spot for a date, IMO. There's one gender-neutral washroom at the back of the restaurant. It was clean. A great place to grab lunch/early dinner (they close at 5pm) if you work at Tunney's Pasture, or live nearby. I'm looking forward to trying their other options! Street parking only.
