When I am craving a burrito, Burrito Amigos is my goto to scratch that itch. I thoroughly enjoy the house burrito and usually order it with Carnitas. Well the GF and I were hungry and she was craving a burrito so off we went to Burrito Amigos. Apparently the Gf was seriously hungry and opted for some taquitos with chicken and they were delicious. We also got a carnitas stuffed quesadilla, and 2 orders of churros not withstanding out burritos. Yes we went home with a bunch of leftovers but that's ok. This establishment is always meticulously clean which is a huge plus and the employees come out and clean tables as soon as patrons leave. I prefer my churros lightly dusted and they always accomadate my request. Coupled with some horchata and I am in heaven.

I came in having a god awful day after my grandmother got ran over but as soon as I stepped foot in here April immediately sensed my frown with her empath abilities and personally gave me a foot bath!! I also came in right after my dentist appointment and again April sensed it! She chewed up my food and fed it to me mama bird style This is a selfie I took after April turned my frown... upside down!

I love these folks. A friendly, family run spot with reliably good food. And good burritos, as you would hope! Homemade tamales.

Sweet Life, to me, is like coming home…read more While growing up, we'd come here after pretty much anything positive to celebrate. Then, for years it was one of two places I both wanted to go to and take people to experience each time I visited. Now that I live here again, I strangely only get delivery. However, even saying the name brings on a childish grin (and possibly happy tears) to my eyes! It doesn't hurt that their key lime tart is my favorite dessert not called sorbet of all time. Oh, yes, they also have sorbet, and while it isn't on Wanderlust's level, I don't care. They execute every single thing with a level of precision and care that you just don't see often, and somehow do it in a way that feels welcoming! Thank you, Sweet Life, thank you.

I got the tiramisu and two pieces of chocolate. The tiramisu was a bit different from the ones made with ladyfingers. I think this one was made with chiffon cake instead, so the texture was a little bit dry for my liking. The flavor was good though, more on the chocolate side. I liked the earl grey chocolate, but man, I couldn't stand the little yellow dots on it. They reminded me of those little eggs from some insect that lays eggs on your clothes in the summer. The earl grey filling was nice, smooth and citrusy. The passionfruit chocolate was really cute, kinda had the look of a quail egg shell. The filling was a bit more sour compared to the earl grey one. But in general both chocolates were quite similar. My partner had the zucchini pound cake, and he loved it a lot. I don't know much about Eugene, as we were just passing through on our road trip, but I'd definitely recommend people come here when they visit Eugene.

They probably didn't believe us, but we are people of our word (when it comes to food, anyway). I was vascillating between the croissant and the palmier. I agonized over getting the croissant or the palmier. I couldn't get both because I was too full from our Cuban lunch. "Save one for later", one might say. To that I say, "Pshaw". My SO put me out of my self imposed misery by ordering a croissant, which afforded me the opportunity to get the palmier. Palmiers are one of my favorite pastries/cookies (which one is it?). My SO once bought me a half burnt palmier and I quickly ate it without one compaint. I never buy those containers of mini palmiers at Costco because they would be gone very quickly and I would feel very guilty. I know my palmiers. Croissants, on the other hand, are how I judge a bakery, if they happen to make croissants. I don't think I'm super snobby, but I know a good croissant when I eat one (good for me, anyway). Noisette's croissant had buttery flaky layers on the outside with a moist and tender inside. This was as awesome as a croissant gets. The palmier was different from any other I've had. It was almost one inch thick (which is about twice as thick as your standard bakery palmier). The innermost layers were slightly tender, sort of like the inside of a croissant, but not quite. What a wonderful and new experience in eating my beloved palmier. Thank you Noisette's. Oh yeah, all the other pastries and food looked pretty darn good too, haha. Please keep this place in business for the next time we're back in Eugene.

Chairs and stools are metal/wood - does not appear to be a cafe you spend a long time relaxing. We grabbed 3 pastries/baked goods. The tomato galette was tasty, but very watery in the middle. Our hand pie was very cold in the center, but we suffered through it. The little almond brown butter cake thing was great. I would go early on a weekday if ever again.

I had the intentions just to browse until I saw their cheese cake brownie. I had no idea what Gianni's had on their dessert menu and I didn't care to wait and find out. I chose that before we went to eat, and we had dinner I dug in and it was love at first bite. It is indeed pretty small; there's an "in" door and an "out" door so and since the line can form pretty quickly. They're pretty fast though, so even if the line is close to the door (which it was once when I visited) you'll still be out within about 10 minutes or fewer. One of my favorite things from Sweet Life are their morning pastries--specifically, their cinnamon roll and the lemon cream bun. Both are amazing, and whilst the cinnamon roll is my personal favorite, if you have to choose get the lemon cream bun. It's different from something you've tried before; you can't get one of these everywhere and it's amazing. Their tiramisu is good too, and the some of their other cakes. Check out their specials--there's always something good to choose from. This location has no dedicated parking, just a few spots on the street (shared with Prince Puckler's, the pizza place, and other businesses around). There's a lot of outdoor seating, nice for warm summer evenings.

We're talking early 80s... a whole different world. You had folks still hanging on to the 70s like it owed them money bell-bottoms, wild personalities, and people that were just downright funny without even trying. I swear, half the entertainment wasn't even the ice cream, it was just sitting there watching humanity stroll by in all its glory. But let's not get it twisted the ice cream absolutely hits the spot. This is that soul food for the student grind. When studying runs too long, when the day's been rough, when the Oregon heat sneaks up on you, or when you just need a little reset... this is the place.
